also if you hate kennedy get off my blog <3 you can acknowledge that she is underwritten without being gross about the only sapphic character of colour on btvs, and the only sapphic character to be played by an actual sapphic woman.

#too much crticism of kennedy on a watsonian level not enough doylist crticism of how fucking gross it was of the writers to not only make #one of few woc & the only canon sapphic woc on the show a military brat along with (likely somewhat consciously) putting her in a position #to get unwarranted fan-hate by not only underwriting her but developing her relationship with willow at such a quick pace & with much less #emotional development between the two in comparison to willow & tara. like they were all relatively intelligent adults & with how often #they framed kennedy as outright antagonistic when she had points that were deserving of actual nuance it��s hard to believe they didn’t know #what they were doing tbh #like the writers at least somewhat knowingly put kennedy & by extension iyari limon in a really bad position as far as i’m concerned #& the fans just disgustingly went along with it uncritically #also if people can endlessly discuss spikes potential in spite of seeing red you should be able to read into kennedy’s like for fucking real #same with reading into kendra & jenny & though she plays a much smaller role even olivia with more humanity though this post isn’t abt them #kennedy #btvs
