i think a lot more ppl need to get comfortable with the fact that some ppl self describe as ugly not as a way to tear themselves down but as an acknowledgement of the beauty standards that exist and how, even with "expanding" the definition of beauty, we still Do Not fit into that expansion and NO amount of expansion of beauty ideals is going to change that.

#personal #vent?#idk i just think a lot abt my existence as an ugly person #i think i am great!#and i am also aware i am ugly even in spaces where the “weird” and “odd” is celebrated #and im okay with that now because i know i am never going to fit into beauty standards #even when i tried to hide who i was i never could #and this isnt abt white cishets needing to get comfortable w this concept either #like yeah we can spread positivity calling everyone beautiful la la l a #but also ppl have worth out of their beauty #and some of us are PAINFULLY aware that the only time we're seen as ��beautiful” is when we're useful to others #ie: sex objects or romantic interests or caretakers #like this is prevalent in LITERALLY every space ive been in regardless of the ground rules set #and as someone who has Always been in the undesireable category its weird seeing ppl pretend that it doesnt exist #but ppl esp desireable ppl who know there is somewhere they are desired dont actually wanna think abt it #bc desirability is linked to the ability to conform to white standards of beauty in some manner #whether is weight or race or sexuality or gender presentation #the list of traits goes on #there's a lot more to this and a lot more thoughts i have i honestly just dont wanna keep writing it #maybe i will come back and edit these tags
