Stanford never became friends with Fiddleford.

Instead he got himself a different small friend group who cares a lot about him. At least about the Ford he pretended to be in college.

A kind, soft spoken formerly bullied genius who researches very dull stuff in Oregon and definitely not anything weird. Their Ford would never break any rules or ignore safety measures [unlike that other student they heard about during their college years.]

And then Ford stops answering their calls and loses his grant. 

It’s time for an intervention and they start pestering Ford with letters and calls until he finally agrees to meet them at a science convention, but he’ll take his brother with him.

They’re relieved! Ford is with Shermie! They like Shermie! It's a good thing that Ford still has one brother who isn't a good for nothing selfish criminal who destroyed his entire future!

If they ever get their hands on Ford’s evil twin they’ll make sure he’ll regret ever messing with their friend. Ford is too nice for revenge. They aren’t.

Meanwhile at the not-yet Mystery Shack, the Stans freshly survived their own angsty canon divergent tale of two stans AU and locked Bill out of Ford's mind like a week ago.

Stan: I don’t know how long Ford will keep me around but this will be good for him. He needs some friends to take care of him after I inevitably get kicked out again!

Ford: I only agreed to this because Stan insisted and I still haven’t found a way to thank him and apologize. I hope all my “friends” die in a fire.

Late(ish) at night gman ramblings time

Honestly I have yet to find a popular theory as to what Gman is that actually feels like. right to me. Like some of them are neat ideas, if put into something fan made, but if it turned out to be canon, most of the outcomes i've seen feel like they'd be super disappointing, in my opinion of course.

I've seen theories about Gman being a Shu'ulathoi that shapeshifted into a humanoid form, and while the idea is novel, I honestly feel as though it. limits him too much. It removes the mystery aspect of him because now we know what he is, and what his motivations are. Like, if Valve ever truly confirmed that Gman is some sort of alien species that we can easily pinpoint, or even one we've seen before, it would feel like it's putting gman in a box that doesn't fit him.

To me, Gman is best left unknowable. He is a species that only has one member (maybe), he doesn't have a set true (or at least comprehensible) form, but he's definitely not human. He doesn't have a name, he has no set species that aligns with anything we have seen so far. An eldritch entity that is outside what we have observed within the Half Life universe. As much as I would love to learn more about Gman, I also fear the mystery of him being removed and overall making him feel less like a cosmic threat.

Overall I don't personally think most of the theories explaining what he could possibly be are correct for him. He is nothing, yet everything at the same time. True ambiguity.

i think. in general, jedi: fallen order is an Okay game with a pretty mediocre story. but. the build-up to the order 66 sequence is one of my favorite bits in any video game. incredibly good choices to have you able to pal around with the clone troopers minutes before it happens, have that moment where one of the troopers starts shooting at you only for it to be revealed to be part of your training, and all of it from the point of view of a kid who keeps asking why is this happening, what changed, why are they doing this.

like hell yeah, man, that’s the best possible way to preserve the shock of order 66 now that it can’t be a plot twist anymore: a horrible piece of dramatic irony as cal high fives a clone who you know will be shooting at him later.

i think claire is pretty cagey about growing up rich. like if you ask her i think she hesitates but she ends up being straightforward about it. she doesn't take it for granted. but i think she downplays it a lot. oh yeah, i grew up with money. that's super vague claire. it's not something she goes around telling people because she finds it weird and, like, tone deaf. this is not to say she's not conceited and spoiled at times lmaoo because she definitely is. it's also very much associated with her father so she doesn't want to think about it.

i'm thinking about this because i remembered chris worked as a busboy to save money so he could purse his acting career and that's a parallel to claire working as a waitress, before and after moving to la. and i think that's something they'd connect over. it's cute or whatever. his brother making him love movies etc. i think they have lots of points for bonding you know.

and then, like, chris is aware claire doesn't exactly have money at the moment. so when he finds out she grew up loadeddd he's so weirded out about it. oh yeah my vacation home in malibu. girl what. i think it's the first time his idealised view of claire is shaken.

like if you wanted to give the brotherhood’s position in this war more nuance, you wouldn’t look at the people they’re killing. you’d look at who they choose to ally themselves with. who are they choosing to let stay in power, and what sacrifices are they making with that choice. who have they decided needs to suffer for the rest of humanity to have a better chance. and within their own ranks, who gets chosen to be fed into the most dangerous missions. are they sending their best and hoping they survive, or do they send someone younger, less experienced, someone who will be less missed, someone who can’t say no, and hope that if it goes poorly that they can write off the loss. who dies here, so someone over there gets to live.

This is my first time playing a pokemon hack but this feels sooo odd... Gladion is in the place of Ken (I don't actually know the default name of the black and white 2 rival but I remember always naming him Ken when I played). I just got given a bicycle called a PokeRide and when I used it, it turned into a fletchinder. The pokemon cries weren't replaced and I didn't know that the time I spent playing this game for an ungodly amount of times still affects me to this day that I just Know the pokemon behind the cries and it feels like I've gone insane.
