#tw for the school shooting stuff that's been going on#i haven't been looking at twitter a whole lot lately bc the uvalde stuff is really hard#but i just saw some posts that really hit home about it#my friends little sister who is barely out of first grade went to a protest today#like jfc she's SEVEN she shouldn't have to worry about being fucking shot at school#and i saw a quote in an article from a local elementary teacher talking about it and shit#local meaning she literally teaches at a school less than two blocks from my house and one i could potentially teach at myself#throughout high school i was worried about shootings esp after santa fe#the day that happened i went to school knowing there was an active shooter at another school close to me an i was terrified the whole day#like getting spooked everytime a door slammed or a kid ran down the hall#and after the shit lately and seeing what that teacher said it is just really making me think about how in a few years#i'm going to be an elementary teacher#and dealing with the knowledge that i will be that elementary teacher in the article who talked about protecting her students#from a fucking shooter#protecting her little elementary students#what the fuck#god
