Listen I don’t hate my wealthy friends. But it really is something to hear someone way outside of my tax bracket who invests in the stock market, just bought a hot tub today, complain about being so broke cause their last couple pay checks were shit recently. I get how awful the medical system is in the US but brother it would not take much for me to become homeless. I lose a few weeks of pay and I am out of my house with nowhere to go. I think I’m a hell of a lot closer to broke than you will ever be.

#how do I respectfully keep it real like genuinely #I nearly had to pay a fine today (thankfully got out of it) but if I had to I’d be going hungry this week so yeah.#this just makes me feel weird #reminds me how growing up my parents would point out how whenever there was some kind of charity drive #that we helped out with #the richest people gave the least. and the ones who had nothing sacrificed a lot #I even see this in my own family- I love them dearly but wealth genuinely corrupts people #like I know families who worry about putting food on the table scramble bc another family is starving #another family is aware of this situation- has more means- doesn’t give nearly as much. it’s just smth to think about #if I ever gain wealth I don’t ever want to become this
