Ranking the Miracuclass based on how likely they are to burn down a building.
Marinette: Very much would never burn down a building intentionally. Still has burnt down a building. 5/10
Alya: Would joke about burning down a building, but wouldn't actually do it. 3/10
Adrien: Yes. 10/10
Nino: He would never. That would harsh his mellow. 0/10
Chloe: She absolutely would, but is repeatedly prevented from doing so. 6/10
Sabrina: Only when pushed to the absolute brink. 2/10
Mylene: Usually wouldn't but could be coerced if it was for environmental reasons. 7/10
Ivan: If Mylene wants it done, Ivan gets it done. 8/10
Rose: She would want to, but could never go through with it. 5/10
Juleka: She wouldn't really want to, but she knows how. And probably has. 6/10
Kim: He would set *himself* on fire. -10/10. Please stay safe, Kim.
Max: Max has way more efficient and controllable methods for destroying buildings. 1/10
Alix: Actually very careful. She knows her limits and does not set fires. Instead she travels through time to places that are already burning. Alix/10
Nathaniel: He would not admit it, but he has already done so and could very well do it again if you make him angry enough. 9/10
Lila: Ironically most of the fires she starts are metaphorical. But sometimes it's necessary for her schemes. 8/10
BONUS
Luka: He is an expert at starting fires. But he's also an expert at putting them out. 2/10
Kagami: Secretly really likes fire, and as such is kept away from it. 6/10
Marc: Fears fire with every fiber of his being. No arson here, folks. 0/10
Ondine: She's the queen of overkill, but she and Kim balance out. 10/10 becomes 0/10.
Felix: Tries very hard to set things on fire but gets blocked by his own plans and Adrien being Adrien. 5/10
Zoe: Capable and willing, but is too busy blockading Chloe. 4/10

One of the things I hate about Thomas Astruc is his thing of warping people's personalities to benefit his agenda.
Chloe is a good example of that:
In previous seasons, Chloé was always a passive bully (as weird as that sounds). She almost never does anything with her own hands. She usually made Sabrina do things for her (such as stealing Marinette's diary and taking pics of her designs). Or she calls Daddy to make things go away ("Daddy, do this! My daddy will do this to you if you don't do what I want!" *cue crocodile tears*).
When she does do things herself, she isn't direct. She always does things in roundabout or petty ways, like locking Juleka in the restroom, or bribing her class with concert tickets to become representative. The only direct thing I can think of is her trash-talking, like when she made Mylene cry by making fun of her cowardice.
And yet, we're just supposed to believe that she's suddenly capable of keeping Sabrina prisoner in a closet, is abusive to her dad (when what she does is either steamrolling or guilting), and puts roaches in Marinette's locker (damn girl can't even make a hat. What makes you think she'll make the effort to put roaches in a locker?)
I hate it. At least keep things consistent! It's possible to make Chloé a monster without sacrificing her personality!
The thing is that this could have worked as part of her "damnation arc" if it was natural development.
If you wanted to actually show Chloe getting worse instead of claiming she was always evil, make it so Chloe has to rely more on doing things by herself, becoming more aggressive and cruel in the process. That way, by the end of Season 5, it makes sense why Ladybug and Cat Noir see her as a huge threat.

Marinette could hardly believe that she was on her way to becoming an adult. The years were somehow long and exhausting yet short at the same time. All the effort she'd put towards building a future career for herself were going to take off the moment she got out of school, and she was ecstatic about it.
The only con was that everyone would inevitably be taken in separate directions, no longer bound by the guaranteed meetings in the classrooms. She supposed that was the inevitable test of friendship going forward - seeing who would stay in contact and who wouldn't - but it was a nice excuse to spend time together before things “ended.”
That was what led up to her and the girls having a sleepover at the Liberty, as if they were all children again. Half the silliness of that was knowing that most of them hadn't even known each other as children, but in a way that made it all the more important to do.
The other half was that the guys had also coincidentally planned a sleepover (guys' hangout, not a sleepover because that's girly, no really, stop laughing—) on the same day, leaving them to divide the Liberty up between them. That left the guys with the deck and the girls below deck, though the guys were generously permitted to head down to the lounge room if they needed anything.
Throughout the experience, Marinette had a blast. Alongside the girls, she chatted it up with a sprinkle of gossip, played games, set up a comfy place for everyone to sleep, and cracked a few jokes whenever one of the boys came down for something or made an excuse to say hello to their significant other.
The plan initially was to stay up all night since they didn't have any school the following day, but alas, the old age of being in their late teens had made everyone too tired before midnight hit. Boys and girls alike turned in for bed in their respective places, the boys in the main area above deck and the girls in the Couffaine siblings' room below deck.
—————
Marinette awoke at some point during the night, feeling sweaty and uncomfortable. She hadn't slept over at the Liberty before and had expected it to be colder than it ended up being, because wasn't it so Marinette of her to over prepare and still have things go wrong.
Pushing off the overly-fluffy and thick blanket, she got herself up quietly so as to not wake anyone. Since no one was going to see her anyway, she grabbed the bottom of her tank top and pulled the shirt over her head, leaving her in just her bra and capris in hopes that she might cool off faster.
Tiptoeing, she crept around the girls all sprawled out and sleeping, nearly tripping on Mylene's arm but managing to keep her balance. On her way to the lounge room, she caught sight of an abandoned blanket and looked up, seeing that Rose had gotten up at some point to join Juleka on her bed.
Frowning, admittedly a bit jealous, Marinette glanced at the empty bed on the other side of the room: Luka's. If he'd been a girl and they were dating, would she have been able to sneak into his too?
Of course, they were not dating, not for lack of wanting to but because she hadn't made any moves on him. She'd run through most excuses by then: thinking that he was too mature for her and growing herself into the person she wanted to be, then thinking that there must've be someone else he liked and finding no evidence for that after a few years, then thinking that she was too busy carving out a path for herself and now being at that point where she'd done so. There wasn't any reason not to try anymore, but she still felt anxious about it.
Did Luka even see her as someone attractive, or was she his sister's friend? Would it be weird to ask? Was it better or worse knowing that he would have every excuse not to talk to her again with everyone doing their own thing?
She shook her head, trying to banish the thoughts. He was literally sleeping right above her, so it felt weird to be thinking about it, like talking about someone who just barely couldn't hear off in another room.
Heading into the kitchen, Marinette got herself a cup and opened the fridge, peering inside for anything good. She sighed at the cold air wafting out, half-tempted to just shove herself partway inside until she'd cooled off, but resisted and left it at pulling out a pitcher of iced tea. She'd probably regret having a drink in the middle of the night, but that was future Marinette's problem and she preferred it to the alternative of staying hot and gross.
She was only half-awake, but she could do a basic task like pouring herself a drink. With her hands both occupied, she carefully closed the fridge with her foot and put the cup on the counter. Holding it with one hand to keep it in place, she tipped the pitcher and aimed for the sides of the inner part of the cup, figuring that would make less noise than liquid into liquid.
She was so focused on the simple act that she hadn't heard the footsteps coming from up above, nor the ones going down the stairs nearby, nor the slight creak of the door at the bottom of the stairs as it opened.
The quiet, “Oh, Marinette,” however, spoken in the low, melodic tone she'd imagined next to her in a bed just a minute ago, she did hear. Her head spun to look, body stiff as her eyes took in Luka standing there and staring at her.
Also, he was shirtless.
Her mouth opened wide, nearly screaming his name in her surprise before she clenched her teeth to stop herself, then she had to stop herself from overpouring the iced tea into her cup, then she had to stop herself from slamming the pitcher onto the bar. It left her a mess, vibrating in place with the feeling that any movement would be the wrong kind.
“...Hi,” she greeted in a strained voice, shutting her eyes tight. Without the distracting image in her sights, she willed herself to set the pitcher down calmly and get out the jitters with a shake of both arms.
“I'm sorry,” he said. Judging from how his voice projected, he'd looked away. “I'll go back up.”
Her eyelids popped open again, realizing how her reaction must've looked. Rushing over to him, she reached a hand out and said in a hushed whisper, “Wait! No, I'm sorry, you don't have to go.”
She wanted to grab his sleeve to stop him, but there wasn't a sleeve to grab. She considered grabbing his hand instead, which they'd done dozens—no, hundreds of times, but it was different when there was so much skin she could see beyond it. Sure, it wasn't like the skin wasn't always there, but it was covered by the layers of clothing he always wore, layers of clothing that had apparently been covering the nice arms that picked her up that one time they went ice skating on a whim, and the rest of the collarbones that she'd always seen a bit of but were now on full display, and the chest—
Dropping her gaze, Marinette awkwardly slipped two fingers into his shorts pocket, giving it a little tug and blushing beet red as she asked, “Didn't you come down for a drink?”
Because I could really use mine right now, she didn't say.
She heard him breathe unusually deeply, then he asked in reply, “Is that okay?”
“Chest—yes!” She removed her hand from his shorts, waving past her shoulder at the bar. “We can drink together—but separately, because we'll be drinking from a cup but not the same cup since we'll have different cups. Is iced tea good?”
The silence that followed was deadly, but she wouldn't accept death before she had a nice moment with her handsome crush of multiple years. One of the many great things about Luka was that he never wavered at nor made fun of her substantial awkwardness, so if there was anyone to catch her in such a state, she preferred it to be him.
She peered up cautiously at his face, surprised when she saw that he was blushing up to his ears as his head turned to look at her again. She hadn't taken him for the type to get embarrassed seeing a girl partly undressed given that he shared a room with his sister.
It couldn't have been because it was her... could it?
“Then sure. I'd love to,” he finally said, not acknowledging the fumble.
Turning away from him like he was her own traitorous thoughts, Marinette nodded and went back into the kitchen area to get another cup for him. Quickly pouring the iced tea inside, she slid it across the bar to Luka and picked up her own cup. She was careful when daring to look over at him, keeping the cup and her hand in the right position to block as much of him as possible while they both drank.
They tipped their drinks at the same time, and she didn't miss that he took just as big of a gulp as she did, the both of them draining nearly the whole, cool, refreshing thing in one go. It was odd to her that they both seemed equally thirsty, but it was at least a little romantic for them to be on the same wavelength.
Luka took a deep, heavy sigh as he put his cup back down, wiping his mouth with the back of his hand. “I couldn't sleep. I'm not used to... this.”
“Sleepovers?” she wondered, fiddling with her cup rather than putting it down. "You've never had one before?"
“There were a couple,” he said with a shrug, “but not with this many people. It's...”
“Too many songs in one album?” she recited, swearing she'd heard that line once or twice from him before.
He met her eyes for a moment, flashing an affectionate smile, then took another sip of his drink. “Something like that. I grew up without that many guys in my life, and on the Liberty it was usually just me and all the strong, smart women who came aboard.”
She giggled, still remembering fond days of Kitty Section and Ivan as the only other guy most of the time. “Yeah. Juleka, Rose, and your mom are all great people.”
He snorted, though she didn't see what was particularly funny about what she said. Tipping his head back to grin at her, he corrected, “I meant you too, Marinette.”
“Uh—!” She blushed all over again, immediately taking in the rest of her drink, lamenting how quickly it went down. Somehow his way with words hadn't faded with time, much to the distress of her heart. “That's... I-I thought it was a little late at night for that?“
That being whatever conversation they appeared to be having right then, the kind that had gone on-and-off throughout the course of their years together.
“I hate to tell you, Marinette,” he began, all with the tone of someone who did not 'hate to tell her'. He reached for the pitcher without looking in a silent offer to refill her cup for her, then continued, “But you aren't one to talk. I'm just playing along to your tune.”
“Me?” She pouted, passing him the pitcher. “What did I do?”
“Your—” His eyes flicked down her body for an instant, but he cleared his throat, thinking better of whatever he was about to say. His face flushed and he, after pouring her another cup of iced tea, filled his own back to the top as well. “You're an incredible designer.”
She was thoroughly confused now, not knowing what he'd been looking at. Sure, she'd taken her shirt off and it was a bit embarrassing having her bra showing in front of her crush, but—
Then, it hit her all at once, her head tipping down to look at herself. She had been branching out when it came to fashion design, with bras being one of them, but she hadn't realized that she'd been wearing this particular one. It was covered with Kitty Section colors and music notes, which wasn't an indicator of anything on its own as it wasn't specifically labeled as such, but what was a giveaway was the clip holding the cups together.
She'd designed the clip after a Kitty Section mask; his Kitty Section mask. Having worn it every now and then to test how good it was at maintaining its durability, she hadn't given a thought to the fact that she'd been wearing it.
Did he realize that too?
Swallowing, Marinette felt the need to physically get away from the situation in her embarrassment. Moving around to the other side of the bar and taking her cup with her, she sat herself down on one of the stools and let her head drop onto the smooth surface. “I'm sorry.”
“No, I—I shouldn't have looked,” Luka insisted, sounding genuinely guilty about it. “I swore I saw my colors, and...”
“You saw right,” she whined, wondering if it was too late to pretend that she was wearing a new piece in a Kitty Section fashion line.
The disapproving frown - aimed at himself - was evident in his voice. “But I didn't want to make you feel awkward.”
It was silly hearing him talk like that when she was the one who wore it in the first place. Did it even matter if she tried to deny anything or make an excuse at that point? She'd been thinking about this when she got up, but now he was actually there, in front of her, thinking he made her feel bad.
She put her hand over her cup, twisting it back and forth on the bar. Raising her head only enough to look at him, she assured softly, “...You didn't. Not you, anyway, because... because you're not any of the other guys.”
She winced, hoping he wouldn't take it the wrong way. It could've easily been interpreted as her saying that she wasn't shy because she didn't see him as someone she could be attracted to or care about, when actually it was the exact opposite.
Instead of responding, he looked away and took another long sip of his iced tea. Watching him quench his thirst made her want to do the same, and she did just that.
“I'm not tired anymore,” he said all of a sudden.
She hummed in agreement. “Me neither.”
They both paused, and for a second Marinette assumed that Luka was just as clueless as her on what to do next. Then, his free hand fell upon the counter between them, angled in her direction, and she sat up to wordlessly ask for clarification.
Their eyes met again, and he asked, “Do you want to keep talking somewhere else?”
She hesitated before replying even though she knew the answer. She did want to talk more, but his words carried more weight than usual and she felt it. Things had already become a bit more intimate and she didn't want to respond right away like she didn't notice it.
She inhaled, exhaled, then took in the rest of her drink and accepted that she would have to set her cup aside for the time being. Dropping her hand quietly on the bar and sliding her fingers onto his, she answered with her full chest, “Yes.”
He nodded once, cheeks noticeably pink, then turned to open the fridge behind him. With one hand he put the pitcher back inside, and with the other he sipped his remaining iced tea.
Marinette felt a buzzing sensation go through her at the knowledge that something was happening right now. He wasn't weirded out by her wearing his symbol on her bra, to the point where he even wanted to keep talking to her? While he was still shirtless?
She needed to do something - anything - to get the energy out.
“I'll be right back,” she told him extra quietly, getting off of the stool and making her way back to the Couffaine siblings' room. She faintly heard him make an affirmative noise, so she felt assured that he wouldn't think she was running away.
The large bag she'd brought her sketchpad and other assorted supplies in was resting near her little sleeping spot. Sneaking carefully so as to not make a sound, she crouched down in front of it and reached inside, fumbling around for the particular object she was looking for.
Forcing down the excited 'Found it!' that she wanted to let out as her fingers brushed it, she pressed her lips together tightly and pulled it out: a scented candle, encased in glass with a few cinnamon sticks on the sticker at the front.
She stood up, stopped, then got back down to place her bag where she'd been. Pulling the blanket over it to give the appearance that she was still sleeping there, she adjusted it until she was satisfied before making her way back out of the room.
Luka was still there, having put their cups away while she was gone, and was in the process of pulling out a large but thin blanket that had been hidden behind the couch. Marinette looked on approvingly, then shyly approached with her own addition to their future of “talking somewhere else.”
“I was going to use this during the girls' sleepover,” she explained, wiggling the candle at him, “but they weren't into it.”
He responded immediately, “I am,” then leaned over to whisper against her ear, “You know where the matches are.”
Her body felt hot all over again, like she'd still been underneath her thick blanket, only this time it was entirely pleasant. He hadn't said anything crazy, she told herself, but she felt affected anyway. So did he, judging by the way his lips twitched as he turned back to the blanket.
With a bouncy but silent pep in her step, Marinette went over to the kitchen, pulling out one of the drawers and immediately finding the matches he'd been referring to inside. Putting it in next to the candle's wick, she glanced over her shoulder to see what Luka was up to.
He'd bundled up the corners of the blanket oddly, giving it some sort of sack shape, and threw it over his shoulder one-handed in Santa Claus fashion (if Santa Claus was a boy nearing his twenties, shirtless, and violently attractive to her anyway). Scanning the room over, she noted that all the pillows on the couch were gone.
She saw then what he was up to and smiled, walking through the kitchen to meet him by the door to the stairs. It was the closest she'd been compared to when she'd tugged on his shorts pocket, and she still couldn't help the little involuntary whine she let out.
She wanted to touch him, but holding his hand seemed strange at that point. She eyed him up and down while simultaneously trying not to blatantly check him out, but as her eyes darted back up to his face, his expression told her that he didn't mind the attention.
He didn't mind it at all. He appeared delighted, actually.
As the hand furthest from her was the one holding the makeshift sack, Luka offered his free arm to her in an obvious gesture. Marinette felt her heart skip several beats, but was drawn towards him like a magnet, bringing her arm up to link with his while her other hand held the candle to her chest.
Together, they went through the door and headed up the stairs as one unit, footsteps in complete sync. At the top, they turned, not to head into the greenhouse area or where the boys were sleeping, but in the cabin where it was tiny and private.
Marinette took notice of how reluctant Luka was to pull away from her, but he did so anyway so he could drop the blanket on the floor and sort out the pillows. She set the candle down in the corner of the cabin, then got down on her knees to help him.
Before long, they'd set up a cute little comfy space with an absurd amount of pillows, the blanket atop them to nearly complete the look. For the finishing touch, she passed him the matches to light one, which he passed back so she could light the candle. The scent of cinnamon steadily began to waft throughout the cabin and the two got comfy on the pillows, staring out at the night that the open area of the cabin allowed them.
Thinking it was about time she addressed the Kitty Section colored elephant in the room, especially after he was the one to prompt them talking more, she rubbed an arm and said sheepishly, “Sorry for not asking.”
He leaned closer, raising a brow at her. “For what?”
“You know.” She averted her gaze, slipping a thumb underneath her bra strap and sliding it back-and-forth. “I felt like I should've gotten permission?”
“Ah.”
“But I didn't know how to ask. How do you ask someone—you know—” She scoffed at herself, waving her hands wildly in front of her. “—about that, but you make me comfortable and I don't make other people feel comfortable, so I just... did it quietly.”
“Mm,” he hummed. That was all he did at first, long enough to make her think that would be the end of it, but then he asked, “Why would it make me feel uncomfortable?”
She gave him a puzzled look, feeling like it was obvious, but he gave her a look back like it wasn't. She couldn't see anything but him then, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear and watching his eyes follow the movement.
“I...” She brought her knees up towards her chest, resting her arms on top of them. “I always thought I felt things too much? Everyone says that I feel too loudly, but you don't. You're quiet and musical, and you're so nice that I didn't know if...”
She trailed off, unsure of exactly what she didn't know. If it was whether Luka would be dishonest for the sake of her feelings, then she already knew that wasn't true. He didn't seem like the type of guy who wouldn't talk to her again over some awkwardness either.
“...I didn't know if I was enough,” she concluded, and it was as much of a surprise to herself to say as it was for him. Hiding her face against her legs, embarrassed, she explained, “I still had so much I wanted to do for you, to prove I was, so it was better to hide it until then.”
“Marinette.”
She felt his fingers against her hand, then a gentle squeeze as he pulled it towards him. She brought her head back up to watch and he held her hand up near his face.
“I never thought you felt too much, or too loud. Your feelings were yours, and I never wanted you to hide them.” He raised her hand higher, close enough that she could feel his breath against her fingers. “I like them where they are now: here, where I can play the same song back to you.”
And there it was: what should've been obvious based on them mirroring each other over the last few minutes, yet actually hearing it was like a weight off her chest. Her eyes softened, fingers shaking in his hand from emotion, and while it was more apparent on her how relieved she was, an observant eye could see the same - albeit more subtle - on him.
Even while looking so calm, she knew it wasn't only her hand that shook, and it was too warm to mistake it for anything else.
“Luka...” She let out a single laugh, shaking her head at herself. “I used to be so sure you weren't attracted to me.”
“Really?” he gasped, genuinely surprised. With a sense of urgency, he tugged her hand towards his shoulder, extending his other hand towards her free one. “May I?”
She didn't know what he was up to, but trusted him without a word and slipped her other hand into his. He pulled her towards him, slowly easing her onto his lap, then grabbed onto her sides and encouraged her upwards. Going along with his motions, she got on her knees with the inner part of her legs touching the outer sides of his, ignoring the reminder that he rode his bike a lot and she could feel it.
With her having raised herself up enough that she hovered over Luka, combined with the way he stared up at her, she almost felt like royalty being bowed down to and appreciated.
“Do you know what I've been wanting to do since I saw you in this?” he asked, his hands on her bare sides.
Whatever got him to keep his hands there was fine with her. She idly tapped on his shoulders as she held onto them, replying, “No?”
He looked straight ahead, eye level with her chest and deliberately staring at the bra he'd tried not to stare at so far. Leaning forward, he opened his mouth, holding her still as he clamped down on the clip of her bra.
Marinette's heart raced. She shuddered, hands tightening around his shoulders as she felt—whatever he was doing. The front of her bra was shifting along with him and it was hard to get much of any thought going on with his head so close to her chest.
Then, she heard a distinct 'click', and with it came the feeling of the bra's cups loosening. Heat overcame her as her wide eyes stared him down, and he peered up at her with his teeth still keeping the clip from coming apart entirely.
Did he really—and with his mouth...?
She tensed, biting her lower lip at the message she had so clearly received from him. Satisfied, he let go of her sides to grip the bottom of the cups, opening his mouth and sliding his fingers inwards to redo the clip again.
She didn't doubt that Luka being so respectful with her at all times of the day contributed to the idea that he wasn't physically attracted to her, but she learned then that he was a near-adult just as she was with everything that came with that. He just hadn't shown it out of what he deemed to be care for her, which only made him all the more attractive.
His eyes, deep blue and longing for nothing but her, were an ocean of possibilities, with her onboard the boat sailing across it. It'd been an unsteady ride at times, her feet struggling to keep balance when the waves of affection struck, and she'd remained on it for fear of drowning.
But it'd been silly, as not only would he not let her go, but how could she drown when he offered her so much life?
Trailing a hand past his shoulder, fingertips running across his upper back and up the back of his neck, her breaths were charged as she gripped his hair. She got down to level with him, glancing meaningfully at his lips and requesting, “Me next.”
Neither waited any longer for the kiss, Luka's hands going around to grip the back of her bra and waistband to pull her in. Marinette, eager to take initiative, parted her lips to probe his with her tongue, a harmonious duet of a moan escaping them when he welcomed her in.
Had she been thinking at all about being heard, she might not've minded getting caught anyway. Being the person that made Luka play at his best and able to show others that he was hers and she was his and look how lucky they are all sounded incredibly appealing. She was awed at the way his confidence bolstered hers and vice versa.
They tasted each other, both the unfamiliarity of the other's mouth and the lingering hint of iced tea. They were two threads of fabric weaving themselves together, ensuring that they would never have to part again, and Marinette's mind buzzed with excitement.
She'd always wondered why Luka, despite being a smidgen older than her and having raised money since he was able to get a part-time job, had never gone anywhere, staying on the Liberty as if waiting for something. She could be certain then, that he'd been waiting for her, clinging to whatever evidence, hope, or curiosity that he may've had that things were mutual between them. He'd sent the knowledge into her through the kiss, yet another case of talking to the other without needing to say it.
The kiss broke with two gasps for air, their chests heaving as they took each other in. Luka's eyes, once iced over not with innocence exactly but as a way of hiding the depth of his feelings for her, now burned with love and desire. Marinette knew instinctively that hers were the same.
Letting out a breath, she reached back for just a moment to grab the corner of the blanket, bringing it up and around them for coverage. Nestling herself around him and cherishing the way he cuddled her so gently after such an intense moment between them, she could only giggle at herself.
“I can't believe I confessed to you in my underwear,” she whispered, a secret for just the two of them.
Drunk on her affection, he chuckled blissfully. “You confessed to me.”
“I can't believe that's all you're focusing on!“

Felix v Chloe
Lemme just say, I hate the way Felix is treated in the show and the fandom compared to Chloe
Somehow, someway, the characters can forgive Felix and even have him on the team at the end (?????), and all of his actions are completely absolved due to his backstory: “Oh he was just doing all that for his survival! He was just an awkward quirky guy with no social cues all along!”
But Chloe’s backstory even being brought up for an explanation is immediately shut down, it doesn’t excuse a single thing she’s done! Hell, it doesn’t even explain why she’s the way she is because Mylene has an absent mother and she turned out fine! Doesn’t matter that Mylene had a father that actually taught her how to act and didn’t just buy her love with constant gifts and abuses of power, there’s just no excuse!
Both act in their own self interest, turning to the villain to get something they want, but nonono, Felix, without apologizing once mind you, is redeemed and forgiven while Chloe gets sent off to NY with her mother! Everyone wins!
Not to mention Felix did arguably worse than Chloe
Felix was the one who actively made Hawkmoth more powerful by giving him the miraculous (not to mention giving HM the ring) while with Chloe, Hawkmoth got the miraculous on his own and she was just along for the ride basically. Then Felix came back and snapped away everyone. Chloe sent everyone away when she was akumatized as well, but at least we could see where they went and there wasn’t any confusion as to whether they got snapped to some pocket dimension or straight up disappeared. Oh, and she was akumatized by Gabriel who was literally manipulating her along with Tomoe and Lila at the time??
I feel like any arguments for Felix about worrying for his or Adrien’s safety, any excuses, should’ve been thrown out the window in the season 4 finale. After that point he had full control over himself and gave up Adrien’s free will, and he still came back to snap everyone away! Now, I would absolutely be fine with this (cept the Adrien part) I mean trauma with humans isn’t going to go away just like that even when there’s no immediate risk anymore (unless you get a girlfriend apparently). My issue with that is how this same sentiment isn’t given to Chloe whatsoever, her lash outs aren’t given any thought beyond “oh she’s evil for the sake of it”, ignoring how the trauma of her mother leaving her and treating her like garbage would still affect her, and it drives me up the wall
Not to mention the show actively tries to pretend that the adults surrounding Chloe’s life don’t have any influence on her whatsoever, even though they obviously do and Tomoe and Gabriel literally set her up as a scapegoat in this season. Somehow her father isn’t responsible whatsoever for the way she was raised, her mother leaving apparently didn’t even affect her behavior because we’re genuinely supposed to believe this teenager is just an evil person. Somehow the storyline of her being set up as a scapegoat by two grown ass adults is literally ignored by the narrative including some of the fans
Oh but Felix gets all the sympathy regardless of what he did
Right.
I wouldn’t hate Felix or his character direction so much if it wasn’t a direct slap to the face for Chloe, not to mention giving the Chloe stans fuel! I mean, it literally proved their point that Chloe deserved a redemption because full grown adults who’ve done worse and a guy who’s done nearly the same shit as her are forgiven and “redeemed”, ridiculous (I say that a lot huh)

First Half of Miraculous Season 2 Done. Here's my thoughts:
The Collector: A pretty good start! They made the teens smart while still being dumb teens!
Despair Bear: Chloe needs a therapist, arguably moreso than a redemption arc and especially a downward villainous spiral. Also Dangit Grandpa
Prime Queen: Wow, this was a lot more chill than expected. Even Cat Noir was left aghast at what Nadja was doing, Nadja seemed to be pressuring Ladybug and Cat Noir more for views than anything else, and I'm not entirely sure Akuma personalities can be trusted.
Befana: Fun fact: This was the episode that got me into Miraculous in the first place because of how shocking it was. And then I discovered even more. In hindsight from watching the other episodes, it was relatively darker, but mostly because it's Marinette's friends and family that are getting G-rated killed instead of random civilians like every other episode.
Riposte: Kagami is here! I don't see too much chemistry with her and Adrien yet, but she's cool and I like her and feel like I could be friends in real life. Also this feels like a relatively uncommon trope, but I wish "X is blatantly a woman but no one notices" was spedran through by someone with brains.
Robustus: Pretty good, all things considered. From what I've heard about Miraculous lore, creating sapient or at the very least semi-sapient AI isn't that uncommon for weirdness hotspots, and I'm putting Max in the list of characters I think should have figured out Ladybug and Cat Noir's identity. (There's four now!)
Gigantitan: It turns out my favorite parts of Miraculous are the slice-of-life bits instead of the superhero bits the show is about! We got to see more of Marinette's friends! Alix! Mylene! Julie! The Eeby Deeby herself! Also it was really sweet to see Adrien's bodyguard calm down just by looking at the kid. Adrien's true daddy.
Dark Owl: No wonder these two aren't allowed to know eachothers' identities, considering how much of a loose tongue Marinette has!
Glaciator: Alright, it's finally time to talk about the sins of Marinette and Cat Noir, considering the fan content I osmosed before watching the series was heavy salt stuff, and I wanna see how much it holds up. So far Cat Noir has acted as if he's already dating Ladybug previously, and in this episode he got mad at Ladybug for not showing up at a date when she herself said she might not come due to having other plans. Isn't he supposed to be used to not-showing-up disappointment as Adrien due to his dad? Is it different because he's Cat Noir? Is this a breaking point? No matter, he eventually calms down and is ultimately the less bad member of the relationship. Marinette, meanwhile, doesn't have as many misdemeanors to her name but they're a lot worse. She stole Adrien's phone to get rid of an embarrassing message and got away with it too, what the hell, and also owns the schedule. Although I don't believe she stalked Adrien and made it herself due to how busy she is as both Marinette and Ladybug, that's just weird and wrong. I'm reluctant to call her a stalker, but her actions are still wrong. Ultimately, this relationship is going to need a lot of therapy and counseling to not crash and burn. What were we talking about again? Oh yeah. The ice cream episode. I think the ice cream guy can be wrong and he doesn't understand that.
Sapotis: Silly little fun episode, also it introduces the first new Miraculous holder! I'm honestly fine with it so far if it means more screentime for side characters. I honestly really like seeing Marinette's classmates. They're neat. Also I was this close to putting Alya on the list but she proves time and time again that she doesn't actually know Ladybug's identity.
Gorizilla: In this episode we are introduced to Adrien's deranged parasocial fanbase. I'm starting to understand some of his father's decisions at this point. This is what I was talking about with the schedule, by the way. These obsessive stalker creeps make Marinette look reasonable, and I wouldn't be surprised if the one guy who I'm pretty sure becomes Party Crasher discreetly stalked Adrien to get his schedule. Restraining orders need to be filed.
Captain Hardrock: One of the funniest episodes, up there with Dark Cupid. Also Luka is here! And he already has great chemistry with Marinette! And more Rosie and Julie content even if it's crumbs!

* ok here’s why Sole Crusher and Zoe’s story throughout it is a queer allegory: a very long post (that might be good idk)
* (doing this because I only just paid attention to it and I haven’t really seen anyone else mention it, like I found an amino post and that’s it so yeah)
Tumblr media
* before I begin, I know Zoe is queer, she is sapphic, but this episode came out before Adoration so it wasn’t “official” then (she was probably always intended to be sapphic but still)
Tumblr media
* ok so first, Zoe states that she has to act all the time in front of people, how she’s “acting all the time, playing these different roles, trying to please everyone, until I couldn’t do it anymore”, and that can absolutely be read as a queer kid who’s in a situation where the people around them won’t be accepting of who they are, hence why she wants to be accepted; “the real me”, she says, and why it hurts her when, even though she left New York, she has to do act AGAIN to please her mom and Chloe. It can be read as someone in a more conservative household/environment being forced to pretend, to act they way their family and others around them want them to act.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
* Zoe says that she wanted to meet her family’s expectations, and that if she did everything Chloe told her to do, she’d accept her (basically saying, my family expects me to be “normal”, so I will pretend I’m not like this hoping that they’ll accept me)
* she says that, at the boarding school, she was “playing a part, being someone else, hoping they’d accept me. But finally, I just couldn’t anymore. That’s when everyone turned against me.” This can so clearly be read as her “playing a part, being someone else, hoping they’d accept me” (pretending to be straight in front of others, hoping that if she keeps up the act, people won’t question her and she’ll be safe from everyone’s prejudice and judgement).
* and then there’s “But finally, I just couldn’t anymore. That’s when everyone turned against me”, which can be read as “when I just couldn’t act anymore, and I let my guard down, and I came out, everyone judged me, everyone hated me, I wasn’t ‘normal’ to them anymore”.
Tumblr media
* she says that she understands if the others don’t want to be her friend, and is then surprised when they accept her. Mylene says they’re “one big happy family”, and Rose says that she’ll be fine with them (Rose also suggested “adopting” Zoe earlier in the episode, and idk if this is just my experience but in middle school a lot of my friends were queer and two of them “adopted” me and a few of our other friends, so yeah)
* Marinette states that “You’ll never have to leave again, Zoe. Welcome to Paris”, which can be her telling Zoe that there’s now people she can connect with that won’t ridicule and judge her for who she is, that they’ll accept her, and she won’t have to leave again if things go south.
Tumblr media
* now onto the Andre scenes, first there’s the roof scene, where Andre admits that when he was young, he wanted to be a movie director, but he had to give that up to “earn his place”, which leads to Zoe confessing to him how she wanted to be an actress, but now acting just hurts her since she does it all the time to please everyone else, to be accepting.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
* and so, Andre decided to show her his “cellar of dreams”, a cellar where he keeps things from his directing days. He then states that “it can be lonely when even your own family can’t accept you for who you are. We end up burying our feelings deep here, and here”, putting back Emilie’s profile. “If you want, I can make some space for you”, he says, and Zoe puts her sneakers inside.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
* I 100% read this as an adult, someone else who is queer, seeing someone younger going through a similar situation to theirs, and being able to sympathize with them. He says “it can be lonely when even your own family can’t accept you for who you are”, which is, unfortunately, what a lot of queer kids (and adults too) go through with their own families. Him showing her what’s in the cellar could be seen as him showing her that she’s not alone, that he’s like her, that he’s gone through what she’s going through now (note how he holds the profile close to his heart), and that he is able to understand her.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
* now the ending scene. Chloe and Audrey are upset that Zoe went against them and demand that she be sent back to New York, and Andre says that it would just take too long to enroll her in another boarding school, so for now she can stay, but Chloe demands that she has to stay in another part of the hotel, where she can’t see her, and Andre obliges. Zoe thanks Andre, and asks him to promise that he won’t keep his dreams locked away for too long, which he agrees too. The end cards then show Zoe interacting with the others, all while texting Marinette, saying “Thank you for everything! You were right. I can be myself here, ‘cause you and the others will always be there for me. For the first time in my life, I actually feel at home!”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
* the constant threat of sending Zoe back to New York, which is in almost all of Zoe’s major appearances, can be seen as someone being disowned and kicked out of their home because they’re queer, because they’re not abiding by their families’ expectations.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
* Zoe asking Andre to not leave his dreams behind can be seen as her trying to encourage him to be himself, to have more confidence in who he is.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
* and the text message can be read as her thanking Marinette for introducing her to a community of people who will accept her no matter what, people who will help her live authentically, which is something she’s always wanted. She now has people she can talk too, and who will support her, without the threat of ridicule and harassment.
Tumblr media
* now onto the more visual aspects of the episode, there isn’t as much here but still (this post is so long I’m sorry lmao)
* first, Zoe blushing after giving Marinette her number
Tumblr media
* then there’s the cellar and what that represents
Tumblr media
* and then there are two instances, from what I could see, of the pan flag being put into the episode (maybe I missed some idk)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
* and lastly, this one card with Nino pointing and Zoe smiling (conveniently he’s pointing to where the rainbow is hmmmmmmmmm)
Tumblr media
* and then for the final end card, where there are hearts next to Zoe as she looks at Marinette, the first person who was nice to her (aside from Jess, but we didn’t know that until recently so)
Tumblr media
* (again, so sorry that the post is this long lmao, I just had so much to say about this episode and I’m bad at condensing my thoughts)
* (also please like and reblog this, but also you don’t have to lol)

Sorry, some more, "Not mean just rude" thoughts, but like, I honestly can' tell if Adrien in this context would be bothered by any of Chloe's behavior before getting like, enough experience with none mean people to start making connections.
Making Mylene cry?
Well everyone was getting frustrated, Nino was borderline yelling already & its not like it was an unfair question. It was inelegant and crudely put "Hey!", so it didn't help the situation but it wasn't mean, just confused.
Destroying Rose's gift?
Audrey does that to her own daughter &let's be real here, Gabriel 100% does not let most fan gifts anywhere near Adrien. It was blunt, Nathalie would have just taken it & tossed it out when no one was looking, but it was not cruel right?
Stealing Marinette's design?
While Gabriel's ego is too big to take ideas form others, he 100% uses his connections to stay ahead of the curve, as well as to undercut or sabotage his rivals, so again, that's just business. Adrien might not do it but that's cos he (Allegedly) hasn't needed to & doesn't really care about modeling.
Embarrassing Kim with is bungled confession?
Entire game shows and TV hosts seem to base their whole premise on lying to humiliate people or just being assholes to make them upset for ratings & otherwise rubbing people's noses into the dirt to make the losses sting. Adrien doesn't cos he was raised to be well mannered but its not like he or the rest of class don't watch those shows, so again, not mean.
The only thing he might consider out of pocket may be locking Juleka in the bathroom.
Mostly because its more physical than he's likely used to outside of groupies where the physical side is done in self defense and cos if there was like, a fire Juleka could have been trapped in there.
But even then (Waves and vaguely) Kinda fifty fifty, he might still see it as normal cutthroat behavior. Or I could see him getting Chloe to apologize for that one.
yeah exactly!

Kim chose differently
At the start of the series, Kim’s behavior was noted to be insensitive as he was seen making fun of Ivan for not being able to confess to Mylene back in “Origins part 1”, aiding and siding with Chloe against Alya back in “Lady Wifi”, ridiculing the zookeeper and his panther in “Animan”, etc. (more here) Now, although Kim did express less and less of this behavior as the series progressed, we never actually saw him being confronted about it, even more so was that we never truly saw him look back on his mistakes when situations escalated against him.
(Kim begs for help as he tries to hide from Animan, never looking back on why he was being pursued)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In “Derision”,  Kim is finally faced with the reality of his behavior, and it is here where we realize Kim was all in all oblivious to the consequences of the things he says and does, as we not only witness him proclaim his admiration for Chloe’s beauty and sense of humor in front of his girlfriend Ondine, but also finding no fault in the cruel prank he helped carry out with Chloe the year before that humiliated and traumatized Marinette.
Tumblr media
When Ondine shows great disappointment in Kim’s insensitivity and begins informing him of the wrong in both his behavior and actions, Kim is unwilling to be compliant about the situation as he genuinely believed he was not doing anything wrong by simply performing pranks and making jokes, why? because to him, it was only natural to assume everyone around him would share his sense of humor and find his actions just as funny as he did. Up to now, Kim has had the liberty of saying whatever he wanted and doing whatever he felt like, without anyone confronting him about his behavior.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
So to Kim, Ondine wasn’t helping, she was threatening his free spirit, restricting him from speaking his mind and limiting what he could do. Hearing others tell him it wasn’t good to be himself, was an insult to him and his way of life. As a result, through his mind alone, Kim was willing to believe there was no fault with him, everyone else was just in the wrong for not attempting to share his sense of humor and were unwilling to understand that his actions(through his eyes alone) were only ever meant to be " just a joke". However, what ultimately makes Kim reevaluate himself, was coming to terms with what led him to be akumatized into Dark Humor in the first place. Near the end of “Derision”, when Kim is once again faced with the same conversation over his behavior, he looks at the charm Ladybug gave him and is reminded of the little words of wisdom he left her, “May it help you avoid making the same mistakes again”.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Although Kim was originally angry over Ondine’s words the first time, he understood it was his unwillingness to listen that caused him to be akumatized. Rather than make the same mistake again, Kim decided to take the time to really think about exactly what Ondine was trying to tell him and figure out if what she was saying was true or not, and sure enough, he realized she was right.
Ondine told him he does awful things even when he isn’t akumatized, and despite him not knowing whether or not his jokes would actually hurt someone, it was no excuse, because although he believed such jokes would be just as entertaining to everyone as it was to him, the fact of the matter was that his jokes were not always morally right. In one little moment, everything he had said and done in his life came flooding back all at once, and for the first time, Kim took the time to really think about what it was like being in the position of those who suffered the pain of his jokes, and thought about what Marinette had to go through as the person she liked not only humiliated her, but broke her heart, a feeling Kim had likely realized he was all to familiar with the day he had attempted to express his own affection to a girl he liked, that girl being of course, Chloe.
Tumblr media
Chloe told him the year before that if you like a girl you should get on one knee, compliment her and give her jewelry, and as we all saw in “Dark Cupid”, that’s exactly what he attempted to do with her when he tried to ask her to be his valentine. The results were of course disastrous as Kim realized he was not only rejected, but humiliated as Chloe took an embarrassing picture of him and shared it with the entire school as a joke. It didn’t matter if Chloe did or didn’t know her little joke would hurt him, the pain was still all to real for him.
Tumblr media
Kim said in the beginning of “Derision” that he is the way he is and he likes it, he had no intention of giving up what he believed was simply a part of who he was, but upon realizing the true pain his sense of humor had inflicted onto the people around him, Kim was willing to accept that living a life where he would continue to hurt others over his jokes for his own amusement, was simply not a way of life he wanted to continue upholding.
Back in “Syren”, when Kim expressed his admiration for the heroes, he explained to Ondine just how much he wanted to be just like them, but because he had no real powers of his own or any way of knowing how to train to be a superhero, Kim decided to instead uphold his life as someone who would help others in his day to day life, just as any hero would.
Tumblr media
In “Party Crasher”, when Kim helped master Fu, Kim explained that he believed being selfless and helping others was something that should be as natural a reflex as it was for fish who would swim in the waters. It was Kim’s aspirations and drive to be selfless that made master Fu decide to entrust him with the powers of the monkey miraculous.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And so, as Kim was faced with the reality of his behavior near the end of “Derision”, the choice was left to him to either continue living as he was, regardless of what others thought of him, and expect others to abide by his views of the world and his sense of humor, or set aside his pride and accept the truth about himself, that he had committed wrong to not just one person, but to many good people.
Tumblr media
Kim ultimately chose to commit himself to changing by making the effort to reevaluate himself and be willing to sacrifice the part of his sense of humor he now realized was never morally correct, not just for the sake of the good people around him, but for himself as he strived to become the hero he always wanted to be. Kim understood he had a lot to make amends for, and although he knew a sincere apology would not erase everything he had done, it was more than enough to let Marinette feel willing to set aside their past and give him another chance to better himself.

Butterfly Marinette
Once or twice I've mused on the prospect of shuffling around some Miraculous and hero or villain roles.
One included the idea of an adult centric AU where Juleka is trying to get the miraculous to cure Rose. & there's no shortage of "Adrien becomes Hawk Moth" AUs and even a "Marinette Butterfly" AU which inspired this post.
Just to be clear, this would very much be a "Ladybug Marinette, actual villain, role swap/shuffle" AU idea. So while she might get top billing with the main hero, she'd not be a dapper anti hero, or an actually correct villain.
As to overarching arc, I feel there's two main ways to handle the idea:.
TYPE 1: Marinette is a sympathetic villain, a kid seeking a wish to better her families situation, and doing the wrong thing but its a super hero show so let's maybe chill out a bit.
She eventually gets talked down and shifts into heroism or gives up her Miraculous for awhile ETC. Basically what people expected & or hoped for canon Gabriel or received with movie Gabriel, minus the prison time cos super heroes, optimism, prison reform now, ETC.
TYPE 2: Marinette starts out as a sympathetic villain, a kid seeking a wish to better her families situation, and doing the wrong thing but its a super hero show so let's maybe chill out a bit.
But as the story progresses her supervillainy, allies & losses send her down an increasingly twisted and vicious path as she slowly but surely becomes someone genuinely malevolent. Basically what some argue happened, or was meant to have happened with show Gabriel.
Note: In both cases, Marinette would not start out wanting to cause harm. Would justify any lapses with the wish fixing everything, and even try and talk herself into how her Akuma is also helping. Such as getting Ivan & Mylene together.
Unlike Gabriel she may try and explain her motives at least to a degree, but given the nature of her desire & not wanting to give away her identity it would not get her very far. This would definitely help foster some resentment.
More below the cut:
Motives & Circumstances:
There's plenty of potential motives, the one's discussed that feel bad enough to lead to such actions while not being too extreme are:
The bakery burned down in a freak accident, and Rolland suffered a heart attack as a result.
The family is stuck living with and caring for him while Sabine tries to keep things afloat and Tom falls into a deep depression. Marinette wants the fire to have never happened.
OR
One of Marinette's parents passes away due to natural causes or accident and its a strain to keep the bakery running.
This leads her to be somewhat neglected as her extended family is too far away or too disinterested to be of much use. Adding to her desperation to bring them back.
The lost parent could be either Tom or Sabine. I think I'd go with Sabine, as it lessens the chances of Tom's family involving helping.
OR
Both parents pass away (Maybe a bit extreme) or are otherwise incapacitated. Thus, Gina is Marinette's guardian and she is nice; but being who she is, she thinks total freedom is great.
A a result she is neglectful and essentially trusts Marinette to handle things herself, with insurance money & the like covering all her needs.
Basically she's fun when around, but only shows up intermittently to , she may have taken Marinette on a road trip to "Grieve" but is otherwise rather uninvolved at best.
OR
Some combo of the above, but Marinette is explicitly being aided by an external figure. Likely either a very different Fu who may have lost the Miraculous, or Marianne seeking to change her own past.
Or Nathalie who is likely initially using Marinette as a catspaw to get the Miraculous herself. Possibly because she only found the Butterfly after it bonded to Marinette & cannot take it by force.
Miraculous:
Where did she get the Butterfly and how did she learn to use it?
Given the Butterfly seems to have been in the wind, its entirely possible it could have just been purchased by chance or ended up as a family heirloom. Or it could be given to Marinette as a gift post (Insert tragedy here) to try and make her feel better, likely by Gina or a notable lore character like Marianne who doesn't realize the enormity of the act.
Activating it and convincing Nooroo to help is theoretically not that hard. Just imagine a sad Marinette crying and Nooroo will likely emerge and try to offer their assistance. With the situation steadily shifting into securing the wish but only after its too late and they've already explained too much about their powers to stop Marinette.
Note: I think Nooroo's nature as an empath could easily be argued to make them inadvertently more malleable towards helping their holder with things they disagree with.
Limitations:
Marinette would still, initially, have the same limitations of any underage holder. IE, activate the power, then have five minutes before needing to do a recharge.
This would work because we know Akuma can self charge to a degree. It would ensure her early Akuma are not necessarily super strong or too much of a strain but could escalate.
& it means they are not always under her control as she needs to recharge and then reconnect with them to regain her influence.
These limitations could be overcome via an ally serving the same role as Catalyst. This would likely serve to initially just make Marinette as strong as an adult holder.
But could eventually be expanded into supporting more than one Akuma at a time if she's strategic or experimental with her powers.
She would also likely need to initially be near her targets, explaining her mostly targeting her peers early on before expanding outward.
Note: I think combining more than one Kwami would demonstrate the instability risks because she'd be doing it all the time. So that would need to be considered. She'd also likely try and make her transformed state look more adult like so people don't realize she's so young.
None Miraculous Powers:
Just as Gabriel is an alleged fashionista and does show skill at engineering social outrage and personal trauma. So too does Marinette have her own unique skills.
Off the cuff is her tailoring, so her Akuma likely have cool designs if she can influence such things. Same for her own transformed state.
Intelligence gathering/memorization, Marinette has been shown to be very good at collecting information & organizing it, so she'd likely utilize her butterflies as scouts to hunt intel and such.
Social skills, Marinette is affable, clever and eager to help, but not too much of a doormat, though a touch flighty and nervous at times.
In a word she is endearing.
This trait is important because I feel it would be interesting to explore a villain in the context of their social threat being rooted in "Good" skills.
IE in canon, Chloe & Lila are the "Bad" social villain's, with Chloe being aggressive and pushy & Lila feigning niceness but actually lying and being malicious.
But Marinette would be utilizing genuine offers of aid, skills at listening and comforting others, making them feel welcome and such, but to her own benefit.
Even turning them on key targets.
In this context, it could be a play on the theme nice does not equal good, and or Good is not necessarily nice.
Note: The Butterfly's empathy power turn her social skills up to eleven.
Idle Musings:
The rest of this is mostly stuff I think would be interesting or that could be worked in
Senti-Kids: Most other backstories would be largely the same insomuch as they stayed consistent up to a given point. The Senti-Kids plotline may be a thing, or at least is for Adrien and or Felix, but Kagami and the Bourgeoise's have nothing to do with it.
Gabriel & Emilie may have both used the Peacock, (Or Nathalie may have) and as a result neither are dead, but they are likely rather delicate. Or because there's less Senti kids its taking longer for Emilie to die.
Adrienette: Adrien would still be attending school for the first time. Here however he likely falls head over heels for Marinette. In part because her empathy powers mean she can gauge better how to act around him.
She likely starts to internalize Adrien as part of her happy ending & he likely accepts her as the Butterfly user & even helps, possibly to save his parents/parents, but also because love is blind.
A mid 'season' 1 peak or 'season 1 finale' would likely involve Adrien finding the spell book & Peacock but losing the former while revealing the latter to Marinette. That could be when he's brought in on things if he wasn't already.
This could well end tragically if he utilizes the broken Peacock and his demise could well send her spiraling into self destructive villainy.
Miraclass: Depending on how things shake out with her villainous reputation, VS her own backstory & personality. Plus other Miraculous, Marinette may be able to secure a few allies among her classmates.
This could range anywhere from Nino, Alya & Adrien all being in the known and assisting her because they care and the like.
Or it could be a more singular thing with just Adrien, but the other classmates don't regard "HK" as negatively as the rest of Paris.
I don't think she would or should get everyone on side, least of all openly, but there'd definitely be more wiggle room for genuine "Yes's'" when she makes contract, VS Hawk Moth's more forceful approach. At least early/midway on. Before things get too serious.
By the same token her actions may also inadvertently alienate some classmates.
Such as "We never had this problem before Alya showed up" or otherwise lead to different relationships, such as Alya & Marinette not being close given the reporters stance on heroes & villains.
Lots of wiggle room basically. Miraculous & their Wielders: I see several options depending on how the story would develop.
Akin to the movies some Miraculous (Not necessarily the Ladybug & Cat but not necessary not them either) are released and gravitate towards certain holders largely on luck and vibes. Heavily show dynamic based.
All the Miraculous were/are released possibly being why Marinette has the Butterfly, likely due to Fu's passing and as a result all have distinct holders with their own motives, some stick around, some don't after they are defeated or flee.
The Miraculous were lost entirely or mostly some time ago and have been largely inactive. Some are in Paris and when Nooroo raises their wings they too awaken. In this case some may already be in others possession, such as Kagami with Longg. Finding and claiming other lost Miraculous would be a major plot point, and potentially make several factions where enemies & allies is a bit more vaguely defined.
If I were writing I would go with my "12 Miraculous" list over the canon one, where they are divided into four eras:
Creation Ladybug - Creation & Good Fortune, Snake - Ouroboros & Entirety/Time, Cat - Destruction & Misfortune
Post Creation Tiger - Ignition & Havoc, Dragon - Storm & Power, Bee - Order & Subjugation
Early Life Horse - Action & Migration, Turtle - Protection & Resilience, Mouse - Multiplication & Duplication
Animal Eras Fox - Mirage & Materialization, Peacock - Emotion & Evocation, Butterfly - Transmissions & Transformation
If writing it myself, Chloe and Lila would probably both be major characters and get to be heroes given the role swap nature of the story. Though maybe with unexpected Miraculous. It'd be a certainty for Chloe, but more up in the air for Lila who could very well just not be a major player.
However beyond that I wouldn't feel strictly obliged to give anyone n class a Miraculous, and some who have them in canon might explicitly avoid them or otherwise end up with very different one's.
& that's about it for now.

In Chloleka AU how do you think Marinette and the rest of the class react to juleka getting close to chloe? On one hand chloe is acting less antagonistic, but on the other hand their history together isnt great, maybe marinette and others try to separate them and juleka responds very unlike her usual demeanor.
I also believe marinette would be more insisntent in the issue due to juleka beign a hero and seeing her getting close to chloe as compromising the team. What do you think?
I think, the way I had it progressing. It would come across as a 'wait this happened?' thing, since so much of it takes place out of sight of the public (That's a theme for the relationship and broadly in general. Introversion, things people don't see, etc.)
I like to try to put people in the best light I can in general, so I don't want the class to be *too* obnoxious about it. This isn't salt!
Rose is Happy for Juleka. Alix shrugs it off with a 'So weird'. Nathaniel's in his own little world. Mylene is the most conflicted in that she wants to believe the best, she enjoys that Chloe(who sits right in front of her) is less mean, but she also worries for Juleka- at least at first. Ivan will follow Mylene's lead. Sabrina doesn't know *exactly* how to feel. Maybe she's a touch jealous? but not in an overarching way so much as a 'wait... was this something I could have had?' way. Her main-friend has someone else in their life now, and that's going to take adjustment. Lila of course hates not having people to manipulate. Adrien's just genuinely happy for her. Nino is right there with Alix in a 'this is weird but hey, if it works' response. Alya, influenced by Marinette, will be suspicious. Alya believes in facts though, and will study and observe(and maybe snoop) before acting.
Marinette... we'll use her as a means to teach a lesson, that's her role in the show, right? She won't go after Chloe though, that would set Marinette up as too confrontational. Instead she'll go after Juleka, trying to convince her that Chloe is bad news, and that Juleka 'must be mistaken' etc. etc.
In short, Marinette will be working with Juleka's theme of 'not being seen' by ignoring Juleka's own words and opinions because Marinette 'knows she is right'. It could lead to an akumatization perhaps, it would fit the show's tempo. Then Marinette learns her lesson and decides to let it be, even if she is still in the 'so weird' camp.

Lukanette Idea
Kitty Section (& Mylene) Sugar
Marinette's Calender - It has the whole class not just Adrien he just has the most activities and takes up the most space - Gets used against her by Lila and Alya
Kitty Section offers The Liberty as a safe place to hide
They find out most of what Marinette knows (Minus being Ladybug obviously) And supports her through and emotional break down.
And then plans (On their own because Marinette deserves to be taken care of) How to take down Lila, Alya and Adrien, who is unsupportive despite knowing Lila is a liar
Also a JuleRose, Myvan, and Lukanette triple date sounds cute
Lukanette is my favorite pairing for Miraculous Ladybug, so I love the choice there! This got...a little out of hand, so I couldn't fit everything in there, but I hope you like it!
Marinette was genuinely forgetful, and incredibly busy.  The fact that she had a calendar with everyone’s events on it was a natural progression of that, since she would, actually, like to spend time with her friends on occasion.  Adrien’s activities taking up such a large portion of the calendar was just because he had a lot of activities!  But Alya…she’d taken a picture of it, and shared it with Lila, who in turn showed it to the rest of the class and twisted it into something creepy and stalkerish.
She was good at twisting things like that.  One day full of side-eye from everyone except Juleka, Rose, Mylene, and Ivan and snide comments about being a stalker and Marinette was ready to cry-or scream.  Fleeing to the park after school had been a thoughtless decision, brought about simply because she didn’t want to go home and have to look at that calendar quite yet.  She collapsed under a tree and couldn’t help the silent tears that spilled over.
She knew she had to calm down.  She knew.  But Marinette couldn’t stop replaying the day over and over in her head, seeing Lila’s smug little smirk and Alya’s self-righteous look.
“Ma-Ma-Marinette,” Luka’s low voice greeted her playfully before he caught a good look at her face.  “Hey.”  He sat down beside her and wrapped an arm around her shoulders, pulling her in for a hug.  “It’ll be ok,” he murmured to her.  “Whatever it is, I’ll make it ok.”
Marinette let out a wet laugh as she swiped at her cheeks half-heartedly.  “I don’t think it will be,” she told him tiredly.
“Come to the Liberty,” Luka offered.  “We’ll talk about it and make a plan.”
“You hate plans,” Marinette said, a small smile tugging at her lips.  Luka was definitely more a fly by the seat of his pants kind of guy.
“Yeah, but you don’t.”  Luka’s gentle look somehow ripped Marinette apart and put her together again at the same time.
Marinette should have expected the ambush at the Liberty, but she wasn’t even mad about it.  Juleka, Rose, Mylene, and Ivan dragging her (and Luka by way of proximity) into a group hug while telling her that they knew it wasn’t anything creepy was a balm to her battered emotion.  The brief explanation about what happened during class had Luka’s eyebrow raising incredulously.  “They’re stupid,” Juleka concluded darkly.
“I-you’re busy,” Luka said in disbelief.  “How exactly do they expect you to keep track of all of the events they have-that they ask you to make stuff for and don’t pay you for-without having it on a calendar or something?”
“Your guess is as good as mine,” Marinette murmured.  “But Lila’s a huge liar, so I’m not surprised she’s pulling something like this.”
“You’ve said that before,” Mylene said slowly, her voice soft and considering.  “What do you mean?”
Marinette hesitated for a moment, but told them all, “I don’t know if you know this, but I got Alya that first interview with Ladybug.”  Rose let out a soft noise of realization.  “So she and I have…a professional relationship, I guess.  So I know for a fact that Lila isn’t her ‘best friend’.  And Jagged Stone doesn’t have a kitten, he has Fang-his crocodile.”  She sighed.  “I just…I can’t stand liars.  Maybe I shouldn’t have been so harsh with her, but it just really bothers me.  And then this.”
“I asked Prince Ali about the charity she said she worked on with him,” Rose said after a moment.  “He said he didn’t know what I was talking about-Lila said it was very confidential, and that’s why he couldn’t say anything but…that didn’t make a lot of sense to me,” she admitted.  “I’m sorry Marinette, I should have stood up for you today!”
“No,” Marinette said immediately.  “No, I wouldn’t want you to do that.  It’s better that she’s just focused on me.”
Ivan was not someone who spoke often, but when he did it made an impact.  So when he told Marinette, “It’s not your responsibility to protect us-we care about you, and you deserve to be protected too,” she paused to let it sink in.
And then Marinette promptly burst into tears.

Ranking the Miracucast by how much Adrien: The Fragrance they own
Marinette: Do you even have to ask? She has gallons. 10/10
Alya: She has more than the average girl her age, but that's mostly because it was on sale and she felt like supporting Adrien in a way that was pretty easy. 5/10
Adrien: Yes. 10/10
Nino: Has gotten at least 1 bottle as a joke. Adrien was not amused. 1/10
Chloe: She has a significantly large amount of Adrien, and she says that she wears it all the time, but her collection isn't decreasing as much as she says it is. Sus. 8/10
Sabrina: Unlike Chloe, Sabrina actually likes this perfume. Main reason Chloe's collection is decreasing is because Sabrina uses it. 8/10 by proxy
Mylene: Had some, but then she learned about some of the stuff that Gabriel puts in his perfumes. Then she set all her bottles on fire. At once. In the classroom. They had to have a fire drill. Maybe it wasn't her smartest idea. But she was tired. 3/10
Ivan: Everyone assumed he was the one who set the fire, and he is doing nothing to dissuade them of that notion. 2/10
Rose: This girl knows her perfume. She sorts it alphabetically. She may or may not make her own, by performing unethical experiments on the perfumes she already owns. The Adrien is no exception, she has more types of it than legally exist on the market. 6/10
Juleka: Actually wears it quite a bit, since A) She kinda likes the smell, B) It's cheap, and C) Adrien uses it as proof that he is in fact endorsing her as a model. The only thing holding her career back is her self-confidence. You can do it Juleka! We believe in you! 7/10
Kim: hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha. 9/10
Max: Absolutely not. 0/10
Alix: She actually has a pretty sizable collection of the stuff in the Burrow. But none of it seems to be stuff that's currently on the market, it's all weird future versions of the stuff with odd scents, unreleased prototypes that put you at risk of setting it on fire if you use it, or bottles from alternate timelines that somehow survived whatever apocalypse was going on there. It's complicated. But since they're all weird versions of it, she has a nice excuse to not use it. Ever. Alix/10
Nathaniel: Bought a whole bunch and used it to create an art piece for Adrien's birthday. Adrien was extremely amused and gave the artwork a special spot in the corner of his room. It still smells like the fragrance (and bottles) used to make it, which is very good for disguising the scent of Plagg's camembert. 4/10
Lila: Is contractually forced to wear the stuff due to legal shenanigans. She hates it. She hates it so much. But if any of the Agreste Household realize that she isn't wearing it then things will get more ComplicatedTM for her so she just has to deal. 9/10
Luka: Borrows Juleka's sometimes. If it works, it works! The twins already share a lot of stuff anyway, she doesn't mind. Sometimes it leads to Luka getting weird looks from other people, but Luka has never really been one to care about that. 5/10
Kagami: Like Lila, she's basically contractually obligated to wear it. unlike Lila, she doesn't own a single bottle of the stuff. Neither Gabriel nor Tomoe care about it enough to force her, so she will take what she can get. 0/10
Marc: He adamantly refuses to disclose how much of the stuff he has, if any. It's probably one of the best-kept secrets in the entire school. I have no clue either, so I'm just going to give him the average score and you all can try and come up with your own guess. 5/10
Ondine: Kim once bought her some perfume in bulk as a gift (oh, THAT's why his own score was so high, I get it now) but unfortunately perfume is not really practical for a girl who spends a significant amount of her time swimming and showering. She appreciated the gift, though, and wears it when she feels like being fancy! 3/10
Aurore: She's an Adrien fangirl. 'Nuff said. 8/10
Felix: He hates this stuff with a burning passion. Everyone sees him and goes "hey aren't you that guy on the perfume ads?" and he despises it. He actively goes out of his way to tear down posters and deface advertisements, even going to such great lengths as to create sentimonsters with the explicit purpose of reducing sales of Adrien. Felix will do everything in his power to decrease the amount of this stuff in the world. -5/10
Zoe: She arrived after the craze was over and has no context for anything. So she also borrows from Chloe's stash on occasion, but she doesn't really much care for the smell. 4/10

Mirrorverse Crossover- What Happened Before…
Here’s a special from ya girl, Weeby! I figured we could use a little expansion on Sparky’s intro to the AU, and thanks so much to him for helping with this! Enjoy! @artzychic27 @imsparky2002
The heroes all stood, gathered around IsmaGenie as he prepared to grant Max’s wish, to see alternative versions of themselves from another world, like had happened to a hero of one of his comics. Whatever happened, it would surely be…interesting!
“Alright, is everyone ready?”, the blue-skinned genie asked, and at the nods from his companions, clapped his hands together, igniting a bright flash.
A portal suddenly opened up over the ceiling, and a certain wicked group of teens were dropped through it onto the floor, shouting and cursing at their painful landing.
“What the devil?!”, Mari DeVil shrieked, fretting as attempted to sort out her now ruffled fur coat.
“Again! AGAIN!”, MimRore squealed, clapping her hands and giggling maniacally as her friends gave her looks of annoyance.
“Where in the Sam Hill are we?”, Ivan Oogie groused, rubbing his head, which he had smacked on the floor as Mylensula fussed over him.
“Um, better question: Who in blazes are they?”, YzAlya piped up, pointing and drawing the other villains’ attention to the heroes, both groups just staring at each other.
“Why does that one dude have so much hair?”, Honest Nino whispered to IsmaScar, his eyes focused on Adripunzel, who was nervously messing with his long braid.
“Jeez, that one has to be like ten feet tall!”, Mireides muttered to her girlfriend, gawking at Demolition Denise.
“I feel the inexplicably strong urge to put a curse on that redhead.”, Juleficent said to QRC, her eyes narrowing as she looked at a nervous Sleeping Nath. The dark fae witch then yelped as her scepter was suddenly coated in ice beneath her fingers.
“Unless you want to have the worst case of frostbite you could even imagine experiencing, I’d suggest you leave Nathaniel alone.”, MarcElsa said darkly, summoning a barrage of icicles to his hand. A few of the villains nervously backed away.
“Looks like some of ‘em got a little magic of their own…”, Doctor Cabello mused.
“Marc, hold on.”, said Snow Mylene, gently placing a hand on her friend’s shoulder, “Let’s not jump to violence. What she said was out of line, yes, but they weren’t expecting to be brought here. Maybe they’re just a bit confused.”
This earned her a sneer of disgust from the sea witch, before IsmaGenie stepped up and explained the whole situation to the villains, the whole ‘Alternate-Universe-Counterparts’ thing. The villains looked the heroes over with varying degrees of disbelief and disgust. They were do-gooders in this world? How revolting!
“WAIT, WHAT IN THE HELL IS THAT THING?!”, Kimton suddenly shouted, pointing at Julebeast, and looking at her fur, horns and claws with utter revulsion.
“A person, asshole.”, the beastly princess snarled, showing off her sharp teeth as she glared at the hunter, who tried to appear as if he wasn’t intimidated. QuasiIvan stepped up and put a bracing hand on his best friend’s shoulder.
“Ignore him, Jules. He's obviously an idiot who doesn't think before he speaks.”, the bulky teen placated, pointedly ignoring the looks of disgust he was getting from King Marc and some of the other more vain villains.
“Who needs brains when you have guns like these?”, Kimton said smugly, flexing his arms with an arrogant grin. LeOnDine swooned, while the heroes could only watch in disbelief. This was the Kim of the other world?
“Gods, ego much?”, Kimules scoffed as he crossed his arms over his chest (without meaning to, showing off that they were respectively buffer and broader than his counterpart’s) with annoyance. But at that moment his attention was caught by his girlfriend, who seemed to be having some trouble breathing as she stared at a certain villain who was bringing back unpleasant memories from the recent past.
As the young demigod tried to help the mermaid calm down, it was then that her condition was noticed by the villains, who saw the opportunity to strike. Mylensula noticed it seemed to be her the princess was afraid of, and gained a particularly wicked grin.
“Oh, whatever’s the matter, little mermaid? You’ve hardly said a word. Speak up! I'm sure you have a lovely voice.”, the sea witch said in a taunting cadence, fingering the shell necklace draped over her collar, which was starting to glow…only to yelp when there was suddenly an arrow pointing at her face.
“Leave her be, witch.”, Kagamerida said darkly, her eyes like flint as she glared at Mylensula, until Ivan Oogie stepped protectively in front of her and glared, which failed to intimidate the diminutive-statured princess in the slightest.
“Alright.”, BluRore piped up, “Let’s try to keep some semblance of civility here. We’re young adults, there’s no need for this nonsense.”, earning nods from the heroes and scoffs from the villains.
Madame Sabrina sneered in disgust as she looked over the group of heroes, her eyes finally coming to rest on the heroic Ismael, who met her glare head on with a quirked eyebrow.
“Why does one of your friends look like an oversized smurf?”, the purple-clad redhead demanded, pointing a manicured nail at the young genie.
“Why does one of your friends look like the lovechild of a burlap sack and the Pilsbury Doughboy?”, Aladdix sniped right back, leaving the villains agape, one in particular.
“WHY YOU LITTLE-”, Ivan Oogie started to shout, only for Mylensula to jump in and comfort him.
“Don’t listen to her, Spookyboo. You’re the most terrifyingly attractive man in the world in my eyes, and you always will be.”, she cooed, and much to the heroes’ discomfort and the villains’ resigned annoyance, the two began making out.
“Okay…can we PLEASE just try to have a normal, non-confrontational conversation here?”, BluRore said in exasperation, placing her head in her hands.
“And just what makes you think you can tell us what to do, Pixie Prick?”, Alix Khan snarled, stalking towards the fairy. Only to be stopped in her tracks by Miremba stepping in front of her girlfriend.
“Back off, runt.”, the royal lioness growled, and the two bared their teeth at each other.
“Alright, that’s just about enough!”, TiAlya called out, “Now, I’ll tell y’all what’s gonna happen. There ain’t gonna be any more insults, or any more fightin’. We’ll take it slow, one at a time, and we’ll sit down and get to know each other! Now, doesn’t that sound nice?”, she spoke in her “Mom Tone” which left no room for argument.
“And what if we refuse?”, Nath of Hearts snarled, reaching for his dagger, only to yelp when an arrow pierced the wall just to the side of his head, “Understood.”
“Alright…let’s get started! Who wants to go first?”, Fairy GodBro said with a nervous smile.
And there you have it! Leave your thoughts in the comments and reblogs!

Luka'd never had a sleepover before. It wasn't because he didn't want to, but he didn't know a lot about them. His mother told him once that it was fine to not know things - he was still a little kid, after all - but what bothered him was that his sister had started going on them. They might've been twins but, from what he understood, he was the older twin, which meant that he was supposed to know more so he could help her whenever she needed it.
In his mind, he was not doing a very good job.
He'd heard the word "sleepover" a few times, but in different ways. It was confusing hearing about his sister Juleka going to a "sleepover" but also that she would "sleep over" at someone else's house. Luka didn't know if there was a difference or if both ways of saying it were linked somehow.
Furthermore, Juleka was "having a sleepover" at their houseboat this time. Just when Luka thought he'd grasped that a sleepover must've involved being in someone else's home, he was proven wrong. Wouldn't that mean that they were having sleepovers every night with each other? They slept in the same room and everything too, but apparently that wasn't the same.
He resolved to get to the bottom of it, or else he could ruin his sister's sleepover by accident.
——
Luka knew most of Juleka's friends. Rose had been over the most out of all of them, but supposedly her sleeping in Juleka's bed when she happened to stay too late still wasn't a sleepover. As for Alya, he'd seen her a few times when she would sneak away from her parents to board the houseboat and show them her drawing of "something cool that happened." Mylene and Alix he'd heard about more than seen, but he could easily recognize them by their dyed hair.
There was only one girl who'd be new, named Marinette. Juleka explained in a whisper to him that it was because she was her group's "secret friend," so they had to be careful about interacting with her because of some girl named Chloe. Luka didn't get it, but he still wanted to make a good first impression on her. He'd even worn his best distressed pants for the occasion.
From what he could gather, the girls had been taking turns going to each other's houses for sleepovers, and the houseboat just happened to be last in their order to try. The girls would spend their time above deck near all the plants and the table was low enough that they could sit around it comfortably or put things on it. That wasn't even talking about the view of the sky at night.
When the time came, Juleka left Luka by himself as she went to the upper deck to greet the other girls whenever they arrived. He'd offered to play "opening music" for each of them as they came aboard - he'd been practicing! - but she rejected the idea. Maybe he wasn't allowed to take part at all then?
Luka laid atop his bed on his stomach, troubled by it. He wanted to be a good brother by ensuring that he was well-liked by his sister's friends, but he couldn't do anything if he couldn't participate. He pouted as he reached for one of the soft, squishy stuffed animals he had near his pillow, squeezing it repeatedly to listen to the squeaky noise it made. It always helped calm him when he was lost in his own head.
He supposed it was possible that he wasn't allowed because he was a boy, but he didn't think that was fair. Alix was more like a typical boy than he was, and he'd been mistaken for a girl a few times due to having not gotten his hair cut in a while.
At the thought, Luka exhaled upwards, blowing at his bangs that were blocking some of his vision. He couldn't play music, he couldn't greet them, and apparently, he wasn't allowed to participate either. He was in good enough graces with most of Juleka's friends, but what if the new girl thought he was a bad brother who didn't care about his sister?
He could not let that happen.
Climbing down from his bed, Luka headed out into the lounge room. He could always get them drinks from the fridge and leave them near the cabin area so they wouldn't see him. That way, he wasn't interfering in anything but he was still being helpful.
Being as short as he was, Luka couldn't even see over the high top, but that didn't mean he couldn't carry what he needed to; he'd just have to find a tray first and balance them properly. Determined, he walked around the high top to get to the fridge when—
"Oh."
"Oh!"
Luka blinked, surprised to find himself face-to-face with one of Juleka's friends. Given her appearance - big blue eyes and black hair tied up into tiny pigtails with pink beaded hair bands - she could only be Marinette. He hadn't been prepared either, so he didn't know what to say.
Luckily, Marinette spoke first, bowing to him and blurting out, "S-sorry!"
He tilted his head. "Sorry?"
"Mm!" She looked up, nodding her head at him. "I'm in the way!"
He glanced behind her. Technically, she was in between him and the fridge, but, "You were here first."
"B-but you're Luka?"
He nodded. "So?"
"Juleka's older, so that means you're older!" She held her fists up in front of her chest, insisting, "I-I have to respect my olders!"
He looked away in thought, wondering if that was something common to teach kids.. His mother had taught him how to treat people bigger than him, but only if he needed to throw them overboard.
At his continued confusion, Marinette faltered, her hands going up to cup her cheeks in worry. "U-um, maybe it was elders?"
"It's okay." He didn't really care either way what it was. "My mom says people have to earn that first."
"Earn it?" She pursed her lips, mulling that over. "How do you do that?"
He shrugged, though the topic reminded him of his original task. He looked over her shoulder to the fridge, wondering aloud, "What did you wanna get?"
She whimpered, shoulders slumping. "I-I dunno. Juleka said there was juice, but Maman told me that sweet stuff is bad for sleeping."
Luka, unphased by the comment, walked around her to get to the fridge. He opened it slowly, allowing Marinette time to step out of the way, then reached inside to grab one of the bottles of juice inside. Offering it to her, he asked, "Do you like this one?"
Her mouth formed a tiny 'o' like she'd expected him to have been getting juice for himself, but her hands still raised to take it. She hesitated at first, fingers twitching before she gave in and took it from him. "Y-yeah. How'd you pick it?"
"It's pink," he explained as he closed the fridge, "like you."
"Oh." She giggled, staring down at the bottle but still not opening it. She tossed and turned it in her hand, Luka suspecting that she was still worried about the sugar in it.
"You can tell your mom that I gave it to you if you sleep bad," he assured.
"But won't you get in trouble?"
"No I won't. Not with my mom."
After another second of hesitation, Marinette finally relented and unscrewed the cap, taking a big swig of the drink. A loud and happy "pah!" followed, so he knew she must've enjoyed it. "Thanks. Sleepovers are hard."
Luka perked up at that, seeing an opportunity present itself directly to him. "What about 'em?"
"Mm..." She put the cap back onto the bottle, turning it but not with any real intent to seal it. "A lotta things? I had to try real hard when they came to my house. We've gotta figure out whose house is the best for sleepovers."
So sleepovers were competitive? Luka never took his sister for the type. "Like a game?"
"...Kinda?" She looked like she hadn't thought about it before. "But there aren't really any rules."
His mom must like them then.
Marinette continued, "You go to somebody's house, or they go to yours, and then you...you do stuff? Then you sleep on the floor."
He tilted his head. "On... the floor?"
"Erm." She pouted, frustrated that she couldn't get her thought across well enough. "You sleep on soft stuff, but it's on the floor? You can sleep on a bed too but I don't. It's not fair 'cause there's not enough beds for everybody."
Luka nodded, absorbing all of this. He finally felt like he was getting a grasp of things.
Catching on, she frowned at him, guessing, "You never had a sleepover before?"
He opened his mouth, but stopped short of answering her. Would it be bad to admit that he didn't know anything? What if she thought he wasn't "cool" because he's never had a sleepover with a friend?
But then his mother briefly flashed in his head, talking about the way of a Couffaine. She'd always encouraged him to be himself without any apology and, if he lied even about the little things, then he wouldn't be able to tell Juleka that he got Marinette to like him; it would just be a fake him.
"...No," he answered truthfully. "Never."
"Aw." She pouted. She took another sip of her drink before adding, "Um, you're not missing much?"
He couldn't tell if she was just trying to make him feel better or not, but he remembered her comment on sleepovers. "'Cause they're hard?"
She nodded. "Like, I'm—um—bad at sleeping next to the girls."
He tilted his head, trying to imagine how sleeping could be hard.
Marinette let out a small whine, then began to walk past him. She paused, like something occurred to her, then turned and opened the fridge. Luka watched as she pulled out a blue bottle of juice and offered it to him.
"It's blue, like you," she said, giving the bottle a little shake to encourage him to take it.
He smiled, accepting it, then followed her over to sit in the middle of the room. While he unscrewed the cap of his juice bottle, she screwed hers back on.
"Maman and Papa had t'put stuff around my bed so I don't fall off, 'cause I do this." She put the bottle sideways, set it on the ground, then gave it a push with her arms stretched fully out. It rolled across the floor, eventually bumping up against the table. "I roll in my sleep."
Luka could see how that'd be a problem. He imagined her - even as tiny as she was - rolling off and bumping into the other girls, or knocking into walls and causing a loud noise. Either way, she'd wake at least one of the others up.
Ashamed, Marinette retrieved the bottle and opened it again, taking a frustrated sip. "Maman says I've got too much energy even when I sleep. I thought energy was good?"
He nodded, agreeing with her. He took a gulp of his own drink, enjoying the refreshing, cool taste of blueberries going down his throat, then admitted. "I sleep weird too."
It was only fair, he figured, and maybe it was just because she was Juleka's friend, but he felt like he could trust her.
She gasped. "Really? How?"
He stared down at the bottle in his hand, then held it up to her. It was a little hard, but he squeezed with both hands for emphasis. "I gotta hold stuff in my sleep."
She leaned forward, supporting herself with the hand not holding her drink. She observed his bottle of juice like it was suddenly fascinating to her. "Do y'know why?"
He shook his head. "No, but Mom thinks it's 'cause of Jule. She said we shared a bed when we were babies." He pulled the bottle to his chest as an example. "So we did this."
"Ohhhh." Marinette copied him, hugging her bottle to her chest and squeezing. "But Juleka doesn't do it in her sleep?"
"Yeah. Just me. Mom got me stuffed animals to hold."
He wasn't sure how to make it stop either. If his mom was right, then he must've always been the one holding onto his sister rather than the other way around, or maybe Juleka simply grew out of it faster than he did. He liked the idea of being useful, even beyond Juleka, but at the same time he didn't have many friends. His mom brushed it off, insisting that it was because he was "expressing himself" earlier than most kids, and girls tended to be more into painting their nails and dying their hair at earlier ages, but what if she was wrong?
The thought made him feel bad. What if Juleka was having sleepovers to get away from him because he was trying to help too much? Maybe it wasn't his job as a big brother after all to make her friends like him, or make her sleepovers fun. He just had to leave her be.
Averting his gaze, Luka said pleadingly, "...Don't tell her." Juleka didn't know anything about it and he'd prefer to keep it that way.
"I-I won't!" Marinette assured, waving a hand reassuringly. "It'll be our secret! Um—here!"
He could see her setting her bottle down from the corner of his vision, but the loud noise of her hands colliding together was what fully brought his attention back to her. She looked as if she'd caught something in the air between them, but he was sure there hadn't been anything.
Keeping one fist closed, she brought her other hand down, making a motion like she was opening a box. She put her fist "inside," then opened her fingers again to drop the invisible object into it.
"What are you doing?"
"It's our secret." She used both hands to shut the "box" tightly, even seeming to lock it with a "key." That done, she picked it up, walked on her knees to get closer to the couch, then slid it under the couch. "Now no one can find it."
He considered that. It was a good idea and he even wanted to ask her how to make a box like that, but he also recalled a few times when something had rolled under the couch. "She might feel it if she's looking for something."
"She still can't open it! We have the key." She presented him with the invisible object. "As long as we don't lose it, we're okay!"
He stared, spotting the exact moment that she realized the same problem: that they could still lose it. He put a hand to his cheek, pinching and squishing it in thought.
"Mmm, maybe I'll just drink it?" Marinette offered. She came back to him, legs crossed as she held her hand over her bottle. "I saw it in a movie."
"No!" Luka reached out, snagging her wrist before she could do anything. "I'll do it."
"But—"
"You made the box. I'll drink the key. It's fair."
She pouted, eyes flicking from him to her closed hand, but she relented to the demand. She reached for his bottle instead, Luka holding the cap off of it so she could drop the key inside. When he bravely took a sip, it tasted like security.
Blueberries too, but mostly security.
"That makes sense," Marinette said suddenly, more to herself than him.
"What?" Luka asked, curious. She must've been lost in her own thoughts, but he wanted in.
"What you said about sleeping. You were doing this—" She grasped at the front of her shirt. "—when we talked."
He tried to summon memories of such a thing, but he couldn't. Had she been watching him so closely that she noticed something he didn't even notice about himself? "Really?"
"Mhm." She put her drink aside to crawl close to him, her two hands patting somewhere between his chest and stomach. "Right here. It's all wrinkly."
His gaze dropped to confirm. He hadn't cared to think about it before, but there were creases in his shirt like he'd been fidgeting with it, just like she said. He must've been grabbing at it without even thinking.
Sympathetic, Marinette tried to comfort him. "I don't think it's bad. I have stuffed animals too 'cause I like ones that all feel different." She flexed her fingers as if squishing an invisible toy. "I think it looks cool on you too."
"Cool?"
"Yeah!" She seemed genuine about it. "Like how your pants are all torn up. It's cool!"
The notion that his choice of pants had paid off made him feel confident again, the feeling in his chest lightening. "Thanks."
"Hehe~" She giggled, though she blushed pink like her drink as she admitted, "I got some that look like that, but they don't come that way. I just fall a lot."
At the mental image, he winced. "Ow."
"I'm used to it!" She didn't sound like she meant it, even if it was with a lot of energy. "And maybe one day, I'll be invinc-ah-ble!" She gestured outwards, waving her arms enthusiastically. "Then I'll never get hurt again!"
That would definitely be impressive, though the idea of her getting hurt over and over didn't sit well with him.
He opened his mouth to voice as much, but was interrupted by a knock on the door leading to the upper deck. A voice - one of the girls's - called out, "Marineeette?"
Luka slapped his hands over his mouth, dropping his bottle of juice in the process. It landed on the floor, still sturdy enough to stay standing, but he ignored it in favor of hiding under the nearby table. He wasn't supposed to partake in the sleepover, after all, and didn't want to be caught fraternizing with one of its members.
"I-I'm coming!" Marinette called back. "I was—uh—picking out the best juice!"
He waited, finding himself a little sad that she'd have to go, but a soft sound next to him made him turn. She was hovering beside him, having set his bottle down next to him. She then put a hand to the side of her mouth, whispering, "We should have a sleepover too. We can be bad at sleeping together."
The voice called out again, "Marineeette!"
"Ah—I said I'm coming!" Marinette shot up, hitting her head off the table but not even looking phased by it. Luka thought it was pretty cool how she shook it off, even remembering to take her juice with her to the door.
He heard the sound of the door opening, followed by a conversation about where Marinette kept her crayons that was slowly becoming harder and harder to hear, then Luka was left alone once again.
This time, he caught himself gripping his own shirt, replaying her words in his head. She wants to have a sleepover with me?
——
Time passed, Luka spending said time finishing his juice, kicking his feet in the air, and listening to music on his earbuds. The music was loud, but that didn't stop him from hearing the multiple footsteps slowly making their way below deck.
Thinking fast, he took off his earbuds and threw them aside, reaching off of his bed for his little guitar. Facing the window opposite of where the girls had planned to sleep - beyond the divider across from his and Juleka's room - he pulled the guitar against himself to feign being busy.
...Huh, he thought, briefly thrown off of his adrenaline rush by a realization. The guitar was his favorite instrument among the ones he'd tried and, going along with Marinette's observation, perhaps he simply liked the combination of holding things against him and having something to do with his hands?
Time to reflect on that had to come later though, as the girls slowly poured into the room. Luka made a point to seem like he was too focused tuning his guitar to listen, but he could still hear bits of conversation. He also heard the sound of the divider being pulled back and things being laid out on the floor. He guessed that everyone was getting ready to sleep.
"Who's sleeping next to Marinette?" Alya asked.
Immediately, a chorus of, "Not it!" followed. He counted five different voices, meaning all of them excluding Marinette herself.
"Someone's gotta," Mylene said pointedly.
Alix huffed, protesting, "I'm not getting hit again."
"I-it was an accident!" Marinette insisted desperately.
Rose whined, not liking the conflict, but argued, "I-I want to be next to Juleka."
Juleka didn't respond with words, but gave an affirmative hum directed at Rose.
Luka's fingers twitched on his guitar as the girls continued debating the matter. He wasn't sure how Marinette felt, but he personally was never crazy about getting the spotlight put on him. Even though he knew he should stay out of things and that she was Juleka's friend (not his), he didn't want to leave her alone.
Then, Marinette's words replayed in his head: "We should have a sleepover too. We can be bad at sleeping together."
Before he knew it, his guitar was off his lap and he'd hopped off his bed, crossing the room to reach the divider. Going back to where the girls were gathered, he blurted out, "I'll do it."
Instantly, all eyes were on him. It was a little uncomfortable, but he stood still, not willing to take back the offer.
"But you're a boy," Alix stated, as if he didn't know that.
Alya looked awkward, glancing off to the side as she tried to explain, "It's just s'posed to be girls, so..."
Rose, having squished herself against Juleka's side, peeked back and forth between Luka and Juleka. Tapping her chin in thought, she suggested, "What if we make Luka a girl for tonight?"
Everyone's gaze turned to her for an explanation. Rose grabbed Juleka's arm, pointing to both twins as she added, "Luka is Juleka's twin, so it's like he's part-girl."
Mylene crossed her arms, head slanted to meet one of her shoulders. "Like an honah—honor—"
Alya interrupted while pointing at her, "Honorary?"
"Yeah!"
She looked proud of herself. "I heard it on the news when my mom was watching one time."
The girls, barring Marinette who could only stare at Luka in surprise, all nodded in agreement over the topic. It was undoubtedly a technicality - not that Luka knew what that meant anyway - but he wasn't going to complain.
Things were moved around to accommodate having one more "girl" in the sleepover, the lights were turned out save for the nightlights, and that was that. By the end, Luka and Marinette were sitting next to each other while the other girls were all in their own (or each other's, if it was Rose and Juleka specifically) spaces. The others also fell asleep first, probably because they didn't have any sugary juices before bed.
"Why'd you do that?" Marinette asked in a hushed whisper, careful not to wake the others.
Luka responded in an equally quiet voice, "You said we could sleep bad together."
The reminder made her eyes light up, a smile brought to her face. "Yeah, I did~"
He smiled back, satisfied, then went to stand up. "I'll go get my stuffed animal."
"W-wait!" She snagged his arm, frowning in concern. Urgently, she said, "You'll wake 'em up!"
He looked around at the sleeping girls, then to the divider. One of the others must've closed it, and it would probably make a creaking sound if he went to open it. He'd offered to sleep next to Marinette so impulsively that he hadn't planned this far ahead.
Worried, he sat back down, wondering what he could do to occupy his hands. He looked down at his shirt, making the creases worse as he tugged and twisted the fabric.
"Uhm..." Marinette's tiny hand fell upon his as she spoke. "Could I be your stuffed animal then?"
Luka blinked at her, wide-eyed. "Really?"
"Mhm!" She took his hands, dropping them both onto her shoulders. "You can just hold onto me!"
It was hard to argue with that logic. She was the one offering and he already knew that he liked having something against him. Besides, it wasn't like it was any different from what Rose and Juleka were doing. "...Okay."
Luka's sleeping situation had been rushed using some thick blankets since they hadn't had anything prepared for him, but he didn't need it to lay down on anymore. He and Marinette made do with what she had, squeezing close together and only using the thick blankets as extra coverage. She wiggled at the extra texture the blankets provided, covering her mouth to suppress her excited giggles.
He didn't have any particular feelings about how the blanket felt, but it was nice and warm. Marinette even snuggled against him and allowed him to wrap his arms completely around her body, all the while smelling like strawberries.
"Comfy?" he asked.
"Yeah." She stared up at him. "Are you okay?"
He blinked confusedly at her.
"The key!" she whispered urgently, placing a hand on his stomach. "You drank it. Don't you have a tummyache?"
He shook his head. There was a faint fluttery feeling in his chest, but it wasn't painful.
She didn't believe him at first, but dropped it when she didn't feel any bad rumbling against her hand. That seemed to be enough for her to be convinced.
"...Wha'bout your hair?" she asked, the tiredness slowing her voice a bit.
"Mm?"
Instead of answering immediately, two hands came up to play with his bangs. His hair left his vision, leaving him to stare only at her as she said, "Long bangs're bad. They hurt your eyes when y'wake up."
He must've been getting tired too, because one moment there were pink hair clips in her bangs and the next they were being put in his. It felt a little strange, but she was right that his hair could get in his eyes if he weren't careful, and she seemed happy enough with it. He couldn't even bring himself to ask if they were important to her, not when she'd so insistently given them to him.
A part of him hoped that she might not ask for them back. It'd be like having a souvenir from his first ever sleepover.
Eventually and inevitably, the sugar wore off entirely. Luka found it even harder to keep his eyes open, his arms only awake enough to tug Marinette closer. She went along with it, too tired to say anything but her hum telling him that she was content with being held.
Feeling safe and reassured, they drifted off to sleep together.
——
Luka stirred when he felt that something was off. He was still warm and unwilling to move, but the feeling wouldn't stop bothering him.
Forcing himself to open his eyes, he looked up. It took a few blinks for his vision to focus, but eventually he noticed that the girls were hovering over him, all staring with varying degrees of surprise.
At his confused expression, Alya spoke up. "How'd you do that?"
"Mgh, d'what?"
A tiny whine took his attention toward the source of their surprise. He looked down, strawberry-scented black hair tickling his chin and a hand gripping his shirt tightly.
It was Marinette. She hadn't left his side nor rolled away all night. His arms were even in the same place they were before they'd fallen asleep, and he couldn't recall a single instance of accidentally "being hit" and getting woken up in the process.
He'd kept her content, and she did the same for him.
It took Luka a second to remember that they were still being watched. He squinted up against the light from the sunrise through the window - definitely still too early - then took one arm off of Marinette to grab at the blanket on them. It was the only thing that'd shifted during their sleep.
"S'not over," he grumbled.
"What?" one of the girls asked; he stopped paying attention at this point.
"Sleepover," he replied groggily, making sure that Marinette's shoulder was properly covered by the blanket. "Still sleeping."
He didn't need to be an expert to know that a sleepover wasn't over until the sleep itself was over. Fully confident in that, he shut his eyes again and slipped his arm back under the covers so he could continue cuddling her.
Luka'd never had a sleepover before that night, but now he wanted to have more.

You know what - Marinette should do what Gabriel asked and make sure Adrien only remembers “the good times” he had with his father. It’s only fair she honor the poor man’s last wish after everything he went through
And I want her to continue honoring them, as she and Adrien throw out all of Gabriel’s things from the manor - commissioned paintings, his suits, that godawful desk, everything.
I want her to do this as Adrien renames the company and does a complete rebrand of it. He has slides installed in the new break room and a moviehall and gives everyone full benefits. The employees love it.
I want her to do this as the alliance rings get destroyed and the materials recycled into other items like cars or computers.
I want her to do this as she takes down Lila/Chrysalis and finally frees Nooroo from this seemingly endless cycle of his holders being complete psychopaths. When he’s ready, she lets him pick his own holder (The choice of Chloe is...shocking to say the least, but they did say he could chose, and she’s been doing pretty well with the therapist her new foster family set up for her)
I want her to do this when Fei comes to visit and when they finish, Master Wu gets a statue honoring his death, and his school reopened to the public
I want her to do this as she and Adrien finally reveal their identities to each other and laugh themselves to tears over never figuring it out for so long.
I want her to do this when she finally discovers a way to sever Adrien, Kagami, and Felix from their amoks and let them obtain true freedom.
I want her to do this as they each walk down the aisle during their wedding, thanking all the people that brought them this far. (Adrien was hesitant to invite Nathalie after cutting contact for so long, even with his mother assuring him, but he decided enough time had past for letting old wounds linger)
I want her to do this as she breaks down in tears at Alya’s wedding, while Adrien congratulates his bro for finding his other half. They all laugh at the joke Nino makes at their toast about how grateful he is that the girl he almost dated locked him in a cage with his future wife.
I want her to do this at Kitty Section’s after party celebrating another success tour. Juleka proposes to Rose, Mylene announces her pregnancy, and they all congratulate Luka on his new solo album. (Jagged is there, but he makes his visit brief. He knows that this day isn’t about him)
I want her to do this when Felix finally officially changes his name to Graham De Vanily and rebrand his father’s old company, taking a page out of his cousin’s book (he doesn’t install any slides in the break room, much to Adrien’s disappointment)
I want her to do this at Kagami’s press-conference as she announces the new direction Tsurugi Tech plans on heading towards after the merger with her husband’s company. (She doesn’t even bother extending an invite to Tomoe. The pleabargin she made allowed her to remain on the board of directors but the position’s held in name-only mostly)
I want her to do this at their next class reunion, where they celebrate Kim’s recent gold medal and him finally realizing Ondine was proposing the last 4 months, and Bustier cries big wet tears at the bouquet they give her thanking her for the years of guidance.
I want her to do this at their anniversary, as their friends joke about how long it took them to get this far and congratulate her on her new fashion line and Adrien on the children’s charity he’s setting up with Mylene and Prince Ali’s help
I want her to do this when Alix returns to the timeline and she’s yelling herself horse because no I don’t care how cool you think it is, you can’t bring a T-Rex into Paris Alix did you learn nothing from Jurassic Park?! (She lets her keep the T-Rex. Max and Markov help create a nice little enrichment center for it)
I want her to do this when Marc and Nathaniel’s old comic receives an award and despite knowing how stupid it is, they all get wasted celebrating and end up hung over.
I want her to do this when Lila gets out of her court-mandated therapy and comes to her with an actual, sincere apology - oh and also the Kwami of Null (Don’t worry, they got therapy too. It was very helpful)
I want her to do this as Zoe finally gets her first acting award and calls her fiance up on stage to celebrate. She thanks the entire film crew and her directors, and her friends for encouraging her choice to continue acting even after everything that happened.
I want her to do this as Chloe celebrates her new job and tries to make a huge speech, only to have to toss the whole thing out because Zoe and Nooroo kept crying and interrupting her. Sabrina jokes it was a “very Chloe-like” speech and deserving of a toast. (Neither make reference to their parents at their individual events. Chloe cut contact with Audrey ages ago and Zoe refused to speak to Andre after he missed her graduation getting caught money laundering with one of his films, and only talks to her own father when unavoidable. Besides, these are their accomplishments to celebrate).
I want her to do this after the birth of her first child, and she and Adrien argue that yes, that is the middle name we want to give them. (Marinette asks again if this is what Adrien wants, and he says yes - because that name should be given to someone who will leave it a much kinder and better legacy)
I want her to do this during their 15th anniversary heroes day celebration, where she and everyone thank the city for their support and bravery during all the ups and downs they faced, and promises to never stop being their heroine.
I want her to do this at Fu’s funeral, where she thanks him for all the guidance he tried to give her, and apologizes for not keeping in touch more (Him and Marianne never officially wed, but they are buried next to each other with matching inscriptions. Su Han comes to pay his respects, and is surprisingly broken up over it, muttering about how he won’t miss “old chicken legs” while clearly crying)
I want her to do this when she brings her kids over to the bakery and Tom is more than eager to teach them proper kneading techniques so they can “properly inherit the store” while Sabine rolls her eyes.
I want her to do this when, while out with her oldest, Gabriel drags his boney ghost hide out from hell (because lets be honest, ain’t no way Gabriel earned a ticket to the pearly gates with his rapsheet) to scream at her because “What have you done? This isn’t what I asked for!”
I want her to do this when she replies “What ever do you mean? I did exactly what you ask.”
I want her to do this as he cries “You haven’t! Adrien was supposed to remember what a good father I tried to be! You were supposed to make sure that after the wish, he would only think of me as a hero - but instead, he’s completely forgotten about me, as has the rest of the city!”
I want her to do this as she look at him, eyes cold, and says “Right after you finished with your wish, I found Adrien as Ladybug. I told him about how I fought Monarch, and how I saw his father die after the battle. When he cried and asked what he should do now that his father was dead, I told him that he should try and remember all the good and fond memories you two had together.”
And I want her to pause, letting him stew in his rage before looking him straight in the eyes and saying “And when he did, we both realized there was nothing to remember. The reason Adrien’s “forgotten” you is because even in this new world you built, you still prioritized your own selfish wants over your own child, and failed to leave a single good memory for him. If you son doesn’t try to think about what a “good father” you were, then that’s your own fault. ”
I want her to lean in real close, unblinking, as she tells him - “After all, You can’t remember something if it doesn’t exist .”
I want her to step back and watch him seethe, completely unbothered as she gives him a polite smile “But don’t worry Gabriel - unlike you, I am a bug of my word. I’ll make sure Adrien continues to “remember” the good and kind man you were, just like you wanted.” and beam as her eyes sparkle with determination “And not just him - our children, and their children, and their children, and everyone afterward, they’ll only “remember” what a kind person Monsieur Agreste tried to be. Not a single person in the city - nay, the entire world, will ever even bother to think about the horrible villain you became in your last moments, because they’ll be too busy trying to remember when was the last time you tried being an actual human being.”
I want her to tell him goodbye and call for an exorcist to properly send him back to the underworld (One of the friends Fei made during her travels was visiting if she recalls. Apparently, they’re used to dealing with the undead on the regular) as he rages, trying to bargain and manipulate her again. I want her to watch happily as he’s banished back down below and tells him to call in advance next time he wants to make a surprise visit. I want her to take her child back home and call Adrien, telling him that she’s feeling like pizza tonight.
I want her child (Emma Gabriel Dupain-Cheng) to look up at her and ask who that strange transparent man she was talking to earlier was.
I want her to look down on her with a smile and say “No one worth remembering dear.”
And I want none of them to ever forget this.
