re: the alectopause i wonder if the presumed lack of one central point of view character has made it more difficult/challenging to write compared to the other books in the series. like we've all assumed alecto won't be the primary pov this time despite being the title character because her pov would be challenging to maintain, tiring to read and unsatisfying as a conclusion for the other characters, and that it'll therefore be more of an ensemble pov vibe. but perhaps that's a difficult mode for tamsyn to switch to since it's so much to juggle? especially given i think having a really strong narrative voice for each book is one of the things the series most excels at and now she's kind of lost that
#blahs#tlt#i think as well it's important to remember 'alecto the ninth' originally encompassed what is now nona the ninth#so the nona pov WAS going to be the significant chunk of alecto pov#i think probably the plan was for the book to pull a fun pov twist and be like psyche you were reading the title pov all along#before bringing in other characters after the first act. which doesn't quite play out the same over multiple books#like i wonder how much alecto pov is even left in her own book at this point#anyway idk i think it's the asoiaf fan in me but i think it's interesting to wonder what specifically is taking her so long#like what's her equivalent of the meereenese knot. except i honestly couldn't predict enough of the atn plot to guess a plot point lol#obvs it's quite a complex story so that's most of the reason but it'd also make sense to me if she's writing against her comfort zone#i could be talking bullshit tho. it's just tlt is the only long form work of hers we have to go on regarding her preferred mode of writing
