i have many gripes w ace attorney but smth that i do truly love abt it is how it uses absurdity to illustrate important concepts... ❤️ which is why i love aa4, bc the absurdity is still present, but a shade of it has been removed and its edging uncomfortably close to reality, with a criminal that is so so close to getting away bc there is no legal evidence that can convict them like. ough

#and also like er the disparity (probably not the right word) between the defendant and actual culprits #like kristoph is an influential attorney and vera is an agoraphobic kid #daryan is a police detective and machi is a foreign disabled minor #alita doesnt rly fit here but wocky is a son of a gang leader #like easy people for those w power and influence to pin the blame on yknow #and how the case of magnifis suicide is genuinely like.. incidents can happen with no guilty parties #but suspects lives will be ruined simply bc of assumed guilt #like this game is Dark but still absurd and silly but still dark in an aa sense #the fucking like...#when aa is ridiculous its something to laugh at; but when this ridiculousness resembles reality then u begin to feel uncomfortable
