#like I don't really take lore too seriously in the fanbase unless it's Pearl

I've watched Pearl's finale and wow. It was sad. She was so lost.
But a kind of sad I could deal with. It's a kind of sad that's rooted in love, and it's tragic and beautiful. I need a compilation of Pearl mourning her teammates throughout the entire series.
But also, this trully is the galaxy duo season. For me at least. (I still haven't watched Last Life) Her moments with Scott in the final episode are my favorites. They are so in sync. They truly are soulmates. They make me so happy.
And her final moments with Cleo, oh my gosh. It was so sad. Pearl lost Impulse and Gem. Cleo lost Scott. They only have eachother left with Ren.
Shiny duo on the other hand. It's interesting. Surprise how Gem wanted Pearl in the end. I still cannot be on Gem's side over the whole 1v2 thing nor the whole ender eye thing. But she was the one who wanted to be allies with Pearl in the end, much to Pearl's surprise. Me too Pearl, me too.
Like on the lore side of things,
I'm all up for the interpretation that Gem only likes Pearl when she's red. When she's hurt. When she's unhealthy. When she's lashing out on the world. I find that kind of toxic yuri interesting.
Lore wise, Gem doesn't fully understand Pearl (nor does anyone understand Pearl in general). She doesn’t understand how loyal she is to her day 1 allies. She doesn’t know the trauma.
In her official first season, she only got to know Pearl as one of the mounders, as her murder buddy, and as the feared Red Pearl. She didn't understand why she stayed so loyal to Scar.
Maybe when they both turned red was also her not being able to help it anymore. She wants to keep Pearl to herself even with how pathetic she is.
