We have a habit of naming houses after our dogs. In this instance it was the other way around. Duncan House was commissioned by Dr. Cloyce Duncan in 1959 and designed by architect Warren Callister. It took 2 1/2 years to build under a tent to protect the old growth redwood. Callister was onsite everyday. We are only the second stewards of the home and remain entranced by it’s quiet majesty. Over the past dozen years it has been a shelter and refuge for us and seven pups (Hubbell & Delilah on the 2nd slide).
