im always like psh- psh you don't need canon to make a ship work

you don't have to pull from it at all you can really just make stuff up

they can never interact ever and you can just decide they do actually and thats fine!!

but almost every time when thinking of a new ship the first thing my brain goes to is

"what in canon can I pull from to make an argument that they could happen?? is there an event they share? a commonality in their lives that they could find relatable with each other? what moment can I extrapolate from?? When were they in the same room and why?? and what could i argue they felt about that???"

Like Pericus? that they both leave their families and Sirius doesn't really like Molly for obvious reasons.

Perclin? Percy would love the style of affection that Colin gives Harry so if there was a way for that affection to switch Percy would be into it and since Colin is Colin people complaining about him being invasive to Percy because he's a prefect/Head boy

Denperce? Both lose a sibling leading to them leaning on each other to heal and grow codependent.

PaperSeer? Boyfriends brother that's honestly really way more Lavender's type if the way Percy treated Penny is anything to go on and they could bond over their canon enjoyment of divination

Moody/Percy? Moody canonically having to deal with Barty jr. fits very well in my fanon Barty jr. wants to break his dad's new toy concept and they could bond over having to deal with him. Also he's friends with Arthur which is already 👀 Dad's friend is a trope for a reason

Literally any younger student/Percy my brain will go to puppy crush on the prefect/head boy because he did something to help them specifically
