#this is kind of about the ppl ive seen upset about sanditon #but this has been on my mind since one of my beach reads pointed out #that the regency and the us civil war were concurrent #bc they mentioned a sidecharacter being a refugee freedman #who had come to testify against the us about slavery #and it was literally the first period novel id seen that had a black character #like ik period dramas are an escapist fantasy #but its obvious theres also an element of escaping social responsibility by pretending poc dont exist :///#themultifandomnerd #asks
