Like are you telling me I gotta pay at least half my earnings/belongings or more to my partner just coz I earn more? and for what 10-20 years?? till they get remarried or die??? Like wtf I'm not their parent! If you're an adult, which I guess u are coz u decided to marry someone, then you sure as hell can work at ur age smh and get up on ur feet! Why do I gotta give my money just so u can live "THE LIFE"??

What exactly is "equal rights" about this? And I could scream a lot more about how men are mostly the target of all this(coz they usually earn more) and smh no women says "I'm independent, I dont need no money" then, aint no way feminism is sacrificed in this right?? I could say a lot but u get my point.

I've been having a shitty shitfest of a life lately, which, when adding the sometimes awful people we get at the library on top of, has been resulting in me being constantly ready to rip my hair out and go cry. This happening seriously boosted my mood and holy crap, the small gesture made me feel so much better for a bit. You tend to forget that there's actually nice people in the world when things decide to fall apart around you.

Last night (5/13) I went to ⭐🦌 because I was a dumb and forgot to get my mother her obligatory gift card for Mother's Day (always get her one with something else.). She collects the temporary designs so I didn't wanna do the egift thing. 

This woman and who I'm guessing was either a daughter or niece were at the register and after the younger girl was irritated that they were out of cake pops, they finally figured out what they wanted. Older woman whips out one of those ANCIENT coupons they used to give out if the drink orders were wrong or if people were bitchy and entitled and wanted to try their hardest to earn free stuff. You could tell this thing was in the bottom of a purse or something for ages. Wrinkled to crap, and looking like it was gonna fall apart.

Barista at the register had this look on his face like he was getting sent to the electric chair or something when he saw that and said that he would double check with his manager, but he was pretty sure that those went out of service a long time ago and couldn't be redeemed. He checked with someone and I'm assuming she confirmed it because he told the customers that he was sorry and that corporate phased them out a long time ago and the system would literally not accept it. Unfortunately, because it was obviously this poor guy's fault, older lady bitched him out, called him stupid, etc. and her daughter told her to contact corporate about "this idiot." They paid for their drinks anyway after TOTALLY showing "this idiot" by making idiots of themselves instead, and went to wait for their drinks ( both the most complicated frozen, blended coffee beverages offered by the chain) while saying horrible things about this guy.

When I was up, having been a cashier, sales associate, library supervisor, and currently an Information Services and programming librarian, I felt bad for him and apologized that he had to deal with people like that. He said he was used to it and I replied with being glad he didn't let her get to him because she was clearly a miserable old c*nt anyway. He laughed and said he was glad I said it because he couldn't when he was on the clock. While we were chatting about the mutual pains of customer service and I loaded Mom's gift card, I ordered my drink after and he didn't charge me for it. I tried to pay because I felt bad and didn't wanna get him in trouble but he said that ⭐🦌 is a multi-million dollar company and they wouldn't miss one drink. I still feel bad about never carrying cash (I generally tip on my card) because I wished I could have left something. :(

Bonus petty satisfaction- I went to get my drink and Bitch and Minibitch were both complaining that their complicated drinks were "taking too long" to be made. Mine came out before theirs did and they both had this equally pissed off look on their faces about it. "We ordered first, how'd she get hers so quick?"
