was ranting to my sister about ur sketches cuz i fell in love with them and they are hitting at like 3 obsessions at once so points for u-

anyway I talked about the fenton creep stick (the joker panel) and my sister (who never watched dp) asked what it was, and after a confusing explanation we decided that a fenton creep stick can be any kind of object that is 1) long and swingable (like a crowbar or even a pipe) and 2) sturdy and not easily breakable

after being in the phandom I saw a lot of headcannons that after the ghosts appeared, the fentons started doing speeches at Casper, and they gave out fenton creep sticks "to be safe" or that the fentons sell those to Amity Parkers (THEY'RE NOT GUNS so they can do it) so pretty much everyone has one

adding those ideas to the fact that my sister thought at first that the stick had something to do with CREEPS (like pedos or stalkers cuz of the name) I now imagine the most famous design of fenton creep stick to be one of those stun sticks (that can not only be used on ghosts, but actual creeps!!!)

enjoy this idea cuz it sure gave me joy

asdfghjkl anon your brain wrinkles are amazing that idea is so funny to me. The anti-creep sticks are advertised all over town and it’s treated the same as a McDonald’s ad. No one really gives a shit but they still take note when there’s something new out.

Late(ish) at night gman ramblings time

Honestly I have yet to find a popular theory as to what Gman is that actually feels like. right to me. Like some of them are neat ideas, if put into something fan made, but if it turned out to be canon, most of the outcomes i've seen feel like they'd be super disappointing, in my opinion of course.

I've seen theories about Gman being a Shu'ulathoi that shapeshifted into a humanoid form, and while the idea is novel, I honestly feel as though it. limits him too much. It removes the mystery aspect of him because now we know what he is, and what his motivations are. Like, if Valve ever truly confirmed that Gman is some sort of alien species that we can easily pinpoint, or even one we've seen before, it would feel like it's putting gman in a box that doesn't fit him.

To me, Gman is best left unknowable. He is a species that only has one member (maybe), he doesn't have a set true (or at least comprehensible) form, but he's definitely not human. He doesn't have a name, he has no set species that aligns with anything we have seen so far. An eldritch entity that is outside what we have observed within the Half Life universe. As much as I would love to learn more about Gman, I also fear the mystery of him being removed and overall making him feel less like a cosmic threat.

Overall I don't personally think most of the theories explaining what he could possibly be are correct for him. He is nothing, yet everything at the same time. True ambiguity.

How vague he is #And how you can never truly understand who or what he is and what he's planning and why.#Something clearly feeling claustrophobic in the human form but pushes through it regardless just to fool you.#But is he even really trying to fool you? I imagine he knows just how unbelievable as a human he is the second he starts talking and moving #Maybe he just wants you to feel deeply uncomfortable around him. Better to pressure you into a deal #Like thinking about how he circled around Alyx in HLA like some sort of predator animal.#Rambling but you get what I mean i hope

Living your life minding your business #and then you get possessed by an alien force who have a Destiny they need to enact #And so controls you to go to New Orleans and hook up with a guy you’ve never met and you marry him and live with him for three years #And give birth to a son #And evidently that was what the alien wanted because once you have had a son the alien possession vacates your body #And you are in control of yourself again for the first time in three years #Married to a guy you didn’t seek out with a son you didn’t have a choice in #And the man is sweet and kind and in live with you! And thought you lived him! But you can’t bear it #So you leave him and leave the kid and hightail it back to Australia because what else can you do??#And eventually commit suicide because you can’t handle this. Your life was upended in an impossible horrifying way for three years #You disappeared from your life with no warning for three years and then showed up again to people who think you just left #It’s the Star Trek universe—‘I was mind controlled by an alien force’ is well known #But that’s not supposed to happen to you. You aren’t a starfleet adventurer you live on Earth. Why You?#I feel like. instead of giving jason todd pit madness (which is such a copout because the things he was doing as the red hood was of his own volition as a result of his trauma), people should lean into the body horror aspect of being dipped into the pit a little more.

honestly a lot of the most truly terrifying and manipulative horror-villain type characters come from romance authors who think they're writing a desireable male lead

#its so weird bc in-universe all the shitty stuff he does to the mc are apparently justified bc 1) he's conventionally attractive and #2) he's gonna grovel at some point. a really good grovel is a staple of the genre #but usually the ml is SO conventionally attractive he ends up becoming interchangeable w ANY hot guy and loops back around to being basic #like saying he has 8 pack abs or a husky voice a bazillion times does not make ur guy hot okay. not even close.#but thats forgiveable and largely a personal gripe.#then point 2 comes in and tell me why in so many books like this there's NO PATHETIC GROVEL #in so many cases its just a pathetic EXCUSE of a grovel like COME ON!! genuinely what's the point if there's no grovel why is this appealin #so in the end you're left with a guy who does terrible things and gets away with it bc everyone bends over backwards to justify it #and any bad thing that's ever happened to him(or smth bad that could happen to his 'perfect life') is used to guilt the mc into staying #bc he LOVES her and he'd do anything for her and why can't she see that? he's TRYING and who cares about the bad remember the good times?#and honestly i feel like (intentionally or otherwise) thats more accurate to how abusers are irl #as opposed to the inherently evil ireedemable monsters they're often portrayed as in fiction #and the fact that this is usually unintentional and that this is supposed to be romantic is kinda horrifying tbh #booktok #dark romance #ant speaks #ant rants
