I’m so excited cuz I may be getting an axolotl!

It’s currently at the animal shelter and seems like the owner passed away. I happen to have an empty tank big enough for it so yay

Didn’t realize they were so simple to care for, like other than the usual clean up stuff like I’ve already got the food, they don’t need a heater cuz they like cold water and my room always stays cool, and all I need to get is a good filter.

I was on a call with the IT guy cuz they’d just installed these new phones at work and I was having trouble accessing the voicemail to check to see if anyone had called us and left a message cuz I have to log that shit and he was like “press the button that has the like… uh… do you know what a cassette is?” and I’m like internally sighing like yes I know what a cassette is…

2/4 cats have prints now! I need to find some that look similar enough to Ten and Dennis so I can have one of each 💕

I found out today that mice will eat mealworms and fruits and veggies?? I would’ve given them more from the start if I’d known that, I swear I read somewhere that I should give them like, oats and millet and stuff.

Anyway they love the mealworms I got so that’s a new snack, they also liked the apple pieces I dropped in. Largely ignoring the carrot but y’know. You learn everyday and research isn’t just a one-time thing I guess, you gotta keep doing it.

Also learned more about axolotls at work so working on making my lil dude even happier.

I’ve got this malnourished kitten with me and it’s the second night it’s staying with me but it hasn’t improved and I’m afraid it might have to be put to sleep like its siblings

Had a little blood in its stool today, slightly prolapsed anus too… it’s like 5-6 weeks old and it can hardly lift its head up. Won’t really take to food unless I force it down.

Cases like these are really sad but it is what it is unfortunately. It’s not unique, it’s just how life is sometimes. Some lives can’t be saved and you just have to let them go. They shouldn’t have to suffer.

I’ll talk to the vets about it tomorrow and see what they think. We all want them to live but it’s not always possible.

I’m just happy my fosters are all healthy. Running around like crazy. Mom’s a pain in my ass (she stole my bread!!!). Might actually foster fail this time cuz one particular kitten has taken to me and my cat Tempura and the whole reason I started fostering was because I want him to have a playmate cuz Evey hates everyone and is too old to deal with Ten’s antics.

The others are adorable too don’t get me wrong. And this is my second litter I’ve fostered. But this guy stands out and he’s run up to me when I’ve come home… I think he’s staying with us.

Anyway that’s my week so far lol

I can’t sext seriously anymore it’s all a joke to me

My mom was trying to argue with me to stop fostering cats because I don’t have room and it’s unfair to my two cats.

A) There is plenty of room. The cats have more room than they would in a shelter

B) the area I keep my fosters are mostly off-limits to my cats anyway, even if they weren’t around

C) I give my cats their attention and playtime too. They aren’t being neglected.

D) the shelter is always so thankful when I take in cats and it warms my heart and theirs. I had a complete stranger who was there to adopt a dog say “bless you for opening your heart to them” and THIS is why I foster.

E) I’m not keeping the cats! That’s the beauty of it! I’m just a cat bnb! I get to play with the kittens and they’re gonna go to loving homes someday! And once they’re gone guess what? I CAN BRING HOME MORE KITTENS

Anyway here’s a brief video of the 5 kittens and mama cat I brought home yesterday. They’re so lovely and the mama is the friendliest cat I might’ve ever met?? The kittens are all boys so they’re my Five Guys lol

Once in 5th grade we had to fill out a time capsule and we’d look at it at the end of the year to see how much we’ve changed.

One question was “what are you afraid of?” And I didn’t really have a clear answer and I was mulling it over and didn’t have anything normal that I feared so I just put “dead people” cuz I don’t like zombies.

And of course that was the question I had to answer when the teacher asked us to answer our questions aloud and when I said “dead people” my class laughed at me?! Sorry I’m afraid of rotting skeletons Casey, what are you afraid of, gnomes?!
