i'm just saying id rather read something that's writing style is nothing special but that the author's passion and sincerity can be clearly seen in than read something with the most Amazing Masterful writing style that lacks a real sense of passion/genuineness/connection

#like i get that being Ungenuine/Cynical can be a deliberate choice in certain things (satires and the like sometimes)#but like even if its on purpose that doesn't change the fact that i still think it sucks and is unenjoyable #and like i have writing styles i personally don't vibe with and i don't like writing that are objectively just Pretty Bad #but like Heart is way more important than whether an authors writing is Amazing #and yes really good writing can better convey heart and feeling and connection #but sounding like Literary Gold is not a requirement for that. its just a sprinkle on top #and something can sound like Literary Gold and just feel empty of any real subtance too #like if you can literally only have one it should be Heart
