Cardassian Military Ranks

For anyone else interested in Cardassian Military Ranks, this is what I looked up:

1) Enlisted (usually called Trooper On Screen (OS) in DS9, subdivisions are from Extended Universe books (EU) which are not always in agreement)     ◆ Gorr (EU)⁃ Lowest Ranked Trooper, equivalent of a Landsman in age of sail Naval ranks, or a Private (E1 & E2) in modern military. Any of age Cardassian male can volunteer OR be drafted into this rank. Any of age Cardassian female can volunteer for this rank. 

2) Senior Troopers and Non Commissioned Officers    ◆ Garresh (EU)⁃ Equivalent of an ABLE seaman up to an officer of the watch, not really an officer but somone experienced in service. Majority of the Cardassian Military hold this rank.

3) Petty Officer    ◆ Gil (EU) ⁃ Ensign and senior NCO equivalent. Terok Nor boasted that there were enough life boats aboard to evacuate everyone down to this rank.

4) Officer (Officers recieve between 1/2 and 5/8 of any wealth gained from combat)     ◆ Glinn (OS Attested) ⁃ Equivalent rank of Lieutenant Junior Grade to Lieutenant.  Junior Wardroom Officer equivalent from the age of sail.    ◆ Dalin (EU) ⁃ Equivalent Rank of Lieutenant Commander. Senior Wardroom Officer.    ◆ Dal (EU) ⁃ No exact equivalent, this is a senior Lieutenant Commander. Senior Wardroom Officer. Usually the person holding the equivalent of a First Officer position in the Federation.    ◆ Gul (OS Attested) ⁃ Captain or Commander Equivalent. Senior non-flag officer. Always the highest rank on a ship or station, unless a flag officer is aboard.

5) Flag Officer (Recieve 1/8th of wealth gained if present at a battle)    ◆ Jagul (EU) ⁃ Commodore Equivalent    ◆ Grand Gul (EU) ⁃ Rear Admiral equivalent, highest purely military rank.    ◆ Legate (OS Attested) ⁃ Admiral, has political as well as military duties.    ◆ Gul-tar (EU) ⁃ Supreme Military leader. Highest Military Rank, answerable only to civilian powers and often only as lip service.
