Literally all of the lovesquare is trash not just ladrien lmao
I personally don’t think of it as trash, but I appreciate your input?
Don’t get me wrong I do like the lovesquare, so these kind of messages kind of lose their impact on me. It’s more that, some ways they interact are better than others to me.
To sum up my opinion on the lovesquare dynamics and ranking them from best to nah here:
1) adrinette
2)marichat
3)ladynoir
4) that thing I’m trying not to accidentally put this post on the dash of people who like it. And am hoping that anon not blocking out the word won’t put it there if it does I’m sorry
I obviously prefer marichat more than tumblr does, everything else lines up and I still feel pretty vaild and plenty petty. If you want an explanation behind my reasoning, click below!
Starting with la/////drien, my point is that “cute flustered” bit never came through for me, I never liked it, they always just seemed awkward and distracted and the situation was uncomfortable. That side is my least favorite mostly because of two things.
1) how it started. As the show goes on, they’re obviously acknowledging that the other person involved has flaws, but at first they were really just putting the other person up on a pedestal and that mentally lasted a lot longer than I’m comfortable with. I’ve see the “all crushes are like that” argument going around and I just.... they aren’t? Maybe for the first little while, or, certain crushes, but it’s just weird to me in this case.
2) in this situation the masks actually bother me more. With lady noir, they’re both wearing masks and if I’m being honest that’s one step above lad////rien for me anyways, but, there is equal anonymity.
On the other hand, I think I like marichat because, in my opinion, adrien would f**k up the whole secret identity thing pretty fast in that scenario while Marinette wouldn’t? Or at least, adrien would do it sooner.
What I mean is that, in my opinion, Adrien’s behavior towards Marinette would change noticeabley and faster. I mean, we already saw this with evillustrator, the first thing he tried was asking her about his super self lmao? It’s going to take a lot for Marinette to be less flustered and awkward around Adrien, even being in her superhero persona didn’t really help all the way, plus secret identity keeping is really her thing at this point. Plus I believe they have a better chance of really getting to know the sides of one another that they don’t usually see. No awkward flustering or dumb distractions, they’re best buddies who know each other too well and can’t be best buddies at first and have to try very hard to not let on how well they know each other.
Adrien has to fight his way around not mentioning school and Marinette can’t remember their superheroing to well, friend running the ladyblog or not. Plus the whole concept of Adrien supporting Marinette’s crush on who he presumed is luka/Nathaniel/whoever is hilarious, and the chaos that would ensue if she followed Chat’s suggestions around Adrien would be hilarious too. (There’s an amazing fancomic where he comes across her upset after another failed confession and wants to know who the asshole is and she tells him and his brain stalls at “I’m the asshole?”) it’s just perfect to me lol.
But back to the masks! For one, whether you like it or not, they do act differently when they are and aren’t wearing them, specifically towards eachother! Marinette being so awkward and flustered almost solely around Adrien isn’t really her whole personality, it’s a consequence of her crush. When Adrien isn’t chat noir, he’s more.... well behaved and proper are the best words that come to mind. I’m not saying that these things aren’t apart of their personalities, but when the masks shift in certain ways they’re amplified in such a way that it sells the dichotomy perfectly. To Marinette, Chat is fun and goofy, and Adrien, although similar, is more reserved and polite. To Adrien, Marinette is shy, nervous and endearingly clumsy, with moments of confidence to be proud of while ladybug is confident and capable after a few bumps in the road. This does affect how they see the other person (ie, as two distinct people) and change how they act towards one another, as well as how they react to what they’ve perceived as a different person. Marinette obviously doesn’t fluster as easily and can be sarcastic and serious around Chat, and even though it isn’t quite as simple as I’m going to phrase it, Adrien is almost more... gentle, in the way he interacts with Marinette vs ladybug, almost like he’s seen her freak out so much that he feels a potential freak out is around the corner if he missteps.
(Back to Marichat lol) Another reason marichat bothers me less is that romance isn’t the goal from the outset. Befriending someone you don’t know a lot about is no big deal. Even though it’s a bit ironic for them, wanting to meet/befriend a superhero is a realistic goal for not hero people, and chat noir has interacted with Marinette a lot, so it’s not surprising he’d want to get to know her better. And they aren’t obsessed with dating/marrying each other, so they get to be goofy and also run the gambit of emotion when they realized they f**ked up and fell for each other by accident.
It’s simultaneously a cute friendship, a budding attraction towards one another and a somewhat stressful and unknowingly mutual game of cat and mouse as they’re both trying not to screw up identity stuff. With Lad///rien it’s just.... dramatic sigh and swooning nonsense.
(One last thing, the idea that chat noir would start paying more attention to where Marinette is and accidentally f**k up her chances for transformation by trying to make sure she’s safe is hilarious because unlike Adrien to ladybug, Marinette would appreciate the concern but start to get annoyed at some point and maybe even attempt to talk to him about it as ladybug, to get him to focus on fighting and not “some girl” which chat can easily misinterpret as jealous could you imagine)
Back to where we started, Ladr////ien just doesn’t work for me in a way that Marichat does. But beyond just the hero/civilian self sides, ladynoir works better in my opinion because again, equal anonymity, and second, Marinette would be consciously choosing chat noir instead of Adrien, not just getting an accidental 2 for 1 deal. I know they’d probably end up happy eventually, but I have a feeling that finding out Chat Noir, who ladybug turned down, kind of used the fact that she didn’t know his identity to date her anyways wouldn’t sit well with Marinette. And even though Marinette hasn’t really confessed, adrien might get the same feeling of, almost a betrayal in a sense.
(Marichat is also like ladynoir because they’re consciously choosing not ladybug and not Adrien, even though they get a surprise 2 for 1 anyways, and in that circumstance, finding out that they accidentally fell in love with the same person twice would probably smooth things over).
Adrienette will always be the part of the lovesquare that is the best because it’s.... it’s just them. It’s what the ship would be called if not for the secret identity complication. It’s probably where they’d pretty quickly land in the event of a reveal. Obviously, the dynamic would be something different if they revealed themselves, but in my opinion it’s also the most..... stable, I suppose, and equal, in the sense that, while, yes, they’re both hiding superhero secrets, I doubt they wouldn’t tell eachother eventually. They could meet each others friends and parents (if Gabriel didn’t suck so badly). It works in a way that ladynoir, lad////rien and even marichat doesn’t because even though they are hiding something from one another, it’s not a massive factor in how they interact. Ladynoir can’t happen without the constant reminder that they don’t even know each others names. Marinette would probably start to get frustrated with the idea that she’s dating Adrien but can’t hold his hand at school because she’s the wrong her. Adrien, well, as I said my theory is he’d flirt with Marinette by accident as himself rather than chat and complicate matters, but not like Marinette will “oh no two boys I like like me back what now”, instead she’d “two boys who like me look and act very similar and I’m starting to connect dots I’m not supposed to connect”

aramika coffeeshop au part 2
idk what i have to say other than,, after like 3 months part 2 is finally here,,
Part II: Arashi’s POV
It had been almost a week since Arashi had last seen that mysterious boy with the pastries. She was beginning to get anxious over it. She was completely sure that their meeting was fate, yet he had just completely vanished from her existence like a dream. Maybe it was a dream…? No, no. She very clearly remembered speaking to him. Leo had been very pleased with the pastries that had been delivered and even said that he was going to be strictly buying from them from now on. So then why had that adorable boy not shown up since Monday? She shook her head in frustration. It was just about time for Arashi to close up shop. The sun was starting to set and the sky was like something straight out of a painting. The shop was completely empty and she was the last employee left for the day. She really hated getting the last shift. It was so lonely and hardly anyone ever came in at this time of day. She began to brew herself some mint tea while muttering to herself about how she forgot to ask for the boys name sadly. She vowed to herself that next time she saw him, she would get his name for sure. As the clock on the wall chimed, signifying the end of her shift and the end of the store’s open hours, she took off her apron and stretched. She went into the back and picked up her cardigan and the keys to lock up the shop. This whole time she was still lost in thought over this mysterious pastry boy. She grabbed her tea and as she stepped outside. While in her distracted state, she ran right into someone and spilled hot tea all over him. He looked up at her with familiarly mismatched eyes and she instantly knew who he was. Oh god, not him. Anyone but him. She could handle the small amount of embarrassment that came from spilling tea on anyone else, but her own crush? The pastry boy? She blushed just a bit and covered her mouth with her hands in horror. “Oh my, I’m so sorry! I’m not usually clumsy at all but… but.. Ah, there’s no time to waste! Hurry inside!” The boy seemed a bit dazed but he followed her instructions and went inside the coffeeshop. Once in, he took off his jacket, which had a huge soaked stain on it and frowned. “Aww shit… I really liked this one too…” He remarked solemnly.
“I’m so sorry! It’s entirely my fault.” She frowned back, feeling defeated. She had made an absolute fool of herself infront of her crush. Surely he’d be upet with her. Suddenly, she had an idea. “Oh! If you don’t mind, I’d like to treat you to dinner as an apology!” She said hopefully.
She could’ve sworn she saw the boy blush just a bit. He looked surprised and smiled at her shyly. Oh god he was just the cutest. Wait. Did she just ask him on a date? She tried her absolute best not to show it on her face but she was a bit embarassed now. Of course it was a dream to go on a date with him, but they barely knew eachother and she didn’t know if it’d weird him out.
“Are ya sure? I’d be happy to go with ya but it really is just fine! It was just an accident, I get it.” He tried to reassure her.
Her face lit up in excitement. Oh, he really was just the kindest! Arashi knew a few people who would simply get mad at her if she had spilled coffee on them (Not naming names or anything, but she was definitely thinking about Izumi) and she was relieved this boy wasn’t one of those people. She didn’t know what she’d do if he were to get mad at her. Her crush on him was growing by the second, if that was even possible.
“Oh no no, it really is fine, babe! I know a really good restaurant downtown that we can go to!” She smiled brightly at him, excited for their maybe-kinda-sorta-not-really date. “Well then, let’s go!” He smiled back at her and grabbed her hand, practically running out of the store with her. She giggled at his enthusiasm and gladly followed him.
Part II: Mika’s POV
Mika’s brain was running at eight hundred miles per hour. Here he was, on his way to a date with the prettiest girl he’s ever seen. He couldn’t believe this was happening. Was this a dream? No, it couldn’t be. Come to think of it, I don’ even know her name, He thought to himself. It was quite strange to him that he could fall so hard for someone yet not even know their name. He glanced at her, wondering if it’d be too blunt to just straight up ask her right now. “Hey, Uhm….” He started slowly. “Yeah, love? What is it?” She turned to him, smiling and he could’ve sworn his brain stopped working for a minute. His face turned bright red at her response. Love? Love?? Did he just imagine that? He assumed cute nicknames were just commonplace to her and they didn’t mean too much but oh god, did that make his heart beat practically out of his chest. “Ah, Uhm…. W-well….” He had completely forgotten what he was going to ask her. He was too busy replaying her calling him “love” in his head. “I don’t think I’ve asked yet s-so… What’s yer name…?” He prayed that wasn’t too blunt. “Oh my! Come to think of it, I still haven’t properly introduced myself!” She looked surprised. “My name’s Arashi Narukami.” She winked at him and giggled. Oh wow, even her name was pretty. Was she perfect? Mika was roughly 100% sure she was perfect. “And what’s yours?” “I-I’m Mika! Mika Kagehira.” He responded with a smile. “Even your name is adorable!” She remarked cheerfully. She glanced down at her phone and stopped. “Oh oh! We’re here!”
Mika stared at the restaurant in a bit of shock. It seemed very romantic, like the types of restaurants that most couples go to in romcoms. This was starting to really turn more and more into a date, although Mika wasn’t sure if it was on purpose or not. If he was being honest, he couldn’t read Arashi that well. He couldn’t tell if she was just very friendly or if she really did like him. It’s probably best for him not to get his hopes up. He really couldn’t believe that someone like her would fall in love with him.
Once they had gotten a table at the restaurant, Mika was looking over the menu when he caught Arashi gazing at him happily over the top of her own menu. He blushed as their eyes met and quickly looked down. He heard her giggle and set her’s aside. God, her laugh was so cute. He wished he could just ask her out right at this moment. Of course, he wasn’t prepared to, and she’d say no, but he really wanted to. “Do you know what you’re gonna order?” She asked him happily. “Oh, yeah! Sorry, I got lost in though…” Once they had finished their meals, they both began talking about their interests and they surprisingly had a lot in common. Arashi was really good at holding a conversation and Mika found it really cute when she’d go on a little rant about something she really liked. They were currently talking about their past jobs and funny things that had happened while working. “Oh yeah! I also used to be a model for a bit.” She said nonchalantly, as if being a model was just some common job most people could get. Based on her looks, it was 100% believable for her to be a model, but that didn’t stop Mika from almost choking on his tea when she said it. “W-woah, really?” He asked in amazement. She must’ve been really popular as a model. “Yeah! I wasn’t, like, famous or anything but I was decently popular.” She nodded. Mika could’ve sworn her eyes were sparkling. She really was just absolutely gorgeous. He couldn’t take his eyes off of her. “Wow… ya really are angelic…” Mika accidentally blurted out. He only recognized what he had just said when Arashi blushed and looked down at the table. His eyes widened and his face grew hot. “I-I mean like… y’know… not in a weird way or anythin’!” He rubbed the back of his neck nervously. He couldn’t believe he had just said that. God, he was an idiot. Surely, she would be weirded out by it. There was absolutely no way he could save himself in this situation. “I’ve… never been complimented like that before…. thank you...” She replied softly. She was smiling and Mika immediately felt relieved. He was so glad that she didn’t hate him for it.
Arashi picked up her phone and looked at the time. “Oh, dear! The restaurant is going to close soon! I guess we should go, then!” There was a hint of remorse in her voice. Could it be that she wanted to continue to spend time with him? Wait… Did she like him? He had told himself to not get his hopes up but Mika was really getting his hopes up now. They walked out of the restaurant together happily. It had been an amazing date. Mika really wanted to hold her hand, but he wasn’t sure if he was overstepping his boundaries or not. Just then, Arashi turned towards him and took his hands in hers. She was smiling. “I had a lot of fun tonight! If you don’t mind, could I get your contact info?” She took out her phone and they exchanged numbers. Mika saw her off and proceeded to walk back to his apartment. He was so happy. Things couldn’t have gone any better than they did. He even had her number! He couldn’t wait to meet up with her again, even though he was literally just with her.
Once he got home, he flopped onto his bed and started thinking about what had happened that day. It had all seemed like such a dream! It all went way too well to be true. Well, that is, except for the part where he got tea spilled all over his favorite jacket. He didn’t mind though. He was the happiest he had ever been and couldn’t wait to see Arashi again.

I would love to See you do a scyvie fic Where Theyre like both in high school and eachothers biggest competitors or enemies and then they have to team up for something while sloooowly falling for eachother😌 I know you could slay that
“Can you stop doing that?” Yvie groaned, suddenly snapping. Scarlet cocked a brow in her direction, with the pen still stuck in her mouth.
“What? This?” she inquired with a muffled voice, going back to chew her pen. Yvie rolled her eyes, exasperated, and Scarlet smirked. Her favorite thing to do was get Yvie mad.
“Whatever, not my problem if you can’t get these exercises done on your next test,” she bit back. Scarlet immediately shut up and straightened her pose.
This had been their routine for the past month; meeting at the school library twice a week so Yvie could give Scarlet a hand on chemistry, and Scarlet doing all but pay attention.
If it wasn’t because the chemistry teacher had asked personally to give Scarlet some classes, she’d have never accepted to do it. Her and Scarlet weren’t in the best terms, and Yvie wasn’t sure why, but there was just this unspoken rivalry between them since ninth grade.
Scarlet, despite being a cheerleader and looking like a walking stereotype, was pretty smart, and always achieved the highest grades among her classmates. Or, that was until ninth grade, when Yvie got transferred from The Boulet Sisters Academy, and had the “fortune” to share every class with Scarlet.
And just like that, Scarlet was no longer the teacher’s pet and the student on top of her class; Yvie was determined to give her competition, it seemed, and Scarlet did not like that at all.
Now they were seniors, and their rivalry was still there, but there was something different this time; Scarlet had broken her left foot during a cheer practice and missed class for two weeks. Although she was caught up with most of the subjects, chemistry wasn’t her strongest suit. Contrary to what she expected, missing two weeks of chemistry had really left her confused, to the point she failed on a test for the first time.
The teacher lost no time in asking Yvie to help her out for the next test, and that led to their current situation; staying after school at the library, going over what they saw on class to make sure Scarlet understood.
“So, basically, these components won’t react unless you set the temperature to 20°F,” Yvie explained, doing scribbles on her notebook.
“Oooh, so that’s why it didn’t turn pink like the teacher said,” Scarlet said, thoughtfully. She glanced at her phone and suddenly shot up from her seat, beginning to pack her things. “Shit, I’m late to cheer practice!”
“I guess that’s it for today, then,” Yvie concluded, packing her stuff too. “See you on thurs-”
“Um, actually,” Scarlet cut her off, “Could you keep me company on the changing room? The football team has the gross habit of trying to spy on us when we get changed, and most of the girls are already on the field by this moment, so…” Yvie sighed.
“Fine, lets go. But if this is some kind of joke, bitch, I swear to God-”
“Oh, thanks! And no, it’s not, don’t worry,” Scarlet assured her, “So, shall we get going?” she wondered, taking a step and turning her back on Yvie.
Yvie wasted no time on following her; the sooner they got to the changing room, the sooner she’d go home. Easy peasy.
As soon as they were out of the library, Scarlet began babbling about how much she loved cheerleading and how exciting it was to be back after missing many practices. Yvie let her rant, only answering with hums of short answers. She had to admit, though, Scarlet looked cute with that shiny smile, it suited her better than the resting bitch face - of course, she’d never say that out loud. Yvie didn’t want to boost the already giant ego Scarlet had.
Arriving into the changing room there wasn’t a single soul around. Yvie was about say goodbye and turn on her heels to get out of there, but Scarlet called her name again.
“Hey, Yvie, could you stay a little longer while I get changed? None of the girls are here, but I thought they would and, uh-”
“It’s cool,” Yvie interrupted her this time. “I’ll just, sit here.” Scarlet nodded and headed to her locker some feet away. Yvie sat on the bench and pulled out her phone.
“Like I was telling you,” Scarlet continued. Yvie gave her a glance and her breath got caught in her throat when she saw Scarlet pull her shirt off, quickly putting on her uniform top. “During regionals, Plastique was dating this dude, can’t remember his name, and when we won she was so euphoric she kissed Ariel just because she was standing near by, although the rest of the team never understood why they fully made out for, like, three minutes,” she went on, but Yvie didn’t remember how did they end up talking about that.
“Uh huh,” she mumbled, trying to look away, but failing miserably. Her stare was glued to Scarlet. “Adrenaline, I suppose,” she choked out.
Scarlet laughed. Yvie then noticed she had a nice laugh. “Yeah, probably, but anyway.” She pulled out her skirt from the locker and Yvie blushed a little.
“Do you want, uh, do you want me to look away…?” Yvie wondered, Scarlet shrugged.
“If you want to, I always put my skirt over my jeans anyway; some of these girls are nasty gals,” she joked, giggling a little. She proceeded to do what she said, and Yvie sighed in relief.
The relief lasted a second, though; Scarlet soon slid the jeans down her legs and Yvie nearly fainted. Her legs were long, tanned and perfect. She could do nothing but stare.
Yvie finally looked away and tried to focus on her instagram feed, anything to keep her from starring with her mouth wide open. Some moments later, she heard Scarlet close her locker and Yvie looked up to meet her gaze.
It should be illegal to look that good on an uniform with that ugly shade of orange.
“I think I should join the others,” she informed, with an awkward smile. Yvie immediately rose from her seat, nodding many times. “Thank you, by the way.” She smiled warmly to her, and Yvie felt her face burning again.
“Yeah, sure, uh, you’re welcome.” Yvie forced a smile. “See you, I guess.” She hold on tight to her backpack and turned on her heels, in direction of the door.
“See you on thursday!” she heard Scarlet exclaim before leaving the room, with her cheeks bright red and her heart pounding against her chest.
Only when Yvie was out of the school, she wondered what on earth was that feeling on her chest that wouldn’t vanish.
