I just realized that a couple of Protocol episodes have warnings for common misophonia triggers in the descriptions. I've had miso for 13 years and I don't think I've ever seen anyone do that. That's really kind of the creators, I'm touched.

#the magnus protocol #misophonia #want to know a weird aspect of having a rare/understudied disease?#you get so accustomed to being unknown that when someone does recognize your condition it provokes a genuine emotional response #like ive been following the works of prominent miso researchers for over a decade #and still get hit with a pang gratitude with every publication #because it means that people like me are not invisible and we are worth the effort and funding to try and help #the tmp miso warnings feel a bit like that #somebody is going out of their way to make our lives just a little bit easier #which means they 1. know we exist 2. believe us and 3. consider us worth the effort to do so #which is not something im used to after 13 years of having to constantly explain the condition to people who have never heard of it #and try and persuade them that not hurting me is worth the inconvenience #its fucking exhausting #so im touched whenever theres a situation where i dont have to do that
