Feyre and Rhys
I have a love hate thing for these two.
Feyre had her high and low points. Her lowest was getting revenge on Tamlin. I just couldn't understand why. It made such little sense to me. Even sjm kinda didnt explain that fully. I understand her hurting Ianthia that made sense that was needed. But turning his people against him that didnt. Destroying the closest link to the human realm was stupid.
When Rhys first took Feyre to the night court he wanted Tamlin to work for them. He wanted his help I dont know why they all forgot why he did that. That was strategy, that was needed since the wall was between the spring court.
There are other moments I was annoyed at Feyre such as her 'dealing' with her sisters. And I genuinely feel like that was what she thought she needed to do. To deal with them. Not listen and understand them. Not help them through the transition. Not help them after being ripped from their lives just as she had. But rather they were on a list of things she had to get thru. It was sad tbh.
In terms of being high lady I mean it's just a title that she used when it suited her. And even then used so stupidly. In the meeting it seemed like a power play that wasnt needed since I mean what did it show really? Apart from that she managed to get some of the high lords power.
Generally Feyre managed to do everything but use her powers or is that just me. I mean she had these incredible powers from each high lord and she didnt use one during the battle?? I wont disregard everything she did cos getting all the God like beings into the battle majorly helped and of course with releasing Amren. But again she didnt technically use her powers (that she stole as mentioned in the first meeting). I mean not even once? What was the training for if ur never gonna use it? It was kinda disappointing.
But I still kinda like her. I do think Rhys made her more interesting at some points. Dont get me wrong he annoyed me too. Way more than the first time.
There were just moments that u thought ur the most powerful man and ur failing. I didnt understand moving people here to there. Especially from what was it spring to winter. And then they had to travel back to spring. It seemed stupid. In the second book he had some sort of strategy and in this book half the time I felt like he was a fish out of water.
He also didnt respect/trust his closet people. Isnt the point of having a second and third is so they know whatever your doing or bouncing ideas off. Him calling on Eris before telling Mor was shitty. Him being rude to Nesta was shitty.
But him doing right by everyone was the nicest thing he did. Him sacrificing himself without question was good. But does it negate his shitty behaviour I dont know the younger me who fell in love with him might just think that. The now me cant hate him completely either. I understand what he kinda tried to do in the long run. And just failed cos his a man... haha I'm not sure.
Together again the most powerful man and this women who had all the gifts I cant help but question what's the point of the powers if u dont use them.
As a couple they work like I said aspects of them I liked and then others I just couldn't stand. But I'm not a complete hater. I can always think of atleast 1 thing they did that made me happy or smile.
