looks like im going to be a volunteer at ilosaarirock so maybe i get to see käärijä one more time this summer while also being able to add some work experience in finland to my cv, its a win-win 😊

I was watching Bess's gig at the festival and noticed that Matti and Etel were next to me but behind a covered up fence (you know so people couldn't see artists or other vips if they wanted to watch each other's shows)

at first I didn't even see him but Jere was also there covered in a hoodie and a cap and sunglasses so less people would recognise him, but then HE noticed ME next to him and smiled and said, 'hey you have a Käärijä shirt', and I said 'yes! but I already got rid of my flower crown' and that he has a nice cover-up and he laughed

and I was like I don't want to bother you but could you PLEASE be so kind and sign your setlist I got at Ilosaarirock, and he said of course, and he did and DREW A LITTLE HEART ON IT and I said thank you so much, you're so lovely and HE HELD MY HAND and smiled and I said, see you in Kaivohuone and he said we will and we said have a nice night to each other

and at the same moment Bess started playing Ram Pam Pam and I've never danced so passionately to a song in my life and my heart feels like it's going to explode

Prior to its release we have had the chance to enjoy the first two single picks Orpolapsi kiurun and Ikkunaprinsessa. Ville Valo debuted as the singer for Agents already twenty years ago in the TV show Laulava sydän. The HIM vocalist’s soulful interpretations won over the TV audience, and especially, guitarist Esa Pulliainen – the seeds for a future collaboration were sown right there, right then. After Pulliainen came across some Badding demo tapes hidden in the darkest corner of his drawer, this unique project was finally born. The album Ville Valo & Agents contains previously unheard Badding compositions as well as a handful of his much loved classics like Paratiisi, Ikkunaprinsessa and Tähdet tähdet. ”The recording itself went very smoothly, even remarkably smoothly, if you ask me,” producer Pulliainen reveals. ”I guess sometimes things just click right from the word go. This sadly doesn’t happen that often but on this here worksite somebody up there really loved us! Plus we were well prepared, of course. I had been subconsciously working on the material for three years before I even started thinking arrangements and such. The same goes for Ville: he didn’t have to jump on a fast moving train but had all the time he needed to really dive into the material. I mean, it’s Ville who has had the toughest job here as he had to get under Badding’s skin and at the same time make damn sure he remains himself. My job was easy – I just played the guitar the way I’ve done for the past 40 years. I remember being in the studio with Badding. The most exciting moment was when it was time to record his vocals – would he or would he not elevate the songs with that strange magic of his? And, lo and behold, he always did! Ville Valo managed to do the same on this album and, let me tell you, that’s worth more than a pot of gold! I’m very proud and happy on behalf of the whole gang.” Ville Valo & Agents made their live debut at the Emma Gala (the Finnish equivalent of the Grammy Awards) held in early February. Their one-off collaboration continues in the form of a tour that kicks off in March and finishes soon after some handpicked festival appearances in the summer. Most of the shows are already sold out. dream: in which i was in a strange mixture of joensuu n turku?? partying in the night life w school ppl?? like we were in teams n there were like pub quizzes n such?? n at some point things got Heated™ n i had to flee which is when i found myself in joensuu, near the science park n where ilosaarirock is held n such. anyway i was on the run and boy did i run, i ran so gd fast it shouldve made me realize it was a dream but it didnt cos as it was i was too concerned abt the ppl who were after me. i ran over huge rocks n i think there was a ??? monument or sth there as well and i found my way to an open window n balanced my way in. so i was hanging from the ceiling and had to be quiet as hell cos apparently id come into a library full of Not Exactly Friends. managed to get out of there but that took all of my strength so i fell on the floor in the next room. there was a meeting going on and apparently these ppl were working on a strategy to make one of them, an innocent looking tall blonde woman, the next president or something. i joined the team but had to keep quiet cos i was kind of an outlaw n it was all very shady. anyway we started working on the strategy together n eventually went back out into the turku night life. took part in pub quizzes n stuff again and i got into fights cos i was drunk i guess but how????? did run into some friends from school too n explained that things were a little weird at the moment. also got shot at multiple times and constantly had to protect the woman we wanted to be the next president cos she wasnt very popular n ppl were constantly trying to hurt her. idek man it was so fuckin weird
