man. ik its the most iconic and im not saying this to be a contrarian i promise. but personally after watching pignites arc again, i think ash’s charizard may actually have the weakest “abandoned pokemon joins ash’s team and becomes a powerhouse” plot out of the fire starters

#ok its still better than gengar if we even count it at this point since theyve barely touched it #i used to say pignite easily had the weakest one but after rewatching those episodes…. man idk i think pignites just resonates w me more #im sorry but a good amount of charizards behavior is only attributed to ‘’uh it evolved lmao idk’’ in canon. not complicated feelings #most of the way i think abt charizard is just hcs and again. the disobedient arc shouldnt have lasted that long #like ik charmander in the rain is one of the msot heartbreaking images. and i agree its extremely sad #but man. something abt tepig being tied up to starve to death and seeing it get deathly thin #and then seeing it be extremely protective over its food after that and also being wary whenever it loses #and then it getting an entire follow up episode?? like. yeah its weird that its the 3rd one. and i kinda dont care i think its second best #(no way in hell of beating infernape lol sorry)#pignite is actually so depressing in the show and i love it. it makes me root for it #and then i dont have to deal w an annoyingly long ass disobedience arc #echoed voice
