Just saw someone say 'I'm glad we're all agree' and I feel like committing a crime. Do you know how many times I've heard students say 'I'm agree(d)' only for english teachers to go 'it's 'I agree'' Do you know how many times!!! And now English natives are just going around saying it anyway???? I'm sorry I can't do this
#usually y'all make separate mistakes!!#like we're taught the language from a grammar pov so we don't make your/you're there/their/they're mistakes#because they're very different entities grammatically so it doesn't make sense for us to make them#i lean you'll see it happen but it's not the classic student mistake#i'm agree(d) is waayy more common#forgetting the s in the third person or starting all questions with does etc#'does the question will be on the exam?' if you have trouble seeing what this looks like#a native english speaker will almost never say that unless they're speaking some kind of dialect i'm nit aware of#but that's just such a fundamental mistake that you don't make it#we do though. but we're not going at it from a 'fuck it we ball' approach so we don't mistake their for they're for there#i mean i have the fuck it we ball approach but i also read enough to know how to spell almost everything#english is much easier on that front than french btw#like is it voudrai or voudrais? well depends on how you're using it :) get your bescherelle out you idiot :))#anyway. how dare they make that mistake it's going to haunt me#wow i have a ramble tag now
