I bought a new deck today! It’s “The Light Grey” deck tarot deck put out by a local art gallery called Light Grey Art Lab. If you’re from the Twin Cities area you should definitely stop in. It’s fantastic. I’m already in love with this deck. They brought together 78 different artists to create it! I also bought a journal there to start writing down my spreads and observations. 

Things I love: 

It is so refreshing to find a deck that has things other than waifish white people in it.

It comes with a small pamphlet with spreads and interpretations.

Each card has its own distinct personality.

Things I don’t love:

Turns out the pro of each card having its own personality makes it a little bit harder to read the overall picture. Probably not a great deck for beginners.

Tomorrow marks the start of the 2017 Young Mystics Tarot workshops here at Light Grey! Tomorrow night you'll learn about animals and familiars in the tarot. The animals in the Tarot serve as mirrors, foils, shadow-selves and symbols of inherent attributes of ourselves. They are hidden in the cloaks, the environments, or sometimes right out in the open in our cards, reminding us there are multiple facets to each situation, and more knowledge to be gained from their power.
