Just realized reading the piggyback script that the Jonathan and Nancy scene at the cabin, with them covering the window with the wood, parallels to the Steve and Nancy scene at the end of s2 where they’re hanging up the blanket to make the shed look indiscernible for possessed Will… both conversations involve her saying she was impressed with them caring for the kids… and both give the vibe that they’re not exactly not not together with it sort of being up in the air 👀

I truly believe the greatest music moments in TV history happened in season 1 of stranger things. Atmosphere playing while Jonathan cries in bed mourning Will. Nocturnal Me playing immediately after the scene of Jonathan and Nancy escaping the demogorgon, cutting to the credits. When It’s Cold I’d Like To Die playing as Hopper and Joyce rescue Will… (I kinda wish they didn’t re-use that track in season 4, it took away from its uniqueness). There are so many more iconic music moments I can’t think of right now
AND YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY CORRECT ANON
I'd also like to add the use of Hazy Shade of Winter when Barb gets snatched. Nocturnal Me is my FAVORITE FAVORITE use of music in s1 bc it adds to the spooky and "oh shit" factor so well like I remember sitting there genuinely thinking Nancy was going to die (it would not be the last time tbh)
Also, I very much agree with wishing they didn't reuse When It’s Cold I’d Like To Die in s4 like it felt like they were trying too hard to make people emotional in that scene (I feel the same way about Heroes in s3 but it gets more of a pass bc of the s3 epilogue on a whole) Like yes I was crying for Max, Lucas, El and Dustin but I was crying more because I remembered Will and I think they KNEW that would happen which like if I were a theorist I could articulate thoughts about but I think they could've picked something better that fit more of the "loss of innocence/point of no return" vibe that scene had
