One more thing. Another argument I see in favour of this alter-ego Princess Zelda who's mean and entitled and Totally Canon You Guys, is saying that she has a a position of power over Link, therefore abuses it / him. Which is.... an extremely odd and honestly false takeaway from BOTW's story, imo. Yes, she is royalty, in a literal sense she does have a higher societal status than Link. But to say that she has any true power over Link is just?? Wrong??
Link was assigned by the king first and foremost. He's following the king's orders. He is NOT there to cater to Zelda's every beck and call. He's there to protect her and accompany her to the springs. And Zelda does NOT like this (at first) but she knows as well as him they both have no choice in the matter.
Still, she does give him orders. When she tells him to return to the castle and to stop following her in an early memory. But Link doesn't listen, because he's under command from her father, not her. And later on in the final memory, Zelda doesn't command, but rather begs for Link to run away and save himself rather than her. Again, he refuses. Which you can argue at this point in time is just as much about wanting to save her as it is having a dutiful obligation. But I think these two points speak for themselves. At worst, the most Zelda asks of him is to accompany her to certain places (very evil and abusive).
A core part of Zelda's arc is realising how similar she and Link are, despite wildly different upbringings. It's about realising that at the heart of it, they are two stressed out young adults with all eyes on them to save Hyrule from the impending calamity. She very quickly learns to confront her preconceived notion that Link is everything she's failed to be, and she very quickly apologises for the behaviour that notion caused in her. She makes an effort to get to know him, so much so that the man who forced himself into selective mutism talks to her on multiple occasions off screen, obviously by his own choice.
So when Zelda is portrayed as this entitled prissy princess who's pushing around her little slave boy Link, I get the distinct feeling those peddling this idea hated Zelda from the very beginning. Which y'know.. fine I guess. But it's weird you then decide to come up with these so obviously false and over the top "observations" about her character to justify said hatred. That, or these people have gone too far down the fanon rabbit hole and refuse to come up for air.
This isn't even touching on TOTK and how Link obviously stayed by her side by choice. But this post is already long enough.

2, 3, 4, and 10 for the asks?
2- Character you dislike:
I don't dislike any specific characters that I can think of (barring for moral reasons, but those are being thrown so far out the window right now). But I might actually say Otto for this. Again, I don't dislike him- in fact, I used to love him- but one day I just... stopped caring, specifically for his narration.
It makes no sense because I love the "dickhead nerd" archetype to the present day. If you were to write down his character and its arc, I'd still be all for it. I love him in fanfics. Even though Otto isn't canonically nd, he was one of the first- if not the first- characters my autistic ass could actually relate to. But it is what it is, I guess.
Also, Esteban.
3- Favourite ship:
Probably Wing/Shelby. They are peak black cat vs. golden retriever. They bounce off of each other incredibly well.
I haven't indulged in it enough to consider it my favourite, but Nero/Anastasia is also up there for me. And Lucy/Laura because who cares about a love triangle when you could just have lesbians?
4- Ship you dislike:
Ignoring Naven, because that would be a cop-out answer, probably Laura/Otto.
It's alright from Otto's side because he's our main protagonist. The story is, quite literally, built around him. You could list off more than a substantial amount about his character before resorting to a "he likes Laura."
Although Laura narrates, she doesn't impact the plot too much until Aftershock. Events happen to her because of Otto, or Wing, or because the Furans and Nero had a messy divorce. She also narrates far less than Otto. Thus, you note that she likes Otto much earlier on when thinking about her. I personally don't like that, and the stark difference between how quickly their relationship comes to mind when thinking about one character in isolation makes it worse.
When it comes to Wing/Shelby, neither really narrate and both are at the core of the plot mostly due to their associates. Wing gets the added benefit of being the main protagonist's "sidekick" while Shelby is, quite frankly, iconic enough that her relationship with Wing is pushed down the ladder of relevance when you think about her.
10- Character you hate the canon version of, but love the fanon versions:
I mean, technically, Otto would fall here because of my reasoning for number 2. But I believe I have a better answer, even though I, again, don't hate the canon portrayal.
Diabolus. In fanfictions, he's portrayed far more chaotically, and his failures as a father have been fleshed out within fanfiction. In the books, he's quite tame. He's willing to ditch friends for safety. And his downfalls for Nigel are completely overlooked. I've said it before, and I'll say it again, the "you didn't have to live with him" line from Nigel in book 1 should not be ignored. Yes, we see later on that they do love each other, but clearly, some damage had been done, and there has been no effort to even acknowledge that in canon. All in all, the book Diabolus feels disappointing when you're used to fanfic Diabolus.

Hi, it's me again~! 🤗
Can I tell you a secret?
Sooo, um.. Tabi x Ayana has been one of my FNF OTPs for a while now.
And yes, I know that will never come true in canon (both their respective creators have confirmed at this point)... but hey I can still dream! 😤 People can still enjoy the fanon stuff if they want to, right? (I just think they're cute, okay?!)
Well anyways, I have wondered what headcanons you would have for these two in this case. I like to think that Ayana would be the playful one who always starts the tickle fights, or just starts randomly poking him just to be a tease and to get those adorable and rare reactions from her usually stoic and serious boyfriend, but soon regrets it when Tabi decides to become absolutely ruthless in his payback. (It'd still be worth it though!)
Let's go with: L, Q, R, M & N (these two are optional though), W, K, T, U, D and A. (U & W are also optional)
(And maybe you can use this if you need inspiration. 😋)
Hope you have fun! ✌🏾😁
Ohoho~ I will definitely have fun with these (also hi again :D)!
Tabi x Ayana isn't my favorite ship but I definitely agree that it's a adorable relationship, nothing wrong with liking their ship :)
Thank you for the inspiration, and thank you for sending this, hope this is satisfactory for you!
Headcanons ✨
L - What does their laughter sound like when they are tickled?
Both of their laughs clash with each others, Ayana's being pretty high pitched and adorable with Tabi's being raspy and booming. He doesn't laugh all that much and it usually comes off as a dark chuckle, really unsettling those around him because of his unpredictable nature. Ayana is a different story, she squeals and squeaks, laughing adorably while Tabi is like "o///o". If you get her in a good spot, it can quickly escalate into loud cackles (people often describe it sounding like a witch's).
Q - Their response to the question ‘are you ticklish’?
Tabi: "Bah! Don't waste my time with such ridiculous questions!"
He's very dismissive and won't even answer, brushing it off and scoffing. If you attempt to do so, you risk getting a knife to the face.
Ayana: "I dunno, you tell me!"
She cannot say it with a straight face. Everyone can see her cheeks beginning to warm and her smile widen. She is ticklish and if you try to tickle her, she won't stop you.
R - Lee or ler, what is generally their main role?
Ayana is a mixture of both while Tabi leans toward a ler. She actually enjoys being tickled quite a bit and will even ask for it on occasion (shyly of course). Her boyfriend won't mind and does what she asks, very gentle and loving, all while she's a giggling puddle in his lap. As a ler though, she's rather playful but if anyone tells her to stop, she'll be all pouty but will leave you alone. Tabi isn't the type of guy you ask to tickle or ask to tickle you considering his personality and all the things he's been through. If you aren't very familiar with him, he'll scoff and make you feel especially stupid but if you're someone he trusts and cares for, he'll do it (although hesitates). You expect him to be absolutely merciless (he can be) when in fact, he's quite gentle and makes sure his lee is alright through the process.
M - Their tickle behavior during mornings?
Tabi is very soft and sleepy so he'll only observe her quietly as Ayana giggles away beneath his fingertips. He's very tender and caring about it and will shower her with kisses, complimenting her with his velvety Russian accent, much to her delight. Ayana is much more "awake" and usually the one having to drag her boyfriend out of bed. Usually t-wording is involved and she's quite persistent but doesn't push him too far as she is very aware of his fatigue but does it just enough for him to get up for the day.
N - Their tickle behavior during nights?
A playful tickle fight (yeah I said the word what are you gonna do about it) after a long day, so relaxing right? The two just roll around, trying to get the upper hand while they meanwhile latch onto their weak spots, squeezing and poking away and indulging in each other's laughter. Tabi is shockingly more teasing and playful, more susceptible to pinning Ayana down with her arms above her head, his golden eyes flashing with mischief and curiosity. It's like that until he really hones in, kneading her stomach and thighs, watching her squeal and giggle, making all the stresses of his life melt away. Ayana however is more of a tired t-worder not really trying and only really wanting a good time. Sure she kisses his neck and smiles every time he chokes on his own spit but Ayana only wants to wish her love a good night and wants to see Tabi in peace the next day, only to do it all over again...
W - What is their reaction to the T-word? Can they say it out loud or do they get embarrassed?
They have no problem saying it! It's only really apart of their vocabulary because they're describing something else, like a tickle in their throat for example. But Tabi can't help but find it funny when he wiggles his fingers at her real slow, not even needing words to describe what he's doing (keep in mind, he doesn't even tickle her, he just likes to see her flustered). Ayana get's real mad and chases him around their house and tackles him as revenge. For compensation, she demands a dozen kisses, Tabi does so without fail~
K - As a ler, do they have special skills to use against their lees and drive them crazy with?
Tabi's buttery voice makes Ayana go weak to her knees, especially when he's just...cooing at her while she laughs. He knows just how much his voice affects her so he takes full advantage and even goes as far to sound sultry. Ayana has the ability to make him antsy and anticipate for the worst, usually getting into a stance, completely still and unmoving while Tabi is one inch away from the door, prepared to get the fuck out of there.
T - Their most favorite methods of teasing their lee/ler?
"Oh you poor baby, you want me to stop don't you~? Well too bad, you shouldn't have tried to tickle me!"
His teases may sound like taunts at first but when you really listen to them is when the effects start to kick in and suddenly the torture you've endured has worsened by 10 folds. As a lee, he doesn't even tease them, he just begs for you to stop, his white skull full of color as Ayana digs into his ribs.
"Babe, there's no way you're this ticklish!" Proceeds to ensnare his face with kisses, flustering him and latching onto his sides.
Ayana is very affectionate :)
U - Do they have some unusual tickle spots? Where?
Yes they do! The bottom of Ayana's head where it meets her neck is strangely sensitive (they were in the middle of a cuddle session when Tabi figured this out, he never told her he's seen her reaction and is waiting for the perfect time to use it again). Anyone else who has figured this out was met by her arching her neck and back she was trying to impersonate the letter S. Tabi has ticklish hands, especially around the palm area. He at one point giggled like crazy while Ayana traced the center of his hand.
D - What is their most ticklish spot?
HUHUHUEHU THE FUN PART. Tabi's invisible neck (big surprise huh) and torso are the most t-wordish spots. Ayana death spots are on her collarbones, ribs, and feet.
A - What is their aftercare like after a heavy round of tickling?:)
Tabi is usually not that affectionate, usually doing it in order to teach someone a lesson and as warning for them to fuck off. But with Ayana, he cuddles her and chuckles softly as she giggles out the remainder of her laughter, very careful in making sure he doesn't touch her sensitive areas. Ayana, as stated before, is very loving and will do things for Tabi like giving massages (she gives the best) or making him his favorite food. Sometimes she just kisses him over and over again, feeling comforted in his presence as his golden eyes flash with love and his skull flushes with pink.
Closing argument: They have a very affectionate relationship and need to be recognized more within the friday night funkin' community (fuck I've become fixated)

Hello~ In the Eri Critical post you mentioned you almost made Toru a makeshift OC and could I ask you to elaborate on that? She's a side character and imo Horikoshi hasn't given much to work with, so isn't any depth or expansion added by other writers gonna make her different to the canon? What metric do you use to judge if you strayed too far? I ask cause I'm writing a fic where Toru is more prominent and thus I will have to expand on her character.
This was a hard question for me to answer because you’re right. We have nearly nothing to work with when it comes to Toru, which sucks when you want to write a story with her. Therefore nearly anything we do is in a way “fanon.” I have run into this problem myself as I’ve tried to write her in a main role as well. So, this where I have to apologize to people who try to write for Eri. It’s near impossible to write for a character where we’re given only crumbs to work with without shifting them into Ocs. So how do we combat it? I dunno. But here’s how I try; The first question I ask myself is this, “is the character performing this action or feeling the way they are because that’s how they would in this situation? Or it because it’s how I want them to respond or feel?” If the answer is ever the latter, then I go back and think some more. For example, Toru likes Caramel. It’s her favorite food. If she turns it down, there has to be a reason; sore tooth, too depressed to eat, etc. She can’t turn down the candy just because I, the author, say so.
Don’t fall into the trap and make a character react the way you would. Make sure to ask yourself if this is how the character would do it.
Next what I try to do is take what little we do see in canon and expand on that. As for the metric for when I've gone too far—it’s complicated-ish? Below is what I know about Toru off the top of my head. If I’ve strayed too far from any of these points without a reason, then I either need to go back or make a reason that would make sense for her to act differently from “canon.” For example, Toru isn’t very strong in canon as she’s the third-worst in class. If I want to make her strong I would have to provide a reason why such as training montage or science magic. Keep in mind all my knowledge comes from the manga as I haven’t watched the anime. Hopefully, it’ll help when writing Toru.
*The biggest thing to keep in mind is that Toru loves her quirk and is very proud of it. In fact, she places a great deal of confidence in it, even when we see over and over that it’s not perfect. She’s vulnerable to cold, she can be revealed easily, etc. Yet she never tries to overcome these flaws, instead, she seems to ignore them. Thinking about it, she seems to have put all her eggs in one basket by focusing sorely on stealth in the story. (It’s said she can fight, but we don’t see anything impressive.) When she discovers her light manipulation, she works on that, but that’s because it's a part of her quirk. This can be a big weakness for her arc, refusing to admit that her quirk isn’t flawless and she needs to focus on other things like agility and strength building. **This would explain why she doesn’t get a real costume (outside of the meta reasons). In her head, she’s thinking she doesn’t need to waste time with armor, she just needs to get better at hiding/sneaking. (And being naked isn’t a big deal to her.) *Something that differs from fanon is that in canon she’s actually fairly confident. She’s usually portrayed as insecure about herself in fanfics because she “doesn’t have a face.” However, in the story, Toru seems to have the most confidence of all the girls. I have never seen an instance where she’s down about herself. This is most likely because her quirk allows her not to be judged by appearances. Actually, now that I seem to think about it, she might be putting her whole identity in her quirk, which is seen as pretty cool. *She seems to like to poke fun and tease others. She’s aware that she’s naked, but she doesn’t see it as a big deal. She sees it as funny—or at least people’s reactions to her being naked. When she strips she usually brings it to attention, then pretends to be shy or upset. **The fact her favorite thing is hidden prank shows adds to this. **She uses the lack of appearance to troll others too by saying she looks like a Geisha and an old saint. ***May have some knowledge in history. *She’s optimistic and always looks on the bright side when she can. *Usually easy going. Doesn’t seem to like dwelling on things. If she’s mad, she’ll huff and puff, but will then move on with her life. Though she may occasionally attack an offender. *She’s very friendly and bubbly. *She’s a bit of a ditz. An example is how she forgot to put a rage away in the light novels and knocked Aizawa out. *VERY SMALL, but I noticed she’s one of the few to get annoyed with Bakagou (for two seconds, but still). She was the only one to call him out when he told Izuku he should have fought Shigaraki and grumbled at him when Bakagou was happy no one else was going to be able to do the internships. YMMV, though. *She’s not a great student. This could be out of laziness or depending way too much on her quirk to get her through school. I think it’s the latter. As I said, she has WAY too much faith in her quirk. *She likes cute stuff, but in the manga, she dresses very casually. **Seems to be fond of no sleeve shirts and knee-high socks. *She worked with the Gadget Hero as an intern, so she may have a SMALL knowledge of robotics. **This feeds into the theory of how she got into UA, which states she found the off button. *She likes caramel candy the best. *She is confirmed to have two parents. Also, a trick I do is that when Canon doesn’t give me enough meat on a character, I look at their astrology! (And blood types for anime as Japanese have fun with the idea that personality can be affected by our blood types.) A lot of authors like to try and make things match for fun.
That’s all I got. I suppose the only thing I can say is that as long as you don’t stray too far from what we see in canon without a reason, write her however you want. Most readers will be forgiving with characters like this.
If anyone else can help, I’m sure we’d all appreciate it!
I really hoped this helped anon. Like I said, I wasn’t sure how to answer this, so there’s a chance I babbled and did everything but answer your question. Thanks for the message!

hello! i know it's a bad idea to engage in any shipping discourse but for the sake of constructive criticism, i asked an sns shipper if she thinks there's atleast potential in ss if ever sakura had that capacity to stand up to sasuke and if she wasn't as much fixated on him during shipuuden and the war arc. i even brought up the wasted opportunity of sasuke vs sakura that was shown in the game. the sns shipper gave a very structured and well-versed answer and i do agree with some of her points. i'm not even anti-sns and i understand the support this ship gets. but this person really hates sakura. so her answer to my question if ss has potential is straight up NO. hate is an understatement. she explicitly said she DETESTS sakura and ss xD. granted, her hatred is valid since sakura's writing is very flawed and inconsistent. what i didn't like was when she said why am i trying to change sakura's personality (her standing up to sasuke whether physically or verbally) when "she's constantly on heat when he's around". gosh, i really wanted to retaliate here and say it's called freakin character development. i mean, that's what she's mainly hated for right? the fact that she's obsessed and a pushover when it comes to sasuke. having that change especially during the war arc doesn't mean she's out of character, it means development. but gah, sakura haters are really hard to argue with so i just stayed silent.
to briefly summarize, her main point of argumentation is that sakura was toxic to both naruto and sasuke. sasuke's relationship with naruto is more defined than whatever he had with sakura. she brought up ss's pt.1 moments and said that sasuke would do the same to naruto, if not even better. as for naruto's case, sakura was a mean bitch and was so unfair to him throughout the series. simply put, even if sns has questionable elements, they are more organic and healthy than sasusaku.
this got me thinking. between sasunarusasu and sasusaku, despite both having toxic elements, i think the reason why there are relatively more sns shippers is because there's balance. compared to sakura, sasuke has shown more consideration towards naruto and we all know naruto cares for sasuke just as much and he isn't afraid to stand up to this guy.
idk what i'm even trying to ask here. i guess i'm just ranting lol. i've always seen your comments in youtube vids defending sakura and ss and i know you have an extensive knowledge of the naruto manga in general. you could only imagine how shocked i am when i found out you're a male. it's really rare to find someone like you. :)
anyways, i just feel so disappointed and pressed lmao. ss shippers couldn't catch a break from haters. like yea, some of us know it has shit writing in the canon and explanations regarding their relationship in the series is very limited. i already accepted the fact that they are underdeveloped and was borderline toxic. but then, between kishimoto's pitiful inability to write female characters properly and SP's biased treatment towards sasusaku plus the manga's main narrative focusing on naruto and sasuke, i just feel like it's kinda unfair for antis to shit on ss shippers when in reality, most of us just hold onto it because of nostalgia. most sasusaku shippers came to be when they were very young. i even found comments saying they started shipping them when they were 6 or 7. in my case, i was 12 lol.
it's kinda unfair since sns has the upperhand bcoz the series is mainly about them. naruhina has retcons and SP and what does ss have? small pt.1 moments, headcanons, fanons and to top it off SP's biased ass shitting on it. the ss fandom isn't perfect and has its fair share of immature stans as well, but i'm still glad that didn't stop authors and artists from making content. ss has got some of the best fanfictions, fanarts and doujinshis. i just wished antis won't attack them as much.
anyways, i'm not even asking a specific question. i just ranted. i just needed to get this out of my system. sorry for that 😅
Hey! It's been a long while since I got asks like this lol! Once tumblr went all anti-nsfw a few years ago, we all kinda migrated to Twitter for our SS/Anime cravings tbh but I'm glad and flattered you decided to ask me on my thoughts! :)
I won't write long as again, tbh, I'm kinda retired from debating/arguing with antis on things of SS/Naruto/Etc (unless I'm simply too triggered to let it go lol. You've already probably seen my long Sakura video so I won't go too much into details of what I already covered with Sakura's character. But to answer you, I'll keep it to the point.
It's ok of course to say Kishi's writing is flawed, I mean he is human and we know Naruto has holes. Every manga/story does of course. When it comes to SS, I personally bring it to this: Sasuke and Naruto's relationship is NOT Sasuke and Sakura's relationship. And that's (imo) ok. Sasuke and Naruto obviously have a bond only they have. Both lonely and orphaned, rivals with each other, haters to brother, you know it all. But Sakura is different. She's simply a normal, head-strong and caring girl. Kishi wanted to write a normal girl, and he did a darn well good job, because just like normal girls (or people in general), they're imperfect. That's why she first appealed to me.
Anyway, to the point, SS is pretty easy to follow. Sakura likes Sasuke....what's the problem? Where's the toxicity, lol. Sure she fangirls over him as a 12 year old girl, but again, Sakura is normal. Most girls I knew that age did the same thing. Most BOYS I knew were super...*cough* ready to be with girls (*cough cough*, puberty, everyone, *cough*). Sasuke is cool and confident. Sakura lacked confidence, so naturally she was drawn to Sasuke. Sasuke at first found her annoying (as he did with Naruto too) but as the became a team, she bonded. SS' bond is NOT NSN's bond. SS's bond is built upon a simply caring basis. Sakura always cared for Sasuke, and Sasuke always was protective of Sakura. Forest of Death, Sand Invasion, etc...add in the angst of Shippuden (nobody can tell me one was better than the other during Shippuden, Sasuke was 'bout to axe everyone while in darkness lol), blank period bonding, and then Boruto. There it is in SIMPLE terms.
As far as "standing up" to Sasuke...not sure where this person is coming from....again, NSN is NOT SS....Sakura has stood up to Sasuke at times. In the FOD where she indirectly called him a coward, when she pleaded with him to not fight in the Prelims and threatened to tell the proctors of the curse mark, trying to stop him from leaving Konoha., etc. If she was a "doormat", she would have said "Ok Sauske, you do whatever you want, it's all ok my love!" That was chapter 3 Sakura. A LOT of haters can't move beyond that chapter tbh...moving on. The main thing is, she wasn't STRONG enough to stop him by FORCE. She wasn't written to. Sure I woulda liked some angsty moments of them fighting, TRUST ME, you already know. But Kishi wanted the fighting to mostly be between Naruto and Sasuke, as most battle Shonen go. It's Goku and Vegeta, Deku and Bakugou, you name it. She was written to LOVE him unconditionally. And despite Kishi's misses here and here, it's clear as day to many people that they do indeed, love each other. Sarada is a product of years of redemption, forgiveness, and understanding between SS (which is....literally some of the themes of Naruto....Zabuza...Haku...Gaara...Pein...Obito....list goes on...).
And of course Naruto and Sasuke's relationship got more spotlight. They're essentially the Shonen "duo" like I explained before with Goku and Vegeta. It's a common tope which can be a bit annoying imo since other characters get shafted, but they're gonna be seen more by the public. At the end of the day, Kishi modeled NSN after his relationship with his BROTHER....that was one of Naruto's main story plots. AGAIN, OF COURSE it's gonna be pushed and seem like it's more "balanced"...it's a battle Shonen, not a love story lol. The love stuff is sprinkled in. This isn't a Shojo. If it was, SS would be the main focus (or...I guess NSN if Kishi WANTED to go that route).
So to finish off, you're right with the SP thing. But it can't be helped. If people wanna say NSN has more "development", let them. At the end of the day, they're shown more to the viewers because they're the Goku and Vegeta of Naruto. They push the narrative, not a romance. They're Kishi's go-to boys. They're the essential main character and rival. It's nothing new. But you know what else? They're. NOT. A. COUPLE. SasuSaku is, and again, romance is SPRINKLED in. It's N O T a Shojo and not the main focus. Honestly...the arguments that NSN shipper used are a bit weak knowing full well that SNS represent Kishi's brother and himself.
I mean...tldr, I could just say "Kishi and his bro are Naruto and Sasuke. SO nah bro, NSN has no romantic development. I wasn't meant to lol."
Typed longer than I thought, but I hope this helped! At the end of the day, ship SS in peace. We have an amazing fandom for the most part with wonderful content and we ain't stopping anytime soon :)
