nothing is a more clear and brutal condemnation of a piece of media than how quickly and often fans feel obligated to tell people that "it's not really bad it's just satire"

#the fact that the velma show just came out and we ALREADY have people claiming it's just a riverdale parody #and that you're not supposed to take it seriously it's not supposed to be good ect.#like that's the exact opposite of ben shapiro saying something is bad being a glowing review #if fans are immediately like 'it's satire' then it's probably fucking horrible and not worth your time #no one even knows what satire is anymore like nine times out of ten the 'it's satire' defense is coming from someone #who wouldnt know what actual satire looked like if it walked up and decked their pretentious asses right in the jaw
