you know tbh thought the girl[blank] meme had some funny uses but as someone who dodged the gender bullet it's weird as hell how hard popular culture trendifies the gendering of maturity

like it's always happened but seeing how it leaks into people's irl speech via zeitgeist garbage is augh

why is a guy in his 20s a "man" but a chick in her 20s constantly gets called "girl".

tho tbh wouldn't care as much if it was purely cishet bs, but trans women keep getting called trans girls no matter their age, same with trans men.

(edit: tho tbh sometimes its the reverse where ppl call transgirls women and transmen boys. Truly depends on the flavor of transphobia that person holds. The point is how their language affects their perception of non-cis ppl, particularly their maturity)

i know this is NOT a new observation but my brain is bleeding from the concussive shocks of seeing women critiqued solely bc they're "not a girls' girl". yeah! she isn't!!! she is 28 with a full-time job and more nuanced morality than highschool infighting!!!!

#i unfortunately love drama #but its so hard to dig into whatevers going on with that Ends W/ Us movie #bc the vitriol against the potential wrong parties is so much more heinous when directed at the women in the drama #like okay she and her husband are scabs and maybe wrote out the dv issues #why are you making this about her haircare line and some mean thing she maybe said to an interviewer #what about the other dude being accussed of being awful on set. to her specifically #like tbf theres no real proof for ANY OF IT but that kinda makes it worse #why are ppl hating on the potential mean girl more than the potential creep when both have equal concrete evidence #oh wait. i know why #AUGH #ps this is why i use dude and chick (or just dude)#no implications about maturity. we are all skaters.
