anyway light would be vocal NDP voter and most of his views would line up pretty neatly with theirs but he’d confuse a nominal belief in such politics for an actual understanding of what they mean and what needs to be done to enact them. he says he supports prison abolition but if you talk to him you’ll discover he has so many exceptions for ‘actually bad’ criminals that he functionally wants more people punished than are currently and he wants them to be killed by the community once the revolution comes. he supports safe injection sites but he thinks they should be kept in ‘appropriate’ places and he’s got no answers as to where such a place might be. he really does support a UBI and universal healthcare because they are for people who ‘deserve’ help.
