“I have no doubt what a good nurse you’d be,” the director teased, huffing gently as he settled back against his pillow. Honestly he is glad nothing worse came from his accident. Yes he realizes he should have listened on set. His assistant Maya told him to use one of the stunt doubles even. He wants things to be as realistic as possible. When he’s dealing with a reimagining of a thriller Landon has to step up his game. “Well they’re gonna let me go in a few days. So that’s a plus. Cause I can’t stand being in hospitals.”

Lan’s told Aubrey about his Yellow Fever bout a few years back. Including a broken leg he was saddled in a similar position for in the past. Wincing at his full name coming off Aubrey left him for dead. Almost dead. He’d rather be yelled at than permanently out of commission. Still didn’t leave room to argue did it? She’s not telling him anything others hadn’t before he attempted the whole scene. At times Landon is too involved. Too hands on should never be a complaint from a filmmaker. He wants to make marvels not cash ins. He wants to expand horizons in every way possible and sometimes that means doing it himself. “I know, Bre. I’m sorry. I – know I fucked up,” the director’s apologies are sincere. Honestly the fact she’s worried over him makes him feel guilty. Nobody ever gave a good goddamn before Aubrey Summers came into his life. Wynter and Summer, the tabloids love tossing that out but it has a nice ring to it.

Landon smiled a bit now. Leaning up just a bit he reached for her hand. “Didn’t realize you were into medicinal couture. Maybe I should hang up the turtlenecks and get me some scrubs. “Mmm,” he hummed at her closeness. The very first time he felt alright. It’s better not to dwell on what ifs but he’s damn glad to be alive. Last thing he’d want is for Aubrey to find out he died in some freak on set accident. His hand shifted against her back as she leaned in, leaning his back against the pillow. His fingers curled around hers as she held on. It was a lifeline to him. She’s just that important. “Hey, it’s okay. I’m uh,” Landon paused, swallowing as his throat turned dry. “I swear it’s okay.”

Broken bones aren’t new. He’s dealt with a busted up leg in the past and it’s something he hasn’t even told Aubrey about. Considering it had everything to do with his ex? Yeah best not right now. “I was filming a scene on a roof. One of our sets.” Clearing that up he’s lucky it was a set and not an actual building or he’d not be here. “I had the angle set but it was a shot I was needed in front of the camera.
