i love when everyone gets all starry eyed when i say where i live like i dont hate it with every fiber of my being. "[redacted name of large city in the US]? really?" no girl you mean Unfortunately

#i think a lot of people idealize or honestly even enjoy living in huge metropolitan areas but i would rather lose a finger #genuinely. lop my pinkie off if it means i can leave and not be stuck here indefinitely #like my tradeoff is attempting to survive one of the highest COL areas in the entire US when my pay was NOT adjusted for that for a shit apt #or moving out to a slightly more tolerable area and having my partner my almost husband be gone for quite literally 11-12 hr a day #due to office hours & commute #like how is this anyone's ideal. how does anyone want to do this.#is this truly optimized society? the trade between paying hundreds. hundreds! for parking in cramped apts where you cant afford to leave #or never seeing each other #are you kidding me #of all of the things on my adult bingo card living in redacted wasn't one #this is one of the circles of hell
