Bruce Dickinson just did a two-hour podcast interview with Rich Roll and name-dropped Russ Ballard when talking about Samson and "Riding With the Angels" and I could do nothing but think of you immediately by association. "Ah! Yes! lock-my-feelings-in-a-jar's blorbo!"

i went to watch some to find that part because i assumed it was somewhere near the beginning because of the timestamps in the description so i just played it from the start until then

and i laughed when the guy said "a guy that doesn't really do podcasts" even though he does the psycho schizo espresso podcast

but anyway

also i love bruce's red shoes

YES I FOUND IT i love how as soon as riding with the angels is mentioned by the other guy, that's ALL BRUCE SAYS, just "russ ballard. russ ballard." and then gets back to his story. thank you bruce, for pointing out who did the original, it's one of my favorite things for a musician to do when talking about any cover songs

love this because first there was the video of russ talking about bruce with an iron maiden fan(he got a fact slightly wrong but that's okay(and then she was like "you're such a legend it's crazy" and he was like "oh don't!" and that was cute)) earlier this year while he was preparing a prank gift for somebody on tour with them

and now we have this with bruce mentioning russ
