Now think about how Clarisse and Lee teamed up in the chariot race and Lee probably worked really hard to keep up good relations with ares cabin (cuz they can be real petty) only for all that to go to waste over, you guessed it, a "chariot"

Imagine how mad Will must be at Clarisse. Like, it was mostly her fault his brothers were dead as she refused to fight and lead her cabin. She only came because of Selina and probably did not even think about Will. I don't think any amount of apology could make up for that. Clarisse give Will the chariot keys and all Will wants to do is Throw them as far as he can. That's just so sad D:
