Tricks and Treats
Your phone chimes as you reach your destination, and you look up from the GPS to the building before you. Spellbound Delights...it was a bakery that had just opened here, advertising pastries and treats imbued with magic. It was run by a supposed "cake witch," and you were curious about that. You've never heard of that kind of witch, did they just...conjure cakes? Were conjured cakes just as real as authentically baked ones? Curious and craving sweets, you came to find an answer. Today was its grand opening, and you came early to be the first to check it out. There wasn't anyone else here but you thankfully, and you stepped inside the bakery.
You were immediately greeted by the sweet smell of pastries and tarts, the display case was full of freshly made treats and there was even a platter set out of things to try. Some of them glittered, others constantly shifted their colors...these must be the magical ones, wonder what they do? There didn't seem to be anyone behind the counter, but you could hear someone's singing coming from the back of the bakery. However lovely their voice was you wanted a snack, so you called out to them. The singing stops, and the sound of heels clicking against the floor rapidly approaches you. A surprisingly tall woman now stands before you, her smile bright.
"Well hi there, sugar! I wasn't expecting to get a customer so early! Couldn't resist the allure of my treats, hmm~?" You take in her features rather than replying, as the first thing you noticed that her hair was made of frosting. Thick white curls fell to the side of her face and down her back, smelling of sweet cream cheese. She was wearing a frilly apron over an equally frilly red dress that went down to her knees, and she sported a red hat with white highlights and a large dollop of frosting on it. She really seemed to take the cake theme seriously, but it seemed like every part of her was made of the stuff. Noting how you stared, she gave you a patient smile and leaned against the counter. "Heehee, curious? My name's Chiffon, and I'm the only cake witch of my kind! I pioneered the field, in fact! Studying the magic permanently changed my body into cake...so why not open a bakery? I want my hard work to change lives for the better~" Her whole body was cake? Now that changed a few things. You tell her that you were interested in some of her goods made with magic, and you want to know what some of them are and what they do. Lighting up like a christmas tree, the witch sits up straight with a smile. "Of course! See, these turnovers here can grant you good luck for the whole day, and those blueberry scones can give you a confidence boost….these here are just regular apple fritters, but they're absolutely delectable!" As Chiffon rambles on about cakes that can cure curses and pies that can grant flight, you eye her with a hungry stare. You occasionally had some more…predatory inclinations, and while you had come here for a sweet snack there was something far sweeter and more filling right in front of you. The biggest cake of all was right here, why not enjoy it? You just need to take the chance….
Interrupting her ramble, you tell Chiffon that you're looking to...taste some of her goods before buying any. She gestures proudly to a tray of snacks she set out, presumably for customers to try. "Sure thing, honeybun~ Might I recommend the petit fours? They're small, but flavorful!" You had no intention of actually buying anything now that you had your eyes on the prize, but you might as well play along and make your move while she was distracted. You pick up one of the little cakes, admiring the cute star candy it was decorated with before taking a bite. It tasted sweet and had strawberry frosting inside, and you hummed in delight at its flavor. At the very least it tasted great, and a warmth started to flow through you. Maybe this cake was magic? It probably did something cute, like make it so you'd be happy all day...you would be when you got a taste of Chiffon, that's for sure. However…. When did the bakery get a bit bigger? Or rather, when did you get a bit smaller? Chiffon's heels clicking against the floor got your attention, and you looked to see her towering over you. She has a small but somewhat smug grin, and she leans down to your level.
"Maybe you should've asked more about those, sweetie~ The "petit" part is rather literal! You didn't get as small as I thought, though...guess you have a bit of magic resistance in you! Oh well, you're even cuter like this...like a little teddy bear!" You're very confused, but before you can ask her hands wrap around your waist and lift you up much like a cat. She brings you up to her face, her smile growing wider. Your befuddled expression earns a chuckle out of her, and her grip gets a bit tighter. "I saw the looks you were giving me...it wasn't the snacks in the case you wanted, was it? Sorry sugar, but I'm never on the menu~" You pale a bit, she knew? You were in trouble now. "You know...you look cute enough to eat right now~ Guess you're learning the hard way that this snack bites back, huh?" She lifts you up above her head, and you start wriggling around as you realize her plans. "Come now, you'll be just fine! I only hope that you won't be too rattled after this...I'd like it if you came by again sometime, hehe~" Come back? She was going to eat you! You wriggle but she waves her free hand, and you find your movements slowing down and becoming sluggish. "Settle down, you'll be just fine~ Haven't you always wanted to lay on some soft cake? Well, you'll be laying in it soon!" Without wasting any more time she opens her mouth, lowering you inside. Her tongue comes up and grazes your legs and you shudder a bit, regretting wearing shorts out today. You were far too big for her to eat in one go, so she opted to take her time as she steadily lowered you in farther. A deep slow gulp marks the start of your descent, and you find that even if you had the strength to wiggle you couldn’t. The cakey muscles of her throat were tight, and her saliva seemed to be...sticky? Was it some kind of glaze? Whatever it was it clung to you, and you slowly sunk into her mouth with each swallow. Chiffon hummed and you could feel the vibrations around you, supposedly she liked the way you tasted. You were pulled into her throat without much incident, now slowly sliding down towards her stomach. Interestingly enough you could hear the sounds of her body working, seems like everything still worked even after being turned into living food. While her biology did interest you, you didn’t want a look this close! Peristalsis seemed to be doing its job rather well despite your sticky situation, and after a few moments it pushed you into a somewhat more spacious chamber. The walls were slick much like a real stomach’s, but they were so much more softer. You landed in a pool of glaze, similar to the kind you’d put on donuts. Was this her equivalent of stomach acids…? It felt warm in here, like a freshly baked cake, and the walls closed in with a delighted growl to rub against you and check you out. The witch herself sighed happily from above, giving the bump you made in her middle a gentle rub. The way her dress puffed out should cover you nicely, though you filled her up pretty well...she’ll manage with a bit of extra weight, today was the grand opening of her bakery after all! “So~ How do you like feeling that that cake felt? You’d have to try a lot harder than that to get your hands on me, cutie~” She chuckled, and you found your face flushing a bit in embarrassment. “Not to worry, though….you’ll be safe. I’ll just have to hold onto you for a while for trying to ruin my opening day! I promise to get you cleaned up when you’re out, I’m not cruel. Enjoy your ride!” She started to move, and your world rocked gently back and forth. It smelled really sweet in here, and the warmth was honestly nice...she wasn’t being malicious, so you didn’t feel as tense as you used to. Maybe you could just mellow out and relax in here, with the consistent movement of her stomach allowing you to relax. You wondered however, if there was any kind of magic that could safely get all this glaze out of your hair and clothes...

Valentines Day
Riddle - Strawberry white chocolate in the shape of strawberries, or, strawberry white chocolate truffles covered in cookie crumbs
Ace - store bought chocolate covered cherries
Deuce - Chocolate flan (for extra fun/cuteness, find a way to carve a little Spade on top so when there's chocolate syrup on it, it shows up really well)
Cater - diamond shaped chocolates, mostly unsweetened savory-ish flavors like spicy chilis, kinako (toasted soybean powder), and with salt flakes, with interesting patterns and textures on the tops, like there's some things you can use to make chocolate look holographic (look up “holographic chocolate” )
Trey - if you are up to it, make a mousse cake with soft purple colored glaze, topped with candied violets
Leona - one of those bags of dick gummies with “eat a bag of dicks” - honestly drawing a blank, he seems super picky about stuff cause he's a rich brat and would complain about most things. Maybe just send a letter to Cheka like “I was going to ask your uncle Leona if he wanted to be my valentine but he said he wants to be your valentine instead” and revel in it
Jack - white chocolate mousse with a whole poached pear
Ruggie - A fully decked out donut with chocolate glaze, frosting, drizzle, and various cookies. Don’t forget a bottle of milk
Azul - lament that you wanted to make him a deep fried candy bar but that would be like his whole calorie allowance for the day. Instead, Give him some nice healthy dark chocolates.
Jade - Filled Mushroom shaped chocolates, extra points if you use edible paint to make them really look like real kinds of mushrooms, especially toxic ones, cause it's fun.
Floyd - Make little sea creature shaped chocolates in fun flavors and additives, like rice crisps, potato chips, pop rocks.
Kalim - Would be happy with anything you give him.
Jamil - Reject Kalims invitation to a feast for once Would also be happy with anything you give him.
Vil - Dark chocolates with antioxidant-rich dried berries and almonds
Epel - A box of smoked meats, if Vil or Rook could find out, go “oh no, i had some chocolates for you, but there's only this box of delicious smoked beef instead, shoot, I guess i'll just have to give you this instead of the chocolates”
Rook - A big chocolate heart with “please stop stalking me” written on it - He would probably like any handmade chocolates you make
Idia - chocolates in the shape of a really bad, cringe meme.
Ortho - a handmade Valentines day card with lots of computer puns
Malleus - filled chocolates in the shape of gargoyles (make sure they are actually gargoyles and not grotesques) bonus points if you can make them look like ones that he likes
Silver - would be happy with any chocolates you make him.
Sebek - bag of dicks #2, chocolate bust of Malleus, would accept anything you give him, but don't expect him to be openly grateful about it.
Lilia - Tomato chocolate (it's a thing) bonus points if you make it in the shape of a tomato.

this is my list of kamen riders as desserts. some of them are like ready to serve at the rider diner and some are just based on the vibes I get from the character but with some small edits you could put them right on the rider diner menu
shouichi is carrot cake bc it’s a dessert but it has homegrown veggies in it. I feel like carrot cake has a simple and unpretentious vibe too. absolutely with little carrots piped on top
tendou is some kind of wagashi thats served on a leaf like this youkan. served with green tea of course. I just think tendou is very Traditional
ryoutarou is a parfait. sweet comfort food but with a lot going on. you would swap in different flavors for the different imagin. although momo could be tough bc he’s a peach but you would want some kind of red fruit instead of peaches. ura has to be blueberry bc that’s the only blue fruit. kin I think would be mostly honey flavored maybe with some yuzu. and ryuu is peanut butter and grape jelly
wataru is red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting. red velvet bc its red like blood and hes a vampire, cream cheese bc it’s the best frosting. for decoration you should cover the cake with isomalt shards to look like stained glass
tsukasa is opera cake bc it’s fancy and has a lot of layers like how decade’s helmet has lines. ok I didn’t notice this pic had covfefe in th ebackground until now. thank you. anyway tsukasa opera cake would be even taller and skinnier than this with perfectly defined layers
philip and shoutarou are two scoops of ice cream, matcha for philip and milk chocolate for shou. stick a wafer thin v-shaped cookie of the opposite flavor in each one for that W look
eiji is something with sweet potato bc it’s a very earthy flavor and easy to eat while camping out. I really picture a banana bread but with sweet potato instead for him but if you want to stick with a color theme you could do ube instead. no one get on my case about how ube isn’t a type of sweet potato
gentarou is one of those huge sundaes that you need about 20 people to eat. I couldn’t find a pic of one that was quite as crazy as I’m picturing so I went with this but think about the ones that are so big they’re served in a bucket and they have every topping known to man
haruto is a little entrements dome with mirror glaze. I know if it’s a dessert haruto would want to eat it would have to be plain sugar donuts but fuck that. this is something that’s very flashy and shiny, probably with sugar crystals encrusted on the outside instead of nuts like this one. when you cut it open it’s a white vanilla mousse with thin layers of cake/jelly/custard/whatever in each of the other colors wizard transforms into
kouta is a cupcake bc they’re small and basic but you can do a lot of crazy stuff with them. sorry I called kouta basic. I think an orange flavored cupcake full of orange zest with a slice of candied orange stuck in the frosting. if you really want gaim vibes dye the frosting blue
shinnosuke should be something coffee flavored I think. bc what gets you in top gear more than drinking a nice cup of coffee. macarons are maybe a little too delicate for him but it would be really cute to do black coffee flavored macarons with maybe a raspberry filling and you pipe white frosting on them to make them look like little tires
sento’s some molecular gastronomy shit where you have to scoop up a pile of foam and it tastes like bubble gum. ok actually for sento it would be cute to do a thin chocolate sphere that you pour chocolate or caramel on to melt it away and then inside is a little cake marbled red and blue

Breakfast! 1.) Have you ever eaten a “balanced breakfast” like they show in cereal commercials (I.E., bowl of cereal, fruit, glass of orange juice)? Haha no. I’ve said this a lot lately I feel like, but my “breakfast” consists of a big cup of coffee and a donut or a couple muffins.
2.) When’s the last time you made someone breakfast? Uhh. I’ve made my mom eggs and toast before, but it was a few years ago when she was on bed rest due to a knee injury.
3.) What’s your favorite cereal? Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Cap’N Crunch, Fruity Pebbles.
4.) What’s the highest calorie, most terrible for you breakfast you’ve ever had? I don’t know. Fast food stuff maybe? Maybe even stuff from a restaurant.
5.) Would you rather get breakfast from McDonald’s or Burger King? McDonald’s.
6.) Waffles or pancakes? Waffles.
7.) Eggs or cereal? I like both. Actually, I feel like I’m in the mood for cereal more so at night than for breakfast.
8.) Milk or orange juice? Ew neither.
9.) PopTart or Toaster Strudel? I like both.
10.) Do you even eat breakfast? I already explained what I have in the mornings.
11.) Do you take vitamins with your breakfast? No.
Lunch! 1.) When do you usually eat lunch? Around noonish.
2.) Did you get notes from your parents in your lunch when you were little? No.
3.) If you had one, what did your lunch box look like? I had a few different ones as a kid. I remember in kindergarten it was a red mickey mouse one. In middle school I switched to brown paper lunch bags.
4.) What’d you have for lunch today? Leftover meatballs from yesterday. Yum.
5.) Do you like to go out for lunch? Where? Sure, when I can. It varies depending on what I’m in the mood for. Or I’ll get fast food to bring back home.
6.) Do you have/want any cute sandwich cutters? (They decrust your sandwich into a shape) I’ve never thought about it.
7.) Do you sit with/meet with anyone for lunch often? I’m at home for lunch. I’m no longer in school, and I don’t have a job.
8.) Have you ever had a peanut butter and butter sandwich, or does it sound appealing at all? I have not.
9.) Is your lunch usually a hot food or a cold food? Hot.
10.) Has the word “lunch” been repeated so many times it’s a meaningless word by now? No?
Dinner/Supper! 1.) Do you follow the health rule of having a small dinner and big breakfast? Nope.
2.) Do you ever say a prayer before eating dinner? I say one in the morning and at night.
3.) What’s your favorite take out dinner, if you have one? Pizza, fast food, Five Guys, or from a restaurant.
4.) Have you ever been taken out to a nice restaurant for a dinner date? No.
5.) Did you grow up eating dinner with your family? How do you think that affected you? We don’t sit around the table and eat dinner, but we still have dinner together. We like to watch TV together and catch up on shows we like to watch. Something to just relax and spend time together. I enjoy doing that.
6.) Do you have “nice” dinner plates for special occasions? Yes.
7.) Do you ever eat frozen dinners? Yeah.
8.) What dinner foods can you cook?
Something simple like a frozen dinner, Lean Cuisine, or pizza that I can put in the microwave or oven. I’m not a cook. My mom makes dinner.
9.) White or red meat (or their vegetarian substitute counterparts)? White.
10.) Soup or salad? Salad.
Dessert! 1.) Do you ever get dessert at a restaurant when they ask? Very, very rarely. I’m always too full by then.
2.) Is there a dessert food most people like that you hate? With the exception of banana cream and cheesecake, I don’t like pie. We always have a cherry, apple, or pumpkin pie for the holidays and I don’t like either of those.
3.) Cupcakes or real cake? I like both. Cupcakes are a little more convenient.
4.) Ice cream or pie? Ice cream, but I don’t eat it all that often.
5.) What kind of birthday cake (or other sweet birthday type thing) do you usually get? White cake with buttercream frosting or funfetti.
6.) What was your favorite childhood birthday cake? I’m not sure.
7.) Do you have a favorite foreign (to a Westerner, anyway :P) desserts? (Baklava, biscotti, churros…) I like churros, beignets, crepes, and macaroons.
8.) Do you bake sweets? Which are you best at? I do like to bake now and then. I currently have a few recipes I want to try out, actually.
9.) Have you ever had a good “diet” dessert, like something endorsed by Weight Watchers? What was it? Yeah. Some of the snack things are good. I don’t like diet tasting chocolate, but I’ve had other good stuff. I really like SnackWell’s vanilla creme sandwich cookies, and Atkin’s Sweet and Salty Trail Mix that has caramel and chocolate crisps, peanut butter clusters, and M&M like candies.
10.) What’s your dream dessert? Hmm. That’s tough! There’s so many delicious goodies. I made the mistake of following a lot of food and dessert blogs lately. Omg.
11.) Do you watch shows like Cake Boss or Cupcake Wars? I used to watch Cake Boss a lot. It’s been awhile now.
Snacks! 1.) What’s the best candy in the world? I like white chocolate a lot, whether it’s just a white chocolate candy bar or a white chocolate version of Reese’s or Kit Kat.
2.) Do you eat more snacks or full meals? Snacks for sure.
3.) Is there anything you find yourself eating when you’re bored? I love me some junk food.
4.) Do drinks with calories count as a snack? Not to me.
5.) What’s your favorite food that’s usually served at parties? The appetizers.
6.) Do you eat in class? If so, what is it, usually? When I was in college I did sometimes.
7.) Honestly, are your snacks healthy or bad for you? Bad, but oh so good.
8.) Potato chips or trail mix? Chips. Chips and dip are the best snack.
9.) What do you usually get at the movie theater? Popcorn, usually. However, our theater finally started serving other foods and I got onion rings the last time we went. Yum.
10.) Did you get fruit snacks with your favorite character on them when you were little? Yeah.
11.) Do you remember any sayings from conversation hearts? Which is your favorite? Yeah. I get ‘em still every year cause I like them.
Food in general! 1.) Do you buy generic brand food? Sometimes.
2.) Is there a common food you find repulsive? I really don’t like bacon, but everyone else seems obsessed with it. It’s on everything.
3.) What’s your favorite “ethnic” cuisine? Italian.
4.) If you were stranded in a zombie apocalypse with only a full, run-of-the-mill and full-of-junk vending machine for food, which items would you eat first? Ahh. That’d be hard because I’d want to spread it out as long as I could. I’d probably want to spare my favorites for last.

Delicious Christmas Dessert Recipes
It’s finally time for apple cinnamon and pumpkin spice to take a back seat. Winter is coming, and we must shine the spotlight on cooling peppermint treats and spiced eggnog recipes. With Christmas in just a few weeks, you’re probably starting to think about the cookies you want to whip up for your annual cookie exchange; maybe you’re even thinking about creating some edible gifts for friends and coworkers. Whatever the case may be, you’re going to have to yank the flour and sugar out of the pantry at some point. Luckily, we’ve got 30 holiday desserts that will give you all the inspiration you need.
1. Cranberry Tart With Almond Cream: If the cranberry sauce at your Thanksgiving dinner didn’t sate your cranberry needs, this festive tart will. Fresh cranberries are piled into a shortbread crust over a luscious almond cream, and it’s kind of the best thing ever. (via Mimi Claire)
2. Orange Glazed Donuts With Sugared Rosemary: One of the best things about donuts is they can be enjoyed as both a dessert *and* as a sweet breakfast option; you’ll want one for each occasion. The citrus-infused glaze and sugared herbs create the ultimate holiday treat. (via Lau Sunday Cooks)
3. Dark Chocolate Cranberry Almond Biscotti: We hope you’re ready for additional caffeine, because you’ll be brewing an extra cup a day just for an excuse to dip and devour these beauties. Delicious and totally addicting, these munchies are packed with almonds and cranberries and dipped in chocolate. (via Little Broken)
4. Peppermint Bark Cookies: What pumpkin spice is to fall, peppermint is to winter — and you just can’t get through the snowy season without indulging in some sweet and cool peppermint bark. The combination of chocolate and mint are a delight, and this treat pairs wonderfully with a cup of hot cocoa. (via The Whole Bite)
5. Mexican Wedding Cakes: If your mom ever took part in cookie exchanges when you were growing up, you know these amazing little bites are classic. These tiny snowballs are slightly salty, super nutty, buttery, and downright delish. (via So Munch Love)
6. Rum-Spiked Eggnog Crème Brûlée: We’re not quite sure what the best part of crème brûlée is — breaking through the brittle caramelized sheet of sugar, or scooping out the silky custard post-breakthrough. Either way, we need to dig into this spiked eggnog version STAT. (via The Cozy Apron)
7. Rum and Eggnog Bundt Cake: We like big bundts and we cannot lie; a slice of this, we can’t deny! Flavored with rum and eggnog, this luscious cake is slathered with a generous coating of eggnog cream cheese icing that will make your tastebuds sing. (via Liv for Cake)
8. Almond Thumbprint Cookies With Orange Cardamom Jam: It truly isn’t the holidays without some jam-filled thumbprint cookies to munch on. Though a berry jam is most commonly used, the use of this cardamom-spiced orange jam is brilliant. WE’RE NOT DROOLING, YOU ARE. (via Faring Well)
9. Mincemeat Cupcakes With Mascarpone Frosting: These starry cupcakes are almost too cute to eat…almost. With mascarpone frosting, these mincemeat cakes offer us sugar and spice, and everything nice. (via Supergolden Bakes)
10. Healthy Gluten-Free Ginger Candy Scones: It’s not often we see the words “healthy” and “candy” in the same sentence, but when we do, we’re filled with glee. These flaky and soft scones are spiced with ginger and drizzled with a creamy maple frosting. (via Paleo and Gluten-Free Eats)
11. Eggnog Cheesecake Brownies: With creamy eggnog cheesecake swirling into fudge-y goodness, these brownies are a thing of magic. Even eggnog naysayers will fall in love with these soft and chewy bites. (via A Cookie Named Desire)
12. Almond Biscotti Christmas Tree: This jaw-dropping edible arrangement works as both a dessert and a centerpiece. It’s a shame it’ll be destroyed by the hands of hungry guests, but it’ll surely keep things festive while it lasts. (via Gather and Dine)
13. Apple and Mincemeat Filo Wreath: This swoon-worthy recipe stuffs crisp apples and mincemeat into a flaky filo pastry, resulting in complete dessert heaven. Adorned with cranberries and drizzled with custard, this treat is guaranteed to be a hit at any holiday party. (via Domestic Gothess)
14. Chocolate Candy Cane Bundt Cake: We know you’re thinking it because we’re thinking it — be still, my heart! This rich, minty and chocolatey cake is dripping with a minty glaze and topped with crushed candy canes. Can you say flavor bomb? (via Crumb Kitchen)
15. No-Bake Chocolate Orange Greek Yogurt Cheesecake: If you’ve been assigned dessert duty this year, we’ve got you covered with this *glorious* treat. Decorated with candied orange slices, this no-bake cheesecake is full of rich and bright flavors that will surely impress. (via Nutmeg Nanny)
16. Smoked Bourbon Vanilla Bean and Salted Caramel Crème Brûlée Macarons: Macarons are a delicate work of art, but they are SO worth the effort when you can sit back and admire your chic creation. This recipe brings a dash of sophistication by combining boozy with sweet. (via Butter and Brioche)
17. Speculoos Apple Tart: If you’re unfamiliar with Speculoos, think cookie butter. That’s the flavor we’re dealing with here, and we couldn’t be more stoked. With the ultimate combo of apples and cinnamon, this lovely tart won’t stand a chance at the dessert table. (via Mamangerie)
18. Yule Log: Fluffy chocolate cake and a smooth cream filling make this bûche de Noël a must-try. Just don’t accidentally throw it in the fireplace! (via Culinary Ginger)
19. Struffoli: Neapolitan cuisine is know for its sweets, and these crispy Christmas honey balls are no exception. They’re like Italian donut holes. Decorate them with candied citrus zest and sprinkles. (via Philoso Kitchen)
20. Cherry and Pistachio Bakewell Tart: This cherry-jam-filled tart is topped with a creamy pistachio-almond filling, then baked until fragrant and delicious. (via Simmer & Boyle)

3 Tips for Building a Candy Buffet
Candy buffets are one of the most popular additions to any party or family gathering because they provide handfuls of everyone's favorite sweet treats. So if you are interested in creating one for your next social event, try out these three helpful tips to make sure it is a big hit:
Have a Theme to Focus On
Having bowls of candy sitting out on a table won't attract your guest's attention. The most successful candy buffets are those that look like time and effort were spent putting them together. So use some type of theme when you arrange the candy. For example, try setting trays of our candy in a row behind a child's tractor toy. Tie the trays together at the ends with some string. Use frosting to stick donuts along the sides of the trays to make them look like wheels. Then, add a few miniature hay bales, pots of flowers, and some scarecrows. That way, it looks like a fall farm scene. Or set up a carnival-style candy buffet. Use lollipops pushed into a foam ball with some toy horses to make a carousel. And tie balloons to small bags of candy. Attach everything to a table that is decorated like a clown's face with more candy.
Offer a Wide Variety of Candy
Everyone has different types of candy that they love. So the more kinds of candy that you offer, the more likely that there will be something that each person will want to eat. Go for a variety of candy that has different textures, flavors, and colors. For instance, try having some of our taffy, candy-covered chocolates, gummies, and hard candies. Order at least 6 ounces of candy for each person that will be at the event.
Pair Our Candy Up With Some Other Treats
Candy goes great with lots of other desserts and snacks. It makes a great ice cream and brownie topping. Or it can be mixed in with popcorn and trail mix. And don't forget to add some sweet sodas to wash everything down. The other treats should be set out in small cups at the sides of the candy buffet to make everything easier to eat. All of the candy should be in the center of the table though since it is the main attraction. Unwrap any of the candy that is prepackaged. And add some spoons to make it easier to scoop over the other treats. Don't forget to plan for warm weather by keeping everything cool with a bottom layer of ice. No one wants their ice cream and chocolates to melt all over before anyone has a chance to eat them.
So remember, the next time that you have a special event, be sure to set up a candy buffet using these three tips. If you need any help deciding on what kind of candy to order, just give us a call. One of our customer service representatives will be happy to help you.

20 foods that seem healthy but aren't
Brittany Smith Today
The health and fitness craze that's swept our nation in the last decade can be seen quite literally across every supermarket and storefront. "Fit foods" emblazoned with "organic," "low-fat," "no sugar added," and best of all, "all-natural" marketing jargon are, for the most part, just marketing jargon.
A lot of the foods we snack on or eat as part of our everyday diet aren't the beacons of health and wellness we think they are if you take a look at their labels or dive more into what's actually in the food under the label. Take a look through our list of the worst offenders; these are some of the most common foods we think are healthy but really aren't. Avoiding these eats can make the difference between slight definition and eight-pack-with-sex-lines abs.
20 foods that seem healthy but aren't
1 of 20
Energy bars
Nearly every energy and protein bar boasts lofty health claims, but many times they have nutritional profiles more similar to candy bars than fit foods. Literally. Some bars have as much sugar as candy. That’s not to say you should banish them all, but take special care to look at the amount of sugar, calories, and ingredients. (Check out these Men's Fitness-approved healthy protein and snack bars instead.)
Diet soda
A soda a day can increase a man's risk of prostate cancer by 40 percent, compared to a man who never touches the stuff, according to a study published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition. And diet soda? It’s no better. In fact, it may actually be worse. The artificial sweeteners in diet soda fool your body into thinking you’re eating real food and causes a spike in insulin sent to regulate your levels (since artificial sweeteners are so much sweeter than actual sugar), which can turn into stored fat, according to a Purdue University study. Research shows soda consumption increases your risk of heart attack and stroke, makes you eat more, and, well, see for yourself…
Flavored instant oatmeal
We’ve said it before, we’ll say it again, and we’ll keep on saying it: Instant oatmeal doesn’t do your health any justice. Flavored, single-serving packets have way too much added sugar, and therefore, way too many unnecessary calories. Stick with the giant tub of instant oatmeal if you like the convenience factor, and add fruit and spices like cinnamon and nutmeg to maximize flavor without minimizing any health benefits. Steel-cut oats are even better; they’ll provide you with long-lasting energy, help promote weight loss, and lower your risk of heart disease.
Bran muffins
Oh, the power of words and associations. “Bran” sounds healthy, albeit a little boring. And it is: Bran is the outer layer of grains like wheat, rice, and oats that offers a healthy dose of fiber, protein, vitamins, and low-glycemic carbs. But bran muffins tip the scale toward not-so-great for you because most portions triple what you should be eating and may contain more wheat flour than bran itself. Store-bought muffins are often loaded with sodium and sugar to combat the dry, tasteless flavor of bran, too. To put things into perspective, a Honey Bran Raisin Muffin from Dunkin’ Donuts has 40g of sugar, 410mg of sodium, and 120 calories, while a Chocolate Frosted Cake Donut has 20g of sugar, 340mg of sodium, and 170 calories. Bake your own at home to control the ingredients and portion size.
Packaged Turkey
Using leftover turkey to make a sandwich for lunch is an excellent choice for a quick, simple dose of protein. But this lean sandwich staple can turn into a sodium-saturated disaster when it's store-bought. That’s because packaged meats are often loaded with salt and preservatives. Opt for brands that don’t have more than 350mg of sodium per 2 oz serving.
Dried Fruit
Dried fruit seems like an innocent snack; it’s fruit, after all. But companies use sulfur dioxide to preserve freshness and add sugar to sweeten the flavor (cranberries and pineapple among the worst), making dried fruit more akin to candy. Though you’re still getting a good source of vitamins, minerals, and fiber, it’s incredibly easy to overeat. That chewy addition to trail mix and yogurt isn’t as healthy as you think, wish, hoped it was.
12 Healthy Foods and Drinks That Can Make You Fat >>>
Wraps
Wraps are thinner than hoagies, buns, and bread, so they’ve gotta be healthier, right? Eh, sometimes, but most restaurants and to-go shops wrap all your sandwich fixings in a 12-inch wrap that can pack twice the amount of calories as plain old bread. Plus, spinach, tomato, and whole grain wraps don’t contain nearly as much veggies and whole grains as you’d think; more often than not, they’ve got additional coloring and flavoring. The problem with pre-made wraps, too, is you can’t control what’s in them. The bacon, ham, and ranch dressing can’t be taken out once they’re rolled up, and odds are you’re not getting additional veggies to add to your mix.
Five Fast Lunches to Build More Muscle >>>
Pretzels
They may be your go-to snack because they’re fat-free, but pretzels don’t really have any nutritional value. They’re made with white flour, which quickly converts to sugar in your body, spiking blood sugar and causing your hunger levels to rise (that's why you can polish off an entire bag and still be hungry). Pretzels should be avoided as a desk-side or late-night snack; go for foods that are high in protein and fiber instead.
25 Foods You Shouldn't Eat >>>
Sports drinks
Sports drinks are a lot like Kool Aid—they’re basically just sugar water and artificial food coloring. Their big selling point, electrolytes, are easily restored with natural foods and drinks like coconut water and bananas, so skip the artificial recovery drink. A study published in the journal Obesity even found individuals who drink one or more sports drinks every day gained more weight over a three-year span than those who don’t.
Agave nectar
Producers slap the word “natural” on nearly any food product because that term helps convince people it’s healthy. Agave nectar has been hailed the natural substitute to evil artificial sweetener, but it has more fructose than any other common sweetener, including high fructose corn syrup. Sure, it’s low on the glycemic index, but that’s not a free pass to drench your oatmeal and drown your iced tea with the stuff.
Everything You Need to Know About Today's Most Popular Sweeteners >>>
Yogurt-Covered Snacks
We’re going to let you in on a secret: Yogurt-covered snacks sometimes aren’t covered with yogurt. Those tubs of pretzels and raisins are likely just covered in sugar (and fat). More specifically, a ¼-cup serving of yogurt-covered raisins has about 150 calories, a third of which comes from fat, while the rest comes from carbs. Want an easy fix? Top your raisins with plain Greek yogurt.
Protein Power: 6 Easy Ways to Eat Yogurt >>>
Skim/low-fat milk
Skim milk is skimping on a lot of the factors that make whole milk so healthy. Yes, you’re getting rid of the fat, but you’re also stripping away essential vitamins (as well as texture and flavor). To combat this, skim milk is fortified with synthetic vitamins in an attempt to replace the protein and calcium lost in processing. Overall, there’s really little benefit to buying fat-free dairy products. You want to keep the processing and denaturation to a minimum.
20 Foods an Athlete Would Never Eat >>>
Margarine
Margarine is the inexpensive butter substitute that took the late 1800s by storm when chemists learned how to harden liquid oils. Nutritionally speaking, it has less saturated fat than butter because it’s made from vegetable oils, not animal fat; all in all it depends if you want to rely on cows or chemists. But that tub of I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter! you have in your fridge today is scarier than it seems. Vegetable oil is extracted from corn, soybeans, or safflower seeds, then steamed to remove impurities (along with vitamins and antioxidants), hydrogenated to make it semi-solid (producing a lumpy, grey grease), emulsified to remove lumps, bleached to remove the grey color, steamed again to remove chemical odors, and then synthetic vitamins and colors are added in the end. Does your “healthier" butter seem so healthy now?
The 8 Absolute Worst Foods You Can Pump Into Your Body >>>
Fruit juice
Most packaged fruit juices are sugar-packed; not the health elixirs we so desperately want them to be. Fruit in its whole form has healthy fiber in its flesh and vitamins and nutrients in its skin that’s lost in juice form. Plus, you’re not chewing the liquid, so all the fructose-laden sugar is rocketed to your liver where it can be lodged and stored as fat. If you want a glass for breakfast, opt for tart cherry or grape juice (unsweetened) to get a recovery boost after tough workouts.
8 Power Fruits For Better Health >>>
Flavored yogurt
That tiny cup of yogurt you eat for breakfast (that doesn’t fill you up and leaves you rummaging for more food) is packed with more sugar than you’d ever suspect. Most brands have close to 15g per 6oz serving. Stop wasting your money and ruining your diet; make the switch to plain Greek yogurt. You’ll feel more satisfied and have a dose of protein to really start your day right.
Canned soup
Canned soup is the solution for last-minute lunch or dinner laziness. The problem is that you’re overloading your system with sodium (some have 400mg per cup) and some cans’ plastic linings have BPA. Make a giant homemade batch over a weekend and freeze it in smaller portions to get you through the colder seasons.
10 Pumpkin Recipes You Can Eat on The Shred >>>
Pita chips
Nearly all pita chips are made with enriched wheat flour (a refined grain that doesn’t have nearly the fiber or nutrients found in whole-grain flour) or white flour, oil, and salt. It may not seem that bad, but a study published in Current Atherosclerosis Reports found a diet full of refined grains and starches increases a person’s risk for heart disease, diabetes, weight gain, even cancer. Plus, they may not be that greay, but they still pack a caloric punch and it's hard to stop after eating just a handful.
Healthy Snack Alternatives For Every Craving Type >>>
Granola
It’s an amazing yogurt add-on, great with a splash of milk, and even a filling snack on its own, but nearly all granola brands add sugar and oil during the cooking process. Some are loaded with seeds, nuts, and dried fruit, which up the fat content, too. Opt for brands that have a blend of oats, whole grains, and other natural ingredients.
10 Gluten-Free Breakfast Recipes >>>
Fruit and vegetable chips
Surprise! Fruit and veggie chips actually contain very little fruits and vegetables because of how processed they are. What’s more, most of the nutrients are destroyed because of this, as well. What you end up with is a chip that’s artificially colored and flavored to look and taste like a vegetable or fruit.
8 Vegetables For Guys Who Hate Greens >>>
Fruit cocktail
Fruit cocktail is an appealing snack whether you eat it from the can or those little portable cups. The issue is one cup has about 110 calories and over 25g of sugar (In. One. Small. Cup.). They’re often packaged in syrup, which isn’t doing you any favors either. Grab a pear, peach, apple, or any other piece of fruit instead; they’re just as portable and way more nutritious.
