@furiaei asked :
" will you join me for a dance? " (Penacony arc Mya @ Eden. we realize we have not bothered her in a very long time)
unprompted. || always accepting
Tumblr media
─「エデン」─  the TRAILBLAZER felt as though the line between dream and reality was blurred ever since she stepped upon the planet of festivities. penacony had left her jaded in more ways than one. how easy one could manipulate others for their own selfish desire, or how one would sacrifice things that were important to others under the premise of it not being real. people were self-centered, they came here to have one, if not several, of their desires met. things they weren't able to accomplish in the real world, they would do it here.
how she managed to come here, eden did not know. it had been made clear to her, however, that FOLLOWERS OF AHA had ways to get in and out of places they weren't supposed to. even without invitation, they would be able to warm their ways into the dreamscape and now, she was once again face to face with a mysterious woman whom she had the pleasure of meeting from time to time.
her first instinct to her invitation was to pause, eyes narrowed suspiciously. really, had she ever regarded ANY masked fools with anything less than suspicion ? wasn't it WARRANTED ?
" i should ask what are you doing here, but for some reasons, i have a feeling that i wouldn't get a proper answer unless i accept your hand first. " eden wasn't that knowledgeable when it comes to DANCING. something so intimate and elegant weren't in her nature, but anything could happen in the DREAMSCAPE, no ? even something she wasn't used to, or had done before, became something she felt as though it'd come naturally. and golden hues watched the woman with both caution and curiosity.
the TRAILBLAZER couldn't understand her, and she could even feel the power she possessed right underneath her veins. she should be more than careful around this person whom had list of CRIMES following her like shadows. but at the same time, eden could somewhat relate to that free spirit of hers. in many ways, she envied the woman for being so utterly UNBOUND that she could drift about causing troubles any way and anywhere she wanted.
such untamed spirit was so hard for her to refuse. thus, she heaved a sigh, stepping forward and extended her GLOVED DIGITS for the other. what harm could come from a single dance, right ?

Chapter 1.) Call Of The Wolf.
It had been a 3rd straight week of weird dreams for Naia Evans. She would wake up in a cold sweat, a racing heartbeat and goosebumps on her skin. And like clockwork she would lay in bed staring up at the ceiling for 2 hours. And when she was never able to go back to sleep, she would put on jogging shorts and a tank top and go for an early morning run to clear her head.
All of her dreams started after she did research about her mom’s hometown of Hunt’s Peak West Virginia. She wanted to know more about it. Because every time she asked her mother about Hunt’s Peak, her mother immediately shut her down. She was all but forbidden to mention it, but it didn’t stop her from wanting to learn more.
She would look up Hunt’s Peak on Google and see pictures of the forest, mountains and the town square. She would think of meeting the uncle she never knew. But mostly, she wondered why her mother left a seemingly sleepy town in a mountainous area.
After her early morning run, Naia hopped in the shower then got ready for work.
Life for her was as normal as it gets.
She was born Naia Michelle Evans on October 30th 1988 in Raleigh North Carolina to Laurie and Shane Evans. And being an only child, she was spoiled rotten, especially by her daddy. She had a good job as an interior designer. But she wasn’t so lucky in the love department though. After two failed relationships, Naia was back to living at home with her parents in the Washington D.C. area. Although in some way, she felt somewhat unfulfilled. She felt like there was always something missing but could never figure out what it was or why she felt that way.
After coming home from a long day of work, she was in the shower. After the bathroom filled with steam and she stepped inside the shower, she heard a voice.
“Beloved.”
It was a man's voice. One she’d heard for weeks now.
“Come.”
“No.”
She leaned against the shower wall.
“Go away!” She whined.
“Come home.”
She groaned and closed her eyes trying to block it out.
“Come to me…”
When she opened her eyes, the voice was gone. It was just her and a hot shower. She showered, changed into her pajamas then climbed into bed and went to sleep and began to dream. In her dream is where she saw a wolf.
But she wasn’t scared. Strangely, she was calm even a little bit curious. She watched its fur bristle as it walked towards her. As it got closer, she saw its beautiful eyes.
Tumblr media
They were golden and bored into her. When she reached out to touch the wolf, it changed into a man. He was what she always known as tall, fine and chocolate. But the one thing that struck her were his eyes. They were just as golden as the wolf’s eyes.
Tumblr media
He reached out a hand and she took it. Soon she was in his arms, looking up at him. She felt safe, wanted, needed and desired. She felt his strength and passion while she stood in his arms. She reached up to touch his face and watched him lean into her touch. He looked real. And when he kissed her, he felt real. Her knees felt weak and her body temperature skyrocketed. She needed him just as much as he needed her. Her body yearned for him. Her heart raced. And when their kiss ended, she was dizzy.
It felt real to her. She wanted more, especially after seeing his golden eyes. She felt a connection with this dream man and couldn’t explain it.
“Touch me…” she begged.
He tilted her chin up then whispered, “soon Beloved. Very soon we’ll be together.”
She woke up gasping for air right after those words were uttered. Breathing heavy, heart pounding in her chest and in a cold sweat with goosebumps all along her arms. Just like many nights before but this time was different. Because her body felt like it was on fire. Craving to be touched but not just by anyone. Her body craved him and his touch. When her heart stopped racing and her breathing calmed down she checked to see what time it was.
4:45am.
That’s the time her phone read after she woke up.
She sighed to herself and laid back down then eventually went back to sleep. Dreaming of his golden eyes. As weird as that dream was to her, she wanted it again. She wanted to see him again. She wanted to feel his arms around her again. She wanted to kiss him again.
Later that morning after breakfast she was in the kitchen, having a conversation with her daddy about Hunt’s Peak.
“I don’t know why you won’t but I wish you would drop this, Naia.”
“Daddy you know why I can’t.”
“Naia I’m not having this conversation with you.”
“You and mama never do! It’s like you’re ashamed to tell me anything!”
“There’s a reason for that! Just leave it alone!”
“Why won’t you tell me?”
Just then her mother walked into the kitchen and their conversation.
“Because it’s better for you to never know. Baby I know you want to know but it’s nothing that concerns you!” Her mother snapped at her.
“But mom!” She began to protest.
“No! No more! This conversation is over, Naia!”
Once again her mother shut her down.
“You two are absolutely impossible!” She fussed.
Her mother sat down at the kitchen table and looked at her daughter.
“Trust me baby, I’m doing what I know best.”
“And what is that mama?” Naia asks.
“I’m protecting you!” Her mother replies.
“From what? What could be so bad about a small sleepy town?” Naia asks.
Her mother took a deep breath before she spoke.
“When I was 18 something terrible happened. And I told people. But no one believed me. They said I was lying. That it couldn’t have happened. The people in that town said I was exaggerating the truth. So I packed up and left and I never looked back. That town and those people are dangerous. And I am telling you to stay away from it and them.”
Naia’s eyes went wide.
“Oh my God! Mama were you?” She asked in a panicked voice.
“No I wasn’t sweetie.” Laurie replied.
“But what about your brother?” Naia asks her.
Laurie scoffed and replied, “ohhh you mean the coward, who wouldn’t protect his only sister?”
Naia went quiet.
“Listen to me baby. You are a grown woman. More than capable of doing any and everything you set your brilliant mind to. You can be anything from being an architect like your daddy to a nurse like me, hell I can even see you being the next and first black female president. Hell for all I care you could even be a drug dealer both legally and illegally. As long as you apply yourself and you enjoy it. But this? I can’t allow this. Now I can’t tell you how to live your life or what to do with it. But what I am telling you is this: you are NOT to go anywhere near Hunt’s Peak! Do I make myself clear?” Her mother asks.
“Yes mama. I understand.” Naia replies.
Her father cleared his throat then spoke in a stern tone.
“Naia baby, your mama and I love you more than we could ever tell you. And we are only trying to protect you. Hunt’s Peak isn’t the friendly place you’re thinking that it is. I am begging you to listen to your mother. Hunt’s Peak is no good. So trust us when we say that you are NOT to go there!”
Naia knew she wasn’t going to win this argument.
“Okay. I’ll drop it.” She said to her parents.
Laurie reached out and took Naia’s hands in her own.
“Good. I know you think that we’re not being fair but sweetheart you have to trust us. Especially me. Because if something were to ever happen to you because of those people and town, I would never forgive myself. So you need to drop this once and for all.”
“Yes mama.”
Her mother kissed the side of her forehead.
“Thank you baby. Now if you don’t mind I have an anniversary trip to finish packing for.”
“Are you sure you don’t want me to go with you?” She asked.
Her father scoffed then replied, “we barely want you in the house so no. You’re not going.”
“But daddy it’s Paris! I’ve always wanted to go to Paris!” Naia whined.
“And one day you will go to Paris. Just not today.”
They all laughed.
“I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to worry you.”
Her father stood then wrapped her up in his signature bear hug.
“Baby we know that you’re curious about your mom’s hometown but it’s safer for you to just let it go.”
“I promise I won’t bring it up anymore.”
“Good. Now what are you gonna do while your mother and I are gone?” Shane asks.
“Netflix, Hulu and takeout. Ohh and maybe porn.” Naia replied.
“NO!”
Naia chuckled.
“I just wanted to see what your reactions would be.”
“Laurie…get your child!”
“Ohhh so NOW she’s my child? Any other damn time you’d be willing to fight me to claim her!”
The rest of her Saturday went on as it usually does. But that night was anything but usual. After drifting off to sleep, Naia began to dream. And in her dream she saw him and his golden eyes. She was happy to see him and he was happy to see her. She couldn’t run into his open arms fast enough.
“I missed you.” She said to him.
She could feel his arms tighten around her, lovingly and protectively.
“I’ve missed you too, Beloved.”
“It’s time, Beloved.”
“Time for what?” She asks.
“Time for us to be together. It’s time for you to come home. To come and be at my side.” He replies.
“Where are you?” She asks.
He looked deep in her eyes then replied, “Hunt’s Peak.”
“I can’t. I promised my parents that I wouldn’t.”
“We are destined for each other Beloved.”
“But I…”
He silenced her with a kiss so powerful that it made her body weak.
“Come to me. Be with me. Answer the call.”
She woke up soon thereafter. She sat up in her bed and it became clear to her: she had to answer the call.
She HAD TO go to Hunt’s Peak. She had to find him. She had to be with him. So she made a plan to go to Hunt’s Peak. She knew it was a risk and she knew that she was disobeying her parents. But she knew that she had to take it. She needed to know. She had to know.
The next day she set her plan in motion. She waited until after her parents left for the airport, before she packed up her personal items, loaded them into her SUV and left her parents a note before leaving.
Tumblr media
“Dear Mama and Daddy,
I’m sorry to write this but I’m going to Hunt’s Peak. I have to go, so please don’t be mad at me. Please forgive me. I love you. Again I’m sorry.”
After driving for several hours, she checked into a Days Inn on the outskirts of town to rest before she continued on.

Tumblr media
She was sitting on the bed, blow drying her hair after stepping out of the shower, when there was a knock at her door. When she opened the door, her jaw hit the floor. It was him. She couldn’t believe that he was real and he was looking at her.

since you're excited about Gendry returning and the image of you writing while holding your baby in a wrap is hilarious, can I please have Gendry wearing his baby in a wrap while Arya is out and about and she comes home to find them both asleep on the couch? whenever you have time again is fine :)
Oh my god. This is perfect. Shit, I’ll just make it a continuation of this fic. A fair warning: I put next to no thought in their kid’s name. I just thought up a meaning, looked up some names, and picked one.
Ryder would not sleep. Look, Gendry loved his son – loved him more than he’d ever thought himself capable of loving anything – but the boy would not allow Gendry a moment’s rest. Every time he thought the kid was out for the count, he’d lay him down – and then seconds later, Ryder’s eyes would spring open, he’d kick the blanket off, and let out the loudest wail. It shouldn’t be possible for a baby of a month old to be so loud. It was ungodly.
It didn’t help that it pulled at Gendry’s heart in a way that he’d never thought possible. He’d considered himself hard – had to be considering how he’d grown up alone – and he’d heard children cry before. Growing up in an orphanage did not allow for an easy, soft, quiet childhood. But there was nothing quite like hearing his own son cry. It jerked him away from whatever he was doing. It broke his damn heart.
All Gendry had been trying to do was take a piss for the past hour, but every damn time he laid his son down, Ryder would cry out and Gendry found himself rushing over to him. The last time he’d tripped over his undone pants and nearly sprawled face first on the ground. A little crying wouldn’t hurt Ryder – how many times had he said that when he lived at the orphanage? – and yet somehow it hurt him now that it was his own child.
Weak. Even worse, if he didn’t know any better, he’d think that Ryder knew it.
And so that was how Gendry found himself pulling the baby wrap out that he’d seen Arya wear so many times before. It was so long and looked so complicated, but he was willing to try anything and Ryder seemed to like it. Must have had to do with being snug up against Arya. That was one thing they could both agree on. First, he had to look up a youtube video on his phone about how to put it on while walking around holding his son with his other hand. Second, once he seemed relatively okay with how it worked, he had to put it on. That meant setting Ryder down, which he didn’t like, so Gendry rushed to finish.
After getting it on (at least he thought it was on right – it was so tight), he picked up his son and soothed him again. It was a quick affair. Once Ryder realized he was being held, he would stop crying and look around inquisitively. Getting him in the baby wrap was another thing altogether. Both father and son squirmed trying to get it to work. Ryder scrunched up his face once fully inside and let out a single cry before Gendry could sooth him and start walking around the house, bouncing his stomach instinctively.
Ryder looked up at him almost curiously, half-confused, as Gendry stared down at him, willing him to close his eyes and fall asleep. He felt utterly ridiculous, like he was a kangaroo, but it was all he could do to calm the kid down.
“C’mon, c’mon, go to sleep,” Gendry mumbled, glancing away every time his son tried to connect eyes with him. If he did that, then he’d wake right up, as if able to sense Gendry’s weakness. The kid was an assassin when it came to his parents’ sleep, utterly merciless.
Ryder’s eyes opened and closed, staying closed more often than not after a while, until finally they stayed closed. His mouth was wide open as he breathed, making cooing noises and grunts as he did in his sleep. Gendry paused in his pacing and let his head fall back so that he could sigh in relief.
Finally, he could pee.
So, wearing his sleeping son in Arya’s baby wrap while taking a piss – that was one thing Gendry could check off the list of things he never thought he’d do but found himself doing anyways. Parenthood was a lot weirder than people gave it credit for. He couldn’t help but wonder if he’d forced his mom into this position. He wished she was still alive just so he could apologize to her.
To be honest, he tried not to think about his mom very often in connection with his son. It made him feel…despondent. Lonelier than ever before. Arya’s parents were wonderful grandparents – very doting and helpful in every way and nice, especially considering the not-so perfect circumstances around the pregnancy – but sometimes he missed having someone on his side, parent-wise. Mya was great as an older half-sister and aunt, but she wasn’t his mom.
Just anyone that he could ring up and ask for advice from someone that knew from experience would’ve been nice.
After taking care of a few more things around the house (in all honesty, Arya was terrible about cleaning), Gendry eased himself down on the couch. He could’ve taken Ryder out of the wrap, but he was still sleeping soundly and Gendry hated the idea of disturbing him. There was even a little smile on his face, like he’d won at something. Yeah, won at bossing his dad around and getting what he wanted. Arya never folded so easily.
But Ryder was his son and Gendry really, really loved him.
After finding something on the tv, Gendry settled down and prepared for an hour of just holding his son. Sometimes, that was all it would take to get him to sleep, and sometimes it was the only thing. It was Gendry’s day off from the shop though so he really didn’t mind cuddling with his boy. Arya never questioned on whether or not he was capable of watching after a baby while she attended the classes of her last semester, even though he was a guy, and he didn’t care when the guys at the shop teased him over it.
What was the point? He couldn’t figure out why they would tease him. Gendry wanted to be a good and involved father. So what? Idiots, the lot of them.
Ryder was a good boy and a good baby. Gendry just wished that he’d sleep more often without them having to hold him. It meant that they didn’t get much sleep themselves. They had help, of course, but both of them were admittedly stubborn and tried to do so much themselves.
Luckily Arya only had two more classes so she didn’t have to go to school full-time, but Gendry was working over fifty hours a week to make up for her not working. She’d offered, but he had told her no. He knew she didn’t want to admit it, but she was happy to take the time with their son. Eventually, she would want to go to work, but he wanted her to be able to focus on school. She was graduating after this semester. He didn’t want her to be stretched too thin.
Except this had been a sixty hour work week for him and he was more than exhausted. Ryder had been extra clingy this past week for no reason that they could figure out. All Gendry wanted to do was take a thirty minute nap, but he was afraid to do that while holding a baby. Wasn’t that dangerous? He didn’t want people to label him a bad or lazy parent. That scared him more than he liked to admit.
However, his eyes kept opening and closing just as his son’s had done an hour ago. Gendry snapped them back open, focusing on the television, only for them to drift close again. He was fine. He wasn’t that tired. He could stay awake. He was fine–
“Gendry, Gendry,” a voice called to him, accompanied by a shoulder shake.
Blearily opening his eyes. Gendry found himself face-to-face with a grinning Arya. With one arm still protectively wrapped about their son, he pushed himself up on the couch. “You’re home early. Was class canceled?”
“Uh, no, I just got out,” Arya told him, pointing at the clock.
Gendry would’ve jumped off the couch had he not been holding Ryder. “Shit! I fell asleep!” He looked to Ryder up to Arya, a harried expression on his face. “I’m sorry; I didn’t mean to–”
“You’re okay,” Arya interrupted with a laugh as she stood up straight. “He seems happy. Look at that face.”
Indeed, there was that little, content smile on Ryder’s face. He had his arms up and one hand grabbing at the collar of his shirt. Gendry sank down in the couch, relief sweeping over him. He’d been told so many horror stories about parents falling asleep with their children that it had kept him up at night. But everything was okay. He even felt better now that he’d napped. Ryder would wake up to eat soon and everything would be fine.
“You two have a good day?” Arya asked.
“Uh, yeah,” Gendry replied, thinking about that hour Ryder wouldn’t even let him use the restroom.
Arya shot him another grin. “You certainly looked cozy. The snapchat I sent everyone was positively adorable.”
Gendry flopped back on the couch. “Arya–”
“What?” Arya chimed innocently. “Sansa loved it. ‘Most guys wouldn’t nearly be as comfortable taking care of a baby alone,’ according to her. You’re a role model, an inspiration.”
All Gendry could do was blush, but while he was a little embarrassed – Arya loved to take goofy pictures of him on snapchat and it had only gotten worse since Ryder was born – he wasn’t unhappy. It was…nice. Very different and completely unexpected, but nice. He and Arya had never planned on having a family (at least not so soon) and while it had taken a lot of adjusting and hadn’t always been pretty or easy, they were finding their way and making their own path. He suspected it would always be like this – one big guessing game – but they were in it together.
Now, if only they could sleep together at the same time, that would be great.
