Bluff Island Lighthouse

The sole inhabitant of rocky Bluff Island, this steadfast sentinel guides ships safely to the harbor at Brindlington. The 48ft octagonal white tower was built in the early 18th-century and construction on the outbuildings followed, including the attached keeper’s quarters—expanded in 1871 by keeper Everett McNaught. The lantern room is equipped with a third order Fresnel lens and the light characteristic is a white 5-second single occulting flash.
