in all the fics so far that I’ve been working on/writing that involves Dave, his dad is a shitbag and now it’s a firm headcanon of mine that Dave has a distant “tough love” father who’s also incapable of properly loving his children (aka a shitbag lmao)

(and who’s also either a famous businessman or a famous scientist (mainly the former), but that’s besides the point)

his mum is the overprotective one who fusses over and inadvertently spoils him bc of his weak immunity
