LIFESICK - Love and Other Lies

Formé à Fredericia, au Danemark, en 2015, le quintette Lifesick de death metal suédois a sorti un E.P 3 titres produit par Jacob Bredahl au Dead Rat Studio à Aarhus, au Danemark, mixés par Jacob Bredahl et masterisés par Brad Boatright à Audiosiege.

Des paroles inspirées de la nature turbulente de la vie tel que la dépression et la maladie mentale que le chanteur/parolier Simon Shoshan (alias Simon Sorrow) met en action. Cette agitation se retrouve dans les 2 titres de death progressive «Rude Awakening» et «Reverse Birth» renforcent la brutalité. Le titre « Every Unpleasant Emotion » vient titiller un folk ténébreux dans l’empreinte boisée de Me and That Man et King Dude. « J'écoute beaucoup de vieux folk et country américains d'avant la Seconde Guerre mondiale ; il y a juste quelque chose de réel dans la musique de cette époque ». Donc, pour qu'il s'intègre dans l'univers de Lifesick, nous l'avons peaufiné avec des tons et des couches plus sombres. Certains ont dit que cela pourrait être le thème d’une véritable série policière. » dixit Simon Shoshan

Deux invités rejoignent le groupe sur l'EP. Lifesick est un grand fan de Mark Whelan du groupe de death metal américain Fuming Mouth , et il a contribué à "Rude Awakening". Et Todd Jones de Nails fait rarement des parties vocales, donc Lifesick a été honoré d'avoir joué "Reverse Birth" et d'apparaître sur la chanson. " Nous sommes tous très inspirés par lui ; sa façon de rendre les choses si agressives et cela " jusqu'à l'os " la simplicité est quelque chose vers lequel nous penchons lorsque nous écrivons des chansons ", explique le groupe. " Nous avons toujours voulu l'avoir sur une chanson de Lifesick ."

Lifesick continuera de mettre en lumière les ténèbres.

Cabal

Das dritte Album einer Band stellt oft ein besonderes Momentum dar, da es nach den ersten beiden Releases die zukünftige Marschrichtung vorgibt. So kann bei der Kopenhagener Band CABAL definitiv davon gesprochen werden, dass sie ihrem Sound im Großen und Ganzen treu geblieben sind, es darüber hinaus allerdings geschafft haben, diesen weiterzuentwickeln. Wenn „Magno Interitus“ eines ist, dann kompromisslos! Das wird gleich mit dem ersten Song „If I Hang, Let Me Swing“ deutlich. Fans erwartet ein einnehmender, doomiger Sound, der eine schaurige Grundstimmung verbreitet und durch variantenreiche Screams und Growls von Frontmann Andreas Paarup ergänzt wird.
