#like if they're solidly established for 90% of the canon

there was a post a few days ago challenging people to share their filthy het ships which was funny because, you know, that really is a minority round these parts. and I was going to reblog it and add mine, but for the past few days, I have been stumped trying to think of mine.

Like. I definitely ship F!Byleth/Dimitri and even wrote a couple of fics for them, and the BatB one is still in the works. I would also still happily read anything with F!Robin/Chrom, and have not restarted Awakening multiple times just to S-rank them and get Chrom’s confession asap. (yes I know it’s on youtube shut up I love them)

But other than that? When I was still into the Avengers I wrote a bunch of Clint/Natasha, so I’d say that counts. But who else? Most of the time when I get into a fandom, it is specifically for the gay. And also because most times het relationships aren’t written well, they’re just forced together and there’s little chemistry. I can’t even say any of the Utapri guys, because my perception was formed so fully by the anime that I can’t really picture Haruka ending up with any of them (even though I want it to be Tokiya); if I’d played the games first, my feelings would doubtless be different. (Anyway, Tokiya’s mine. Or Ren’s. Or both. Cough.)

I guess I could go all the way back to Robotch and Lisa/Rick, which, while I’m not passionate about these days, still feels like a good solid partnership. But nothing else is really springing to mind, which it should when you ship a couple. Like, ask me my slash ships and we’ll be here for days. I’ll have to keep thinking about it, I guess.

edit: oh I thought of another! a couple actually, although in both cases they’re threesomes. Hitomi/Van/Allen from Escaflowne, and my own OCs, Tigreer/Marx/Daman of the Felids. I know Hitomi/Van is the actual ending couple in the anime, but I always felt like there was a good OT3 in the making there. Plus the fact that technically Hitomi can’t be with Van in the end, just for that bittersweet twist. And of course I can’t seem to have non-polycules even in my semi-original creations. Those sorta count, right?

(quicksandblock) one kind of keystone similarity I've noticed between c!Dream apologists is that they either can't see, or refuse to see, how important Tommy is to Dream. which, like - I don't really understand how? not only is his obsession with Tommy the core motivation for almost everything he does at this point, it's also one of the most solidly established facts we know about Dream despite the limited perspective we have on his character. a lot of things we have to deduce with guesswork, but the fact that Tommy is basically the center of his universe has been confirmed time and again.

I legitimately don't understand how you can watch the same streams I did and not naturally come to the conclusion that, oh yeah, this dude is obsessed with this kid. but somehow they don't seem to see it. they'll even acknowledge all the horrible things that Dream did to Tommy, but they dont seem to get why he did them. and I don't know how they can make any sense out of his actions without that central piece! if you don't acknowledge that Tommy is now the only thing Dream really cares about anymore, then none of his actions in the past 6 months make sense. it's bewildering.

I mean, I understand how they got there, by building headcanons on headcanons until they end up 90° off from canon and accelerating. I just don't get how it's in any way a satisfying experience for them.

They're ALWAYS the "these ppl only watch Tommy's POV" "people only dislike X Character because they hurt c!Tommy" "c!Tommy fans think everything revolves around c!Tommy 🙄" types and its. It's so Funny. Because in your faves case it Literally Does Revolve Around c!Tommy

People HATE when c!Tommy is associated with other characters they will literally bend what happened in canon to remove any trace of it (e.g Phil being very obviously supposed to care about him before the family dynamic was decanonised, twisted into "this man never met this child in his Life")

I literally saw someone say that c!Dream doesnt do it specifically to hurt and play with c!Tommy / he doesnt see him as a plaything and everything to do with c!Tommy was all for his happy family goal with a condescending "not everything is about your fav" and it's like ,,,,, this is the one case it is please he blatantly admits to finding him fun
