What is Pediculosis or Head Lice?

Head lice (Pediculosis capitis) are a very common, itchy, highly contagious condition that often occurs in nurseries, day care centers, and schools. It is caused by infestation with the human head louse, Pediculus humanus capitis.

Neck

Moving lice or non-moving nits may be seen on the scalp and hair. Each louse is approximately 1–2 mm long and is white-gray in color. The white nits are smaller (0.5 mm), are firmly attached to the hair shaft, and are usually located very close to the scalp. Small red bumps may be seen on the scalp, neck, and shoulders. Occasionally, the lymph nodes behind the ears or in the neck may be swollen. Head lice infestations are quite itchy.

- How can you take care?

Search for lice and nits on wet hair using a fine-toothed comb.

Use an over-the-counter medication for head lice exactly as directed. These medicines are insecticides and should not be applied in greater quantity or more frequently than recommended. These medications are not recommended for children younger than 2 years old.

Wash bed linens, towels, hats, etc, in hot water, and dry them using the hot cycle for at least 20 minutes.

Vacuum floors and furniture used by the infected child.

Do not share combs, hair brushes, hats, towels, bedding, clothing, headphones, stuffed toys, or other items with someone who has head lice.

Treat the immediate contacts of the child also.

Consult a dermatologist if self-care measures have not successfully killed off (eradicated) the infestation who can recommend:

Permethrin lotion or shampoo

Malathion lotion

Lindane lotion, cream, or shampoo (not used as much anymore due to potential toxicity)

Ivermectin pills

Opinions: On Freelice

Like I promised, here's my post on freelice and the recent contoversies there's been with a Tumblr famous girl named Aly Antorcha. 

Um, to be honest, when I first heard about it I thought people were talking about some sort of product that kills those little bugs toddlers have in their heads, because that's the actual fucking meaning, free-lice, but apparently there's a whole new super extremely important meaning for it. 

Freelice is a type of blog whose only purpouse is to enlighten people who have obviously yet not realized the mischief and meanness of some Tumblr famous girls, such as Aly Antorcha, Felice Fawn, etc. Personally I couldn't care less if people are followed by 100 or 1000 blogs as long as their blog is a quality one. If I follow any blog, it is simply because of that. But there is nothing more annoying than having a bunch of fame wannabes bragging about their supposed thousands of followers.

First of, ask a freelice blog what is the difference between them and hate blogs. They'll freak out. They start making up stupid excuses and fail to convince not only me but themselves. I've had people answer me with 'you don't know anything about it'. Of course I don't know anything about it, that's why I ask you. Building a blog for the sole purpouse of showing people the bad side of a specific person's personality is owning a hate blog. Call it freelice, call it truth blog, call it liberty of expression, but it's a damn useless hate blog. So here's the thing about hate blogs: you hate a person on the internet you don't even know and spend your actual time to make a blog about all the bad aspects they have, so that others can also hate them and you all become a big happy hate community against a single girl who just happened to have a fairly visited website. Yoopidy-yoopdee-doo. That's just ideal, is it not? If you hate somebody that much, here's a piece of advice: don't waste your time, which is basically the most precious thing you pocess, talking about them. Don't give them that satisfaction. Do something productive instead. Construct your life instead of trying to destroy others. You think freelice will make any of those people change their mind about anything? Take a guess. If it's true that they have those many followers, you are one in thousands, what you say won't matter much.

What is also very funny is the arguments these people use to attact them. They take things they say and twist the information, taking it out of context to make it look horrible and worth talking about. Against Aly Antorcha, they took a comment she had done almost a year ago on Facebook, a joke with a friend, and made it look like a racist out-of-place conversation. They also used a screencap of a message she answered in which she said her mum was fat. Newsflash, for those who don't live in this century: everyone does that, not just her. Everyone has ever said something like "You look retarded" or something along those lines, and you know what? That's just as racist. And in case none of you have ever noticed, 99.9% of people on Tumblr complain about their family/friends/love life. It's not wrong, it's normal. Oh, and something else: if you think calling your mum fat is such an unforgivable insult, then you are discriminating. So shut the fuck up.

To round it off: close your blog and get a life.
