Fortune's Favored (bg3 bunny part 11)
[Part 1] [Part 10]
OH HI I've been a little distracted but here's more
*immediately goes back to playing Deltarune*
----
We were silent for a moment as we tucked in to the food. The ‘stew’ that Zevlor had mentioned earlier was really just a glorified gruel, spruced up with minced vegetables and copious amounts of rosemary to mask the otherwise bland taste. It was a reminder that these people really didn’t have much. They were kind to share their rations.
“So, Wyll…” I spoke up when the quiet had stretched on a bit. “How did you end up on the nautiloid?”
He let out a breath, and I got the impression that he’d been anticipating the question. I watched as he frowned down at his bowl. The flickering light of the torches played gently upon his dark skin, highlighting the scars I’d noticed before. More trailed up his right cheek, stopping at the cheekbone just below his false eye. So much trauma for such a youthful face. He’d faced more than just harpies over the years, clearly.
“I was hunting in the Hells,” he answered at length, meeting my gaze evenly. “…You saw her, didn’t you? When our minds connected. Advocatus diaboli.”
Latin again. I turned the words over in my mind for a second before it clicked—devil’s advocate. Somehow I felt the phrase was meant to be taken in a more literal sense here.
“A devil?” I asked, remembering the figure from the vision. She hadn’t had big leathery wings like the devil I had seen on the mind flayer ship, but her whole body had been blazing as brightly as the sword he wielded.
Wyll nodded. “One of the archdevil Zariel’s own—chaos incarnate, a devil with pure fire for a heart. I made my way to Avernus to stop her. She even went so far as to climb aboard the mind flayer ship while I gave chase. The rest… well, you’ve lived it.”
“She climbed on the ship and you followed her?”
“Every moment Karlach draws breath is more blood spilt, more lives taken,” he shot back, bristling a little. “Her fires raged in Baldur’s Gate before she escaped to Avernus, as my source told it—and she was planning to return. It was a risk I had to take.”
“Right, I hear you,” I said, holding my hands up in defeat. I still thought he was nuts, but I wasn’t about to argue the point; he followed his target into literal Hell, why wouldn’t he jump on the fucking nautiloid? Just another Tuesday, apparently.
“But your gamble didn’t pan out and you got stuck in a pod,” I continued. “We’re all infected. You know what that means, right?”
“Mm. Doomed to shed our skin and become illithid, or so the stories go. But we haven’t sprouted any tentacles—not yet, anyway. Could just be good luck. I’m not so sure.”
He didn’t look nearly as troubled by the prospect as he should’ve been, but maybe it was just a front. I had certainly been doing a healthy amount of compartmentalizing the past few days. It was either that or have a total breakdown.
But this was a good thing. He wasn’t easily shaken, and he seemed like good people.
“Either way, we’re living on borrowed time,” I pointed out. “My other companions, the ones who helped in the goblin attack—they were all on the ship, too. Why don’t you join us? We’re looking for a healer.”
He considered this for a moment, lips tugging down in a frown.
“Just so you know, my first duty is Karlach. I’m oathbound to go after her.”
This guy has some seriously backwards priorities, I thought, trying not to let it show on my face. Then again, was I really one to talk? My heroic little stand against the harpies had been borderline suicidal.
“That’s fine,” I responded. “I… can’t guarantee the others will be on board, but I’ll help if I can. I still owe you for earlier.” Even though that devil woman looked freaking jacked and could probably squash me like a bug, if I didn’t get immolated first.
“I had no expectation of repayment, friend—but you have my thanks, all the same.” Wyll brightened, flashing an easy smile. “I won’t deny that this infection is bothersome. I accept your invitation.”
Returning the smile, I felt myself relax a bit. That made… what, six of us now? We were forming a respectable party.
I thought about what I had accomplished before, alongside the Symphonia crew—half of us had just been headstrong kids, and we’d saved the world. Surely as a group of experienced adults, we could manage something as simple as saving ourselves.
With talk of Karlach and the mind flayers out of the way, we ventured on to easier topics. Wyll was more than happy to regale me with the tale of how he became the Blade of Frontiers, a story that involved saving a child from bloodthirsty goblins. I had been half expecting some epic about slaying dragons to save a princess; maybe he still had that one on deck for later. I was taking care to keep the focus on him, but I didn’t actually have to try that hard in the end. Like Gale, Wyll did seem to enjoy telling lengthy personal anecdotes—though his brand of self-aggrandizement seemed to stem more from naïveté than sheer arrogance. Total main character energy.
… Though for all I knew, maybe he was the main character. If I could relinquish this tenuous leadership to him and go back to being a snarky supporting actor, I’d be ecstatic.
He was from Baldur’s Gate, the only child of a single father; they hadn’t spoken since he left the city years ago. “A staunch father and a rebellious son,” as he painted it. Still, he was familiar with the lay of the land and seemed to have connections. Our group needed someone like him.
“But enough about me,” Wyll said at last, polishing off the last of his meal. “Surely you have a tale or two to share. Never heard an accent like yours before—not from around here, I take it?”
“You could say that,” I replied with a forced smile. I had been wondering when someone would finally call me out on my American accent. Everyone else here sounded like they were from the UK; between that and my modern, slangy way of speaking, I stuck out like a sore thumb.
“But it’s late. I think the stories might have to wait,” I added, pushing my chair back from the table and standing up. “So, about tomorrow…”
Deflect and redirect. I told him about Nettie, about Halsin’s predicament and the location of the goblin camp, and about my promise to speak to Kahga on Zevlor’s behalf. As expected, he dropped his previous line of questioning and quickly expressed interest in joining me. We made a plan to meet up in the morning, then parted ways.
I privately hoped no one would still be up as I made my way back to camp, still lugging damp belongings. Even setting up my bedroll sounded like too much work at this point. Maybe I’d just pass out face down in the dirt. That sounded good…
----
Our camp was set up at the crest of a hill just beyond the entrance to the Hollow, near where we’d spoken to Zevlor earlier. A few dirt paths lined with torches wound their way through lush greenery further up the slope, leading to the ramparts over the front gate where several tieflings still stood guard. Only Gale and Shadowheart were present at the campfire when I returned; they halted their conversation and looked up at the sound of my footsteps.
“Please, don’t stop on my account,” I said in a voice loaded with false cheer, fighting a grimace as I slowly sank down on to a nearby log. It was painful enough that I was surprised my joints didn’t squeal like rusty hinges.
“You’re back. I was beginning to wonder if you’d found someone to share a bed with,” Shadowheart commented with a tilt of her head and an arch smile.
I made a face. “Oof. That is the absolute last thing on my mind right now.” Absurdly enough, I suddenly found myself trying to picture a naked tiefling, but the only image I could conjure up was Rolan’s sullen face. Christ. Okay, not going to unpack that one.
“Are you all right?”
That was Gale. I saw his eyes flicker down to my injured hand, which was starting to bleed through the bandages. Ever the caretaker.
The laugh I let out was meant to put him at ease, but it came out sounding slightly hysterical, a side effect of my exhaustion and the lewd nature of my thoughts. If he hadn’t been worried before, he definitely was now. Even Shadowheart raised an eyebrow.
“Te curo.”
Warmth washed over me, calming the most intense of the aches. The pain in my arm faded and when I flexed my fingers, I noted that the gash on my palm felt like it was totally gone. The weight of my fatigue, too, had lessened; I found myself once again marveling at the wonder of healing magic.
Then I noticed that Gale was still staring at my hands, looking troubled. I unraveled the bandage and tossed it into the fire, showing him the unblemished new skin. He blinked, seeming almost startled, then flashed me a hesitant smile.
“I’m okay now,” I tried to assure him, though his reaction confused me. Then I shot our cleric a grateful look. “Thanks. I’d explain, but uh… it’s kind of a whole thing. Maybe in the morning. Where are the others?”
“Nearby,” Shadowheart responded. She was still giving me a skeptical look, but didn’t press it. “The gith was unimpressed with your change in plans, to say the least. I’d advise you to keep your distance if you want to have any peace tonight.”
I blinked in surprise. “My change in—?”
“Apologies,” Gale cut in. “As you were absent, I took the liberty of relaying what we discussed.”
He didn’t actually sound all that apologetic; there was a bit of a stern edge to his voice that surprised me. Was he annoyed?
“It’s all good,” I said, waving a hand dismissively. “For what it’s worth, I hope Lae’zel didn’t bite your head off.”
“Oh, I am not so easily cowed. As little as I relish being the subject of a githyanki warrior’s ire, I have withstood far worse—and come out stronger for it.”
“Not to mention our wizard’s head is so big, she likely would have bitten off more than she could chew,” Shadowheart pointed out dryly.
Gale let out a “hmm” in response, but he was smiling, unbothered by the jab. He’d thus far never made a real effort to deny his inflated ego.
“On the subject of the archdruid, I have to say I agree with your reasoning,” Shadowheart continued, sobering. “Halsin may be our best chance at curing this affliction. I have little faith that the githyanki at the crèche will do anything other than kill us on sight. I think our path forward is clear.”
I nodded, feeling some relief. Her approval meant more to me than I thought it would. I guess it was just reassuring to know she wasn’t going to hate me forever for the Lae’zel thing.
“I still intend to pay the druids a visit in the morning,” I said, gingerly getting to my feet once more. “Let’s plan on an early start.”
Gale and Shadowheart voiced their agreement, and we said our goodnights. After ensuring my gear was laid out in a good spot to dry by the fire, I moved on, hoping to find a nice location on higher ground to lay out my bedroll. There was a particular space further up the path that looked perfect—just private enough without being too far from everyone else.
Though it was a bit warmer out here than it had been in the cavern, it was still a fairly comfortable summer night. A pleasant breeze caused the tall grasses to sway as I made my way up the dirt path. The crickets were out in full force. Their song was grounding, in a way; far away from home as I was, at least I still had some familiar comforts.
When the path leveled out, I paused, staring towards the horizon. It was strange to see it so dark. Even in the mountains back home, I had never been that far from some type of civilization. You could always see lights in the distance from higher ground. But here? Nothing. A sky unmarred by light pollution.
I had forgotten what that was like—the darkness and the quiet. There was peace in it, but in some ways it was a little unnerving. No more modern-day conveniences. I would have to once again get used to danger being a constant companion.
It was easy to view my Aselia days through rose-tinted glasses… but the reality was, I’d been living in a relentless state of fear back then. Always wondering if I’d survive what came next, or worrying one of my friends would die. Though I felt like I was adjusting much faster than the first time around, I knew it was only going to get tougher from here. I couldn’t afford to be careless; there wouldn’t always be a Wyll to save me from surprise harpies.
“It’s quite a sight.”
Jumping a little, I swung around to see Astarion lounging on his bedroll just a few feet behind me. God, speaking of careless—how had I not noticed him there?! With my stellar observation skills, he was lucky I hadn’t stepped on him.
“The stars, I mean. I could take or leave your chin,” he added, smiling slyly in a way that said he knew he had caught me off guard. He was leaning back on his elbows, legs slightly splayed, one bent at the knee and the other stretched out. The position did wonders to show off his gloriously tight leather pants.
I turned away before my eyes wandered too brazenly. Why did he have to dress like he belonged on the cover of a romance novel? His frilly white camp shirt was especially egregious.
All the same, it was a welcome distraction. I didn’t want to think about my close call today. About my weakness.
“They are beautiful tonight,” I responded, cracking a smile that I hoped didn’t look as fake as it felt. “Warming up to the country life already, huh?”
“Ha! Now, I wouldn’t go that far.”
Staring up at the sky, I privately lamented not being able to set up my bedroll here. It came as no surprise, though, that Astarion would’ve staked his claim on the most desirable spot. This was probably what he’d meant by ‘making camp’ earlier.
“Still, I’m unused to seeing them with such clarity. Traveling like this hasn’t been altogether unpleasant, I’ll admit,” he continued. “I’ve been thinking… reflecting on what tomorrow might bring. This Halsin… will he be able to bring the worm under control? Will this little adventure of ours be over?”
I recognized the softness in his voice—it was the same way he’d spoken to me last night, back at the chapel ruins. That already felt like ages ago.
Turning toward him once more, I tried to decipher his pensive expression. His brows were drawn together slightly, his garnet eyes glimmering in the torchlight. There was something almost sentimental in that look, in his tone.
First sign of change, and I’ll have to stop that pretty little heart of yours.
I could not figure this guy out.
“I have a feeling we’ll be traveling together for a while yet,” I responded after a moment of thought. I didn’t want to outright say that I doubted we had any choice in the matter, but that was how I felt. Worms or no, I had a sneaking suspicion that we were bound by Plot Shenanigans for the foreseeable future.
“Good.”
“Good?” I blurted out incredulously before I could stop myself.
“How rude!” Astarion laughed, a light titter, as he got to his feet. “And here I thought you liked our merry little band.”
“That’s not—” I cut myself off mid-protest, realizing he was just giving me shit. “I guess I’m just surprised you do.”
He smiled, taking a step closer. “Oh, I suppose the others have their uses.”
The others. My brow furrowed a bit as I looked up at him, trying to read his expression. He had stepped forward out of the torchlight, and now the moon cast a soft glow on his silvery hair, his alabaster skin.
“…And me?” I found myself saying, uncertain.
“You,” he purred, the smile growing. “I’m not ready to let you go just yet.”
I prayed the semi darkness hid the flush that was starting to creep on to my face. What was happening here? Was he gaslighting me in some weird roundabout way, or had our last conversation not been about my untimely death-by-stabbing?
“You’re quite the ally, after all,” he continued, seemingly unfazed by my deer in headlights stare. “Traversing Avernus, surviving the crash… surviving everything that’s followed. I’m not easily impressed by people, but you’re stronger than I gave you credit for.”
“Oh. Um… thanks? I honestly wasn’t even sure you liked me,” I said, more lost than ever. Coming from him, the compliment felt completely unearned. Why was he buttering me up?
“You have your charms… more than you know.” His voice had dipped lower. He took another step forward, decreasing the distance between us.
My breath caught in my throat for a second. I’d be lying if I said the proximity wasn’t affecting me. The man was beautiful, and the way he was looking at me…
That’s what this is, I realized suddenly. That practiced smile, the hunger in his eyes. He was a player, plain and simple. My stomach dropped; I had figured this out already on some level, but I resented being reduced to a mere conquest.
I took a pointed step back, giving him a flat look. “Cute. But I think charm is more your domain, hotshot.”
“Tsk. You’re no fun.”
The mask dropped from his face just as surely as if it were a tangible thing. I watched his eyes sharpen, his lips curling into a roguish smirk. There was still an intensity to his gaze that unnerved me.
I rolled my eyes, trying to pretend I wasn’t bothered. “Good night, Astarion.”
As soon as I turned on my heel to walk away from him, my heart leapt into my throat. Leaving my back exposed felt like a mistake. But that instinct was irrational; he had no real reason to hurt me, right?
“Sleep tight,” he said without missing a beat. “I’ll see you later, I’m sure.”
Why did that feel like a threat?
“Better not,” I called back, throwing a little wave over my shoulder as I kept walking. Best to play it off like banter. Safer that way.
I made my way downhill, back in the direction of the glowing campfire where Gale and Shadowheart still sat. Suddenly the idea of finding a private spot to throw down my bedroll seemed infinitely less appealing.
----
A/N: Astarion needs a Snickers.
I think I might squeeze Karlach in day 3??? After all the fun with Kahga of course. Trying to figure out what makes sense narratively. Another packed day is coming lol

Something that I love about getting the Grillby'z lore is that yeah they're side characters and pretty easy to breeze by to focus on the ensemble cast, but it's so clear that Toby Fox loves them?? He filled this little universe twice over with an amazing group of characters and eight years later is still thinking about them as much as we are

MAJOR deltarune chapter 2 spoilers below the cut!!!
But here are my thoughts, I didn’t think to type this up as a live-reaction type thing until late in the game so some of this is typed up as I go but most will probably come after I’ve finished
Ok first off, I love the aesthetics of chapter 2 so much!! The first chapter was really good too (I am a sucker for card game aesthetics what can I say) but the music, the enemies, the atmosphere is just so fantastic in part 2.
Toby (and Temmie since I know she does a lot of the spritework and designing) and whoever else was working on this did such an excellent job
Tumblr media
I also got stupidly excited over the fact that the original Starwalker joined our inventory and I about died when they started walking behind us. I love the little icon in the menu and it’s really Pissing me off that they couldn’t join the party for real. Original Starwalker appreciation post :)
ALSO unrelated to this area but guys try to go all the way to the bottom of the yellow car traffic puzzle. It’s hard but there is a Funny there, please trust me it’ll be worth it.
You have to be careful when timing the lights (I think I stopped the red cars before the yellow) and try not to bump into anything so Kris doesn’t lose their speed when trying to get there.
Tumblr media
Speaking of dudes who I love, Spamton is absolutely supreme, I seriously cannot get enough of this guy. I didn’t think to start this post until after I fought him so I don’t have any images but his theme music is awesome.
I don’t care if he’s super sketchy and questionable I’m giving him all my kromer. Going to become a big shot. Also the menu outside the shop isn’t lying his potions really do poison you inside and outside of battle lol
I’m stuck doing his basement puzzle because I have no spatial awareness so I keep dying to the bullets on the teacup ride back up. I’m nervous because this situation is just reminding me of the Jevil fight, I hope whatever secret miniboss comes out of this has a little mercy on me.
And I don’t fully remember but I think when you first talk to him about the Knight he mentions a “clown,” does he know Jevil? He seems like the kind of character who knows more about things than he should, much like Jevil or Seam.
Also interesting is the fact that if you go back to the shopkeepers in the city, Kris seems to say something about Spamton to them and they either deny knowing him or say that they refuse to bring his name up ever again. Hm. Someone who’s done a lot more digging into this game can probably make a good theorypost about him but there’s weird stuff here
Tumblr media
Also the Queen is so hilarious. God just look at these portraits, they laugh at you when the song in this room gets to the point where the Queen laughs, and I love that detail :)
I hate to make the homestuck comparison but she reminds me of a cross between Kanaya and Roxy and knowing Toby’s homestuck background I do wonder about that. Also more nice comparison to superstar saga but her theme song kinda gives me Cackletta vibes. She is great :)
Also I thought that maybe based on her design that she was supposed to be Lancer’s mom, like the Spade Queen or something, but Lancer didn’t make any comments to suggest that? It does make me wonder where the remaining queens and jacks are, if there are any.
We see the rest of the kings locked in the basement of the palace (later in Ralsei’s house too), and when looking at Lancer in the overworld inventory it says he’s the jack of spades, so do the other kings have sons? Are there queens too? I’m really curious about this.
Later addition #1: Spamton neo battle?????? He can turn your soul yellow!! New soul mechanics holy crap :0
His earlier theme also reminded me of the songs in undertale associated with the ghosts/dummies, the fact that he has even more callbacks to Mettaton in his later battle is very interesting. This song really reminds of “Ghost Fight” from undertale too. ALSO I can hear the same melody from “The World Revolving” in one section of this song too........REALLY interesting.
Tumblr media
Same line as in the Jevil battle too....hmmm :/
Also what is “the power of NEO”? Second time this has been mentioned in the ut/dr series, and iirc Mettaton neo only shows up in a no mercy run? Really really odd stuff happening here
Tumblr media
And this is a new game over screen than the usual chapter 2 one! It also says “Please, don’t give up!” after this. I didn’t recognize the text’s voice either...and I feel like the music is slightly different? Not totally sure. If anyone else has thoughts on this let me know. I’m probably gonna be seeing this screen a lot though, Spamton’s hard lol but I still think he’s really cool
OH and after dying a lot (idk how many times lol) it says “Come on, that all you got!? Kris, get up...!” hm, still unsure who this voice is...maybe Ralsei? It’s high pitched but I’m not fully sure it’s high enough to be him speaking
Later addition #2: God that battle was unsettling. “Spamton begs to the audience. Spamton prays to the audience.” is such a haunting line. And the ending...man. Really creeps me out.
I have the dealmaker glasses now though so that’s pretty sweet. I wore the mannequin with Kris thinking it might do something in battle with him but I still have no idea what it does unless the effect was really subtle. If someone knows what the mannequin does I’d love to hear it. Also I hope we get to see the optional bosses again, I really like Spamton and Jevil...bring them back :(
Later addition #3: WOAH ok sounds like Spamton was making weird deals with Gaster?? Maybe Jevil was too, Spamton does mention a “clown” in his neo fight and he seems pretty upset with the notion that he is a “clown” so maybe Gaster is the one making all sorts of weird alliances with the secret bosses?
Anyway, all the shopkeepers left to gather outside Spamton’s shop in the trash dump and they’re all talking about him, it’s actually sad to hear his backstory...but the last one mentions a phone in Spamton’s room being left off the hook, and when they listened to whoever was on the other end they say “There was nothing but garbage noise.” which is similar to the “It’s nothing but garbage noise.” text that shows up when you try using the phone in the dark world. HMMMMM.
Later addition #4:
Tumblr media
ROUXLS KAARD!!!!
Also idk if I fully trust Ralsei (we don’t know much about him at all and when chapter 1 came out I read an analysis of him that compared him a lot to early-game Flowey so I’m suspicious of his kindness) but this boat ride was sweet.
Does Ralsei have a little crush on Kris?? I might have been reading into it too much, I’m bad at seeing this kind of thing so idk maybe he just wants to be their friend and feels all sweetly about that but he was very much complimenting Kris a lot and blushing a ton on this boat ride lol
Tumblr media
OH MY GOD YES IT’S THE MACHINE TO THRASH MY OWN ASS (almost forgot I made it bi pride edition LOL)
Also actual RK battle heck yeah!!!!
Later addition #5: Berdly has a crush on Susie. Oh my god. I guess that’s kinda cute that he likes her since she was actually genuinely nice to him but oh my god no. I will say that even though I didn’t like Berdly at first, his speech about being the “smart kid” was very emotionally resonant, I really feel for him and Noelle, and he seems like he’s got a good heart. But dude maybe don’t go after Susie (and maybe talk a little less too haha)
Later addition #6:
Tumblr media
DUDE this battle music!! This was a really cool battle omg
Tumblr media
Ralsei is starting to concern me, idk I’m still kinda suspicious of whatever is going on
Later addition #7: I love how the town now looks omg
Tumblr media
They’re all back!!! I love the music vendors :)
Later addition #8: Um so I got to the ending of chapter 2. Hm. I have to think about this for a while.
But I really enjoyed this game!!! I might boot up another save file so I can fool around with it more, but this was such a blast! :)

Prediction for Deltarune Chapters 2-7
 -Spoilers under the cut-
Chapter 2:A fourth player joins the team but it’s not Noelle, it’s Jockington (A Gunner) who only needed to get a pencil. There’s a second fountain in need of closing and Ralsei is concerned about the fourth member. Kris is still mostly sane at this point. Lancer returns but this time as a good guy and this time they fight in a town full of stuffed animals. They seal the fountain and the three return to the outside world. After defeating the boss of this world, Susie also shows Kris that she did her work some point in the chapter and Kris says that they’re starting theirs. Jockington makes a joke about how they might be a thing which Susie gets all angry at. Kris then goes home, learns omnisans secret, and works on the project for a little bit, tearing their soul out and mentioning that “you are not in control of me.” Chapter 3:Susie and Kris go to China town, literally, unaware that they’re getting followed by Catti (summoner). She was curious why Kris and Susie had been skipping class lately. She says she’s gonna tell Alphys about their behavior unless they tell the truth. When she tries activating her phone though, there’s no wi fi so she’s forced to play protagonist number 5 until the final boss. During their time Susie asks Catti if she and Jokcingotn are dating to which she replies,  with a maybe. Kris dosen’t like this and demands a yes or no answer. Ralsei reminds Kris that they are on borrowed time and that now isn’t the right place to fight. Upon returning to the light world, Susie notices a black spot on the wall but thinks nothing of it. Kris shows Susie the progress that they made in their project and as a reward Susie decides to award them by letting them see their home. During their trip to her house Asriel calls saying “Hey Kris! I’m gonna be coming home on Sunday!” Kris starts to cry at this statement.
Chapter 4:You want Noelle to be a protagonist now don’t you? Well here’s the Healer Noelle chapter you wanted. Alphys says that due to something happening the supplies cabinet is locked up. Susie is angry at this and demands Alphys opens it up but is persuaded other wise when Kris says “DO NOT OPEN IT, OR WE DON’T KNOW WHAT WILL BE UNLEASHED.” So Susie and Kris decide to just skip the darker world today until Noelle joins them and says that her dad needs help at the hospital. They fall down a medicine cabnet and find medicine monsters. Ralsei says that there’s no fountain here but understands that Neolle’s father is probably in need of the medicine so he helps. Through out the Chapter it’s obvious that Kris’ is acting...weird. Their soul isn’t there and you seem to lose control of them at times. While Ralsei finds this odd Susie is enjoying this and Noelle, being used to their bullcrap, ignores this. There’s also also a love confession scene with Noelle and Susie...which sadly does not go well, not matter what you do. After finding the medicine Noelle is depressed and decides that it would be best if she walked home alone. Susie thinks that she was kinda harsh and her and decides to make it up tomorrow. Kris is left alone to walk from home to here. It’s there they meet Sans, who has had his eye on them ever since they laid eyes. They talk about their natural distrust towards one another which is soon interrupted by Papyrus offering ravioli. DUN DUN DUUUUUUUUUUN. Also there’s a black puddle on the way back home and Toriel seems to be a bit unwell, BUT RAVIOLI INSTEAD OF SPAGETHI IS THE MAIN THING
Chapter 5:Berdly (inventor) is the last one to join team KSR. Ralsei, being Ralsei, tries to tolerate him but it’s very hard to when he keeps brining up science stuff. What makes matters worse is that they’re in the science lab. Susie thinks about how she’ll make things up with Noelle and she’s a lot more nervous then usual. Kris is still like they are in Chapter 4. Ralsei says that there’s one more fountain to be closed but up next is the strongest enemy they’ve faced so far so he’s glad that he brought Lancer along for the ride. Oh Lancer is there as well BTW, it’s 5 vs ? during most of the battles, except the ones in a specific part which is only Susie and Kris. After defeating the boss Ralsei warns Kris that even though all the fountains are sealed, there’s still danger. For the knight still walks alone and the angel is yet to be seen. Upon returning to the light world Berldy realizes how much of class he misses and hopes he can make it up. Susie talks to Noelle about what happened last night in the dark world and you don’t get to see if they make up or not. Upon the walk home, there’s a lot of worry and panic throughout the town. More and more people start talking about a mysterious dark spots in the town. Alphys reports to a local police lady that the world as we know it is going to end and Undyne gives her a big hug. Napstablook, chief police, says he’ll do investigating but when he steps over the puddle something interesting happens. The police hat he’s wearing turns into headphones. And when Kris steps over it they turn into their darkener self. The chapter ends with Kris threatening to stab the soul... Chapter 6:...But that doesn’t happen thanks to a restraint from Toriel. The town is in a panic. There are no visits to the dark world today. Kris calls Asriel who still says that he's coming over which is the only good news Kris head. No one is happy, well except Susie, who for once in her life time feels as though there’s nothing to worry about she’s got her side of the project done and Kris is almost done with theirs so they should be good. It’s at this moment the other classmates appear and talk to Susie and Kris about their adventures in the dark world and explain that Ralsei might have been twisting the truth a little bit in his prophecy. Berdly states that, upon doing some research, there was only supposed to be two heroes, a human and a monster and that if they were to seal these fountains the sky would turn black. Susie gets angry all of the sudden and demands that they find Ralsei and have him explain his actions at once. Kris though pulls the dagger out of their pocket and says otherwise and “you’ll have to get through me first, Suzy.” You play as the five other students in their regular forms and although they don’t have Kris’ dagger or abilities they had in the dark they do have their natural abilities. Susie asks what they hell that was about and Kris explains that they are not who is in control at all times sometimes -your vessel name here- takes over. It’s then your vessels pops out of your soul and reveals it’s form that you did. It doesn’t say anything and simply disappears. Suddenly Kris feels in control of their body again and lets go of the knife. Right now they’ve got one more thing to do, find Ralsei and the knight. First things first, Ralsei. After fighting tons and tons of bad guys, the six eventually find him near a forest and they ask him what Ralsei really wanted. “It’s quite simple really,” says the dark prince “I wanted you to be fooled by an innocent look.” In reality he was the angel that was to bring chaos to this land and before you know it, new home is covered in darkness. Everyone is scared now. People don’t know what to do and thus the gang has to fight him. Thankfully, he gave them their powers back. But first, the monsters must find the knight. Chapter 7:Leaving Kris behind they reunite with Lancer and decide to add him to the party one last time meaning it’s basically 6 against 1 and 8 if they can get the knight to side with them. It takes a little why but they do find out who created the Dark World at least “Dr.Gaster” whose from a parralel universe known as Undertale, which he can no longer return too. So he created this universe in his image with a few familiar faces and some new. However it seems that there was an error in his makings or something. The knight appears and fights Dr.Gaster, no matter how good of a fighter you are the knight will grab his soul and run off with it. However don’t lose hope. For with his soul came a hint to the knight’s location. Once they find the knight he asks “where is Kris?” they refuse to tell them their location and get into a fight. The fight is rigged for him to lose no matter what you do. He surrenders but still wants to know where Kris is, for only he and Kris can stop Ralsei. Ultimately they cooperate and each one goes and fights a boss from the world they appeared in but not by themselves. Susie gets help from MK, Temmie Alphys, and Snowy. Jockington gets help from Alvin, Mettaton, Napstablook & Undyne. Catty, Bratty, the blue bunny and Burgerpants help out Catti. Sans, Papyrus, and Rudolph help Noelle and Berdly. Finally Susie and Lancer get help from the Dreemurs and Gaster. Kris and the Knight have to fight the second boss before Ralsei before they can reach him. After that they reach Ralsei once and fight him in his new found angelic form. ZUN helps compose the music for the final boss themes and in order to defeat him you’re gonna need a lot of time to get him. There’s 3 phases, one of him saying that balance needs not be restored and that your’e the ones restoring the balance. The second is of him showing him the true demon behind the angel wings and with wings of familiar colors appear. Scars, injuries and a destroyed kingdom are all explained through this phase. Eventually it seems like the Kris is about to give up but then phase 3 happens with the most unexpected twist. “...No you can’t die now Kris.” he says “And why not?” they ask.
“...Because I haven’t even got you hot choclate yet.” After defeating the demon Ralsei once and for all the truth is explained to Kris. Asriel’s college is were he studies parallel worlds or something like that and the dark world here was a parallel version fo the light world. However Ralsei was sick and tired of balance all the time, he wanted chaos and disorder so he went and did just that. He eventually gets arrested and light and dark is restored again with hometown being a mix of light and dark. Ralsei is jail mates with King Chaos and Lancer transfers schools to go with Susie. She doesn’t get together with Noelle, but she’s moved on to a girl that she meet in the darker world. Undyne and Alphys get together. Omnisan finally tells us their secret. The dog finishes his game. Kris and Asriel go get that hot choclate and life returns  to usual. With Kris pulling out the soul again, but more gently...and setting it down in the cage saying “thank you.”

For as long as I could remember, Kris and I had been able to read each other's emotions pretty well. Which is good, I think, because I can't remember a time in my life where Kris wasn't a part of our family.
Our ability to read off each other was at its peak when we were younger; Mr. Holiday even used to call us Thing 1 and Thing 2. If one of us gave the other a side glance, it meant that the other had to do something. If one of us gave the other a nudge, it meant that they were the target of Mom's wrath. A tap on the nose? It meant steal the cookies, and quick, before Mom came back. For awhile, we were so good at it that a lot of people assumed that Kris wasn't able to talk. Everyone in Hometown found out that Kris could, after a very clever prank they conducted one afternoon during Vacation Bible School. No more Signing Time with Alex and Leah...
But when Mom and Dad separated, the light that was once in Kris's eyes started to dim. Everything about Kris seemed a lot duller. I had a hard time reading Kris- some times I still do, and I hate it. Mom always says that the separation wasn't our fault, but deep down, it always felt like it was. Maybe if we had behaved a little better so Mom and Dad didn't have to conflict over how to punish us, or maybe if we had helped them when they had needed it, maybe we would have all still been together.
Suffice to say, Kris wasn't the only one that changed.
It wasn't fair to Kris that Mom and Dad could no longer stand in the same room together, so I started to take them to the diner on Sundays for hot chocolate. We would stay there for hours- not wanting to be reminded that Dad would never come home or hear Mom say awful things about him. Sometimes we laughed and joked about the kids at school. Sometimes we cried. But even when it felt like our parents had abandoned us, we still had one thing; our adventures.
Mom taught the younger kids at our school, and since she was a teacher, she had a key to the school so she could get in whenever to set up the classroom. One day, Kris had managed to nab Mom's key and get a copy of it for us. It felt wrong, sure, but we soon had a place where we could play without anyone spying on us. The school had become a safe haven, even safer than the diner. I forget which one of us had found the abandoned classroom- but all I know was that it became our base of operations. If we wanted an adventure, that classroom was where we started.
The news of the separation still hung in our heads a whole month later. Mom could pretend that nothing was wrong, and Dad seemed to be fine. But me and Kris? It still felt like everything was wrong. We hid ourselves away in school, making our way to the abandoned classroom. Where else did we have to go?
“So, um...” I tried to start, if only to say something, “I started looking at colleges.”
Kris looked over to me with a horrified expression.
“D-don't worry!” I then tried to tell them. “I don't want to go far, and I'll come back when I can. It's just… it's time, you know? For some change.”
Kris still gave me that same fearful and betrayed look as they turned away. I was going to abandon them, they knew it, just like Mom and Dad had. I honestly wasn't trying to and if I had the power, Kris would have come with me.
When we approached the abandoned classroom's door, something felt… different about it. Kris was the one to try to open the door but hesitated.
“We don't have to visit today.” I reminded them. “We can come back whenever.”
Kris gave a small shake of their head. They had to visit today. We had to visit. So, after a taking a deep breath in, Kris took a firm hold of the doorknob and opened the door.
It was very, very dark inside and only getting darker. Kris was the first to step inside, I followed closely behind. The door shut behind us after we were far enough in, but neither of us seemed to notice. In silence, we walked through the darkness. It might have been a few minutes, or maybe a year for all we cared, but eventually the darkness started to fade away. Our feet were now treading on a dirt road with large willow trees at the side, blocking any sunlight that could have been seen. But there wasn't a sun here. There was never a sun in this place- only darkness.
Kris was now wearing light armor consisting of a silver breastplate, boots, shoulder pads, and gloves laid over a dark under bodysuit. Over their shoulders and covering one of the shoulder pads was a small striped cape. I, on the other hand, was wearing heavy armor created from pure obsidian. The large shoulder pads, torso piece, and tasset were all one part of the upper armor. My boots reached a little over my knees, leaving only my lower thigh unarmored and showing a bit of my under bodysuit as well. When our armor appeared, we never questioned where we got them or if we had even bothered to change before hand; having our armor on meant that there was an adventure to be had, and we were going to find it.
We continued down the road and eventually a small figure started to appear on the horizon. As we came closer, I began to realize that it was a human. Despite the darkness, their skin was noticeably pale and their hair near platinum. When we were close enough, my heart nearly skipped a beat; it was a girl. The Pale Girl (who Kris said I couldn't name or I'd get attached) stood there waiting for us at the end of the road. Her face seemed a bit smug, but otherwise expressionless.
“Welcome travelers.” she greeted with a half smile. “I see you made the journey well enough.”
“The journey is always easy when you know the way.” I coolly told her as Kris and I took a bow. Impressed, the Pale Girl gave a small bow of her own.
“Need I remind you,” she then said, “In this world, you must lose something in order to move on. It can be something trivial, or even personal, but when you leave it will stay behind as tribute to your journey.”
“I'm sure we'll manage.” I teased in return. Kris gave a nod of agreement. If it wasn't important, then we wouldn't be here.
“Very well.” she once more smirked. “Then you must find and slay the witch that ravishes this land. Only then will you be allowed to return home.”
Kris folded their arms with some skepticism. It seemed easy- far too easy. They looked over at me with a raised eyebrow. They didn't trust her. Of course they didn't.
“It's our only way home.” I reminded Kris. “We have to.”
Still a bit annoyed, Kris put their arms down and gave a nod. If they had to…
“Excellent.” the Pale Girl mused. “Follow me, for there will be many trials you must face before you can fight the witch.”
Kris gave me another look that was pure 'are you joking?' to which I easily shrugged off and started to follow the Pale Girl. With a small, kinda annoyed sigh, Kris shook their head and followed as well.
Time only seemed to stand still in this odd world. There was no reference for night or day, only how long it took to walk from one point to another. Even then, that seemed dubious at best when you swore that you walked past the same tree five miles back- right down to the apparent claw marks on the side of its bark.
“Here we are at your first challenge.” the Pale Girl announced to us as we approached a large wall. Made of stone and protected by magic, the wall was far too high for any of us to climb. Kris gave the wall a throughout look and walked a bit closer to it, gently moving their hand against the stone.
“What is it Kris?” I asked, moving closer to them.
Kris didn't look at me, but they pointed to a mural on the wall. The mural held three separate images that told a bit of a story: the first image depicted a small girl, she looked sad and lonely. In the second image, she came upon an older looking monster and seemed to be bargaining with it. In the last image, the girl had apparently gained magic powers -her hands emitting a dark glow- as a raincloud hung over the girl's head, depicting her sadness and power.
Below the mural was a message: 'When someone wishes to find something, they must first lose their heart. In order to pass, you too must lose your heart.'
Kris raised an eyebrow at the riddle. It took them a few moments, but in realizing the solution, Kris put a hand to their chest.
“Kris?” I wondered. “Are you alright?”
They didn't respond for awhile and only pressed their hand further into their chest. Then, in a motion almost too quick for me to notice, they reached into their armor and pulled out a locket. When I saw it, my heart fell.
“The locket Dad gave us...”
Kris gave a small nod while looking at the locket. The locket was made out of solid gold and formed in the shape of a heart- I have one just like it. Inside was a small picture of us, shortly after Kris had joined our family. On the outside, the words 'Don't Forget' had been etched on. The full phrase was supposed to be 'Don't Forget Where Your Heart Lies' but there hadn't been enough room. Dad had given them to us that Christmas, and Kris and I vowed never to part with them. But then again, Mom and Dad used to promise that they wouldn't part either…
“Are you sure?” I asked Kris before putting a hand on their shoulder.
Sure enough, Kris hesitated; their fingers wrapping around the locket tight. But they rolled my hand off their shoulder regardless, and placed the locket into the mural itself- placed in the last picture where the girl's heart would have been. With the introduction of the locket, the wall started to glow and faded away.
“Good work.” the Pale Girl said. “Let's continue, shall we?”
Kris gave me a funny looking look of mild disgust as we went on. We followed the Pale Girl further down the road- the sky slowly growing lighter as we continued, almost as if there were hope despite the overall darkness. She only made us stop walking when we came to a cave. Just like the wall before, the top of the cave entrance held a message for us; 'Those who take a sword will die from it.'
“Here we are.” the Pale Girl instructed us. “The witch is in that cave- go and defeat her.”
“We'll be out in no time.” I assured her.
The Pale Girl gave an amused snort. “I have no doubt about that.” she agreed. “Good luck.”
Good thing she wasn't actually there when we fought the witch. The witch in question did not seem human or monster, but nasty all the same. Using my obsidian sword, I was able to make brute, close range attacks while Kris used their bow and arrows to distract the witch. We have had enough adventures to know how to work together well enough- this just seemed to be the day where we all ended up rather unlucky.
The witch seemed invulnerable to close attacks, and the arrows Kris were using were made of the same element the witch was. Any attacks we made caused so little damage that it was practically a joke. At some point we decided to fall back and think something else out.
“Our attacks aren't working,” I told Kris, despite it being rather obvious by now. “We need to act instead. But how?”
Kris bowed their head as they tried to think of something. After a few moments of brainstorming, they popped their head back up and pointed to my sword. Confused, I looked at them as if they were nuts. But then it hit me.
“Those who take a sword will die from it...” I mumbled as I finally realized what the runes on the cave had meant. “I have to give her my sword in order to defeat her.”
Kris nodded. I gave them a wide, bright smile. Giving them a pat on the head, I told them happily, “You're a genius Kris!”
Have I ever mention how much I enjoy Kris's smile? Their real, genuine smile? I smile just thinking about it; it's that infectious.
Recomposing myself, I turned my attention back to the witch.
“Hey ugly!” I shouted at her. “Catch!”
The witch paid enough attention to see as I hurled the sword right at her face. She took a firm hold of it with her left hand, and for a moment, she paused. Slowly, she brought up her other hand to keep hold of the sword hilt. The sword's tip was only inches away from where her heart lied, and with one thrust, it was pushed through her body as if it were wet tissue paper. The witch then convulsed as her body cracked in several places- when she exploded into small bits of darkness, my sword went with her.
“I liked that sword...” I whined for a moment. And I had; made it myself far too long ago. Kris brought me back around, placing a hand on my elbow. I looked over at them and smile.
“Right,” I agreed, “We have to go tell her.”
And together we left the cave to greet the Pale Girl. She must have known that we had slayed the witch, because there was just… something different about her- like a curse had been lifted. The sky too seemed far perkier than ever before; it was like the sun had finally peeked through on an overcast day.
Kris knew what had happened right away.
“M-me?” the Pale Girl stuttered. “How am I the real witch?”
Kris glared at her. They indicated that she had given them clues throughout the journey; the riddle where they had to give up their locket, it had depicted the story of how she gained her powers. And the 'witch' that we had just fought? That was the one who had tormented her- essentially, Kris had pointed out that we had just done the Pale Girl's dirty work. It must have been true, because the Pale Girl stood straighter.
“You know nothing of the situation.” she hissed at us. “I did not seek to do harm, I only wanted to learn. But instead I lost everything.”
“Your name,” I carefully said, “You lost you name, not everything. And… it's Ausra, isn't it?”
Hearing the name, the Pale Girl looked up at me in shock.
“How…? I never told you...”
“You lost your name, didn't you?” I then asked as walked closer to her. “So you could have magical powers like monsters do.”
“Some.” she corrected. “Some monsters do. But this isn't the time to discussing that.”
The Pale Girl straightened herself up a bit more before saying to both of us, “What is done is done, and you have finished what I requested of you. The path home is opened for you two heroes. Thank you, and good luck.”
“What about you?” I asked. “We can't just leave you here alone.”
The expression she gave me was a somber, yet sad one. “I'll be here.” she promised. “When you think that you're alone, just know that I'll be right there beside you, even if you can't see me.”
One part of me knew that she was right, the other wanted to refuse and insist that she come with us. But Kris was ready to go home, so I gave her small nod and just left her there. The door back home was right there, so Kris and I went through. Before I closed the door, I took one last look at the Pale Girl.
Don't forget…
Kris and I returned to the school without any other fuss. I turned to look at them, and they looked at me. The look they gave me illustrated that they did not want to go home yet. Giving a small sigh, I put a hand on their shoulder.
“Let's get some hot chocolate.” I offered. Kris gave a nod, that would do for now. Anything to avoid the inevitable.

The Delta Crossroad (Part 4)
“Are you certain about this Frisk.” Omar ask, his yellow look at you worry.
“What other idea we have, we really need to stop Phimanity, There are aren’t just some Anti-Monster Organisation, there a crime syndicate, there just masking as someone who want to protected Human from Monster, but really they wanna kill those Monster.” You tell the him.
“You can’t tell what there doing is justice.” Deeni said with her blue dress.
“I know girl.” He mutter “It just, what are going do, go there and tell the head to stop this madness.”
“Well I here to give that person a right wallop.” Beat said, already gripping his gloves.
“Face it, they aren’t kind.” Siegfried said “We do need teach them a lesson, right Piri?” Piri node, her glasses gliming.
“And what about you two?” He ask toward Ai (who was fixing her bow) and Chara.
“Well I really care for Frisk well being and if they wanna stop, well there determined.” Ai said.
“And Omar trust me, I want this evil to stop as. if they something I don’t like with human is those who think there above consequences.” Chara said “And that Phimanity are really need to being down. It sickening.”
“And I want to know who’s the person behind that Organisation.” You said to your Human Friends. “After all, we don’t even know who run Phimanity.”
“That’s true, we only known that Helen Pta is just a spokeswoman, the so call voice.” Omar said.
“And besaid, do you any of you not want to lose some time over what Phimanity had done in some fallen timeline.” Chara said.
“That why I aren’t stopping ye, I want this madness to end too myself. Just wanna make sure we all in this together.”
“Well come on Asriel and Sans are waiting at us outside the main building.” Frisk said, As there lead on, full of determination.
---
When there got that outside the building, right at center of plaza was the yellow light, a save point. Where Asriel and Sans are waiting, Asriel is looking at the light, wild Sans is taken a nap a bench.
You and the fallen gang walk to the two monster, As Chara walk up Asriel given him a pack on the back, “Thank for setting up a save point Ree.”
“Hah? On right, Yeah.” Asriel said, sounding a little uneasy.
“What is it Zeta?” You ask him.
“Em... Nothing.” He said. Rubbing his neck. “Are we ready to raid a Organisation building?”
You walk up to the save point, hand touching the light.
*Standing to the building that being death of monster, in order to protected Humankind... or so it seem, as you here to end it lie and madness.
*You are fill with determination.
SAVE
“Ready.” You said.
As Ai move to wake Sans up. “oh hey. is it time?”
“Yes, have you got the shortcut ready?” She ask him. “yep, have it all map out. now hold on. I never taken 9 people across my shortcut before.”
You and your friend had hold there hand, as you follow Sans.
---
And you made on top of floor of the building, thank to Sans shortcut, they made to top in no seconds.
Each other took around, it seem to a long white hall, the glass having the Phimanity symbol on it, along with the metal like pillar. It almost remind you of Last Corridor, the hallroom that leads to the Throne Room in New Home.
“Okay, now that is just creepy.” Asriel said. “This Corridor just look close like the one from home.”
“I sure it just a coincidence.” Chara said. “There no way that base this Corridor from that Corridor.”
“Ah, you made it last.” Woman voice, echo the hall, then a echo of step, growing lowder. As the woman talking, shadow on right side, it was Helen Pta.”
“Helen.” You said to her.
“Frisk. Chara, Other Souls that I do not know. Asriel and Sans.” She said.
“hey helen havent seen from the p.t.a. didnt think you join anti-monster organisation”
“Never mind that, how do you know my name?” Asriel ask her, “We haven’t even met.”
“Oh right, I don’t, I really haven’t met you, Ree.” Helen said to her.
“W-Why are you... italicting the I?” He ask them.
“What?” You and Chara in unison.
“Don’t you hear her, she have her I italicized.” He said.
“Wow. You sure can tell, glad to know you still have ‘meta awareness’ going on?” She said.
Asriel was taken aback by what she said. This worry you, You look at the woman. You remind yourself on why you here. “Where is your boss? I wish to met them.”
“You wish to met my boss Frisk?” She said, even you pick up on italicized word, it starting brother you.
“Yes. I want to know the one that is behind the Organisation,” You said to her.
“The one that cost you some day to reload from what we had done? Right?” She ask you, you taken aback to that.
“how do you know about the reset lady?” Sans ask him, his left eye starting to glow.
“Hehehe. I don’t! But my boss does.” She said to Sans.
“I’m little surprise that you never notice, you’ve reload back that save point, and you never find it odd that those member haven’t play that part again.” Helen said to them.
You look at her, sure it did find it odd that act all difference for each reload, you pass as the FUN randomness.
“Wait, that mean, you boss is aware of the reset?” Chara ask her.
“Indeed. Psi. We saw what you and them had undone, mate make right, trying to keep your prefect world in check. I must applaud you.”
“What, How can you know and not know?” Omar ask her. “You said you didn’t know about reset and you saying that you saw what we had undone.”
“Good point Yellow. You quite a judge.” She said. “What I mean is that Helen doesn’t, but I does. Chiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii-heheheheheh.”
"Wait, you saying that you not Helen?” Deeni ask her.
“No. I am not, Blue!” She said. “I just using her for the time being.”
“Then who are you?” Asriel ask her.
“Let just say I am the demon that comes.”
You felt something from your soul, this from of fear and anger...
“Chara, are you okay?” Siegfried said, making you turn to see, Chara starting to freak out, given that unsetting small.
“Chara?!” You call rushing to them.
“Frisk, I think I know whom there are and who behind the nightmare that we been having.” Chara said telepathy.
It chick to you, never think that nightmare had something to do with Phimanity, you look at Phimanity symbol, that Red Phi.
“What do you mean you’re the demon that comes.” Asriel ask them.
“What do you think, absolute GOD of Hyperdeath! What do you think I mean?!” 'Helen’ said to him.
“Sans hold her!” You yell, As Sans pull her SOUL out, turn it blue, but her down in the ground.
As you and other besaid Sans run across Corridor, to the double door, as you open them wide.
“Who are you?!” You yell.
In the room, where a deck, in front was two red sofa with a coffee table, behind the deck, was a long sit looking away to the window, of a Red Deltarune symbol with the Red Phi right where the circle should be.
“You could have knock.” A voice said, your voice, from the sit.
You felt you eyes widen, you didn’t want to believe it, you just didn’t want too... “No...”
“Well, someone must not be happy to hear their own voice,” There said, as the person behind stand up, there hair was long, wearing a blue jacket, some that almost the same as Chara jacket.
There move, toward where the other could see them, facing them as they lay back on the deck.
“Greeting. I’m Frisk Crimson. But you’ll may call my Phi.” They said, they small like as crappy as Chara. There eyes soulless.
