have been trying to figure out how to make this post for the longest time without making it seem like i dislike the nimona movie (i DON’T) but uh idk i just think that if you’re into the whole “society needs its monsters, so that’s what i became” theme in fiction you should read the comic bc ballister’s motivations are so interesting and in the movie the plot is very much a thing that is happening to him rather than anything he had a definitive choice in

#HE CHOSE TO BE VIEWED AS A VILLAIN it's so good i promise #he's bitter and he has real motivations beyond 'actually i am innocent and being framed' and its very cool #also chooses to name himself blackheart instead of coming with the preset name of boldheart #idk i have a lot of feelings that i do have trouble voicing bc i don't want to talk negatively abt a movie i had been anticipating #for such a long time. but it did kind of let me down that such a nuanced character didn't get the room to show that #read the comic pleaseeeee its very good and i can tell you all about the bonus info i have locked in my brain from being chronically online #when it was being posted #like why ur boy ambrosius has lion details on his armor. its funny.
