Legends speak of a hidden treasure inside the Library's restricted section. What this treasure is, no one knows for sure. Some say it's an item of great value while others say it's an item of vast knowledge but one thing is certain: it's an item of great importance to many cultures and people. Rumors speak of a grotesque and sinister creature that inhabits the Library, living deep within the confines of the Restricted Section, protected by a mysterious figure known only as the Keeper of Keys. No one who has met the Keeper or seen the creature has ever lived to tell the tale. Or so it is rumored.

The Library of Illusion is probably hands down one of my favorite universes I've ever created! The original collab was a passion project for those of us over at CoDNet and we had so much fun planning all the little details so everyone could participate. It was a blast. As I worked on my individual storyline, I knew about halfway through writing that I wanted to write a background story for both Hongjoong and Seonghwa. I haven't mention this before, but Seonghwa was originally going to be an angel but as I wrote, he started to transform into a vampire and from that, I knew I needed to explain how he became one. I still have to finish his prequel which will be split into two posts since the word count is getting longer and longer. But that's not all for the Library of Illusion. Once Hwa's prequel is done, I will be moving onto the sequel series.

you were taking notice of the scenery around you; the outline of the kingdom hazy from such a great distance. this place has become like your second home after many years of traveling. as a child, you were always a wanderer, so it surprised no one when you, as an adult, decided to go off and search for the ancient elven realms that only a few humans knew about.

the first time you met an elf was entirely by coincidence, and was the main reason you chose to look for more. hyunjin was his name, and he was the most ethereal being you had ever laid your eyes upon although you found all elves to be eerily beautiful creatures – hyunjin was different.

he had shoulder length dark brown hair, his eyes warm like caramel compared to those of his parents or the other elves, who looked more cold.

only one person truly knew about you and hyunjin, and she was the reason you were able to meet like this without constant concern for others finding out the true colors of your relationship. the two of you could only go so long sneaking around the kingdom, hiding together in the halls or stealing kisses in the library when someone could see you at any moment.

hyunjin knew that if the two of you were caught together like this, you’d be banished from the kingdom without hesitation and he would never be able to see you again.

you see, the elves had no problems with human visitors, nor even friendships. in fact, the royal family was once known for welcoming humans into their family; the queen had married a human decades before you or hyunjin were even born.

however, the times changed as the queen was betrayed by her husband, who stole one of the most treasured relics in the kingdom and killed many of the creatures who lived in the kingdom as he had fled. ever since then, no romantic relationships were allowed between elves and humans as they were believed to only bring wickedness and evil to the kingdom.

it goes without saying that ever since then, elves and humans alike had been punished for such relationships and although, for the humans the consequences were only banishment and shame, for the elves – the consequences were much worse. a true heartbreak would eventually kill an elf. this is why you needed a secluded place just for the two of you, safe from suspicious eyes.

a few months ago, you had approached the lady you had to thank for all this even being possible, aelvavorna, or aelva for short. she was one of the greatest wizards known in all of the realms, her powers stretched even to the human realm. however, even with such great power she preferred to help those in need and keep a low profile, right here in this kingdom.

the surprise wasn’t that you fell for hyunjin. practically anyone from the human realm would be mad not to pine after both his handsome features and his kind, generous demeanour. the surprise, in your mind, was that he somehow fell in love with you.

and aelva understood your relationship as soon as she met the two of you. in fact, aelva was glad to help the two of you; finding the rules of the elven kingdom when it came to elf-human love.

you vividly remember how she grabbed a heavy book and a small metal box from a table and placed them on the great stone table in the middle of the dimly lit room. “i have an enchantment that can create a safe refuge for you and your love.”

she explained the workings of the enchantment to the two of you and opened the metal box, revealing an odd assortment of rings and jewels, most of them old and tattered, and collected from where you'd never know. from the box, she selected a pendant with a dark blue, rectangular stone on a silver chain. she held it aloft for the both of you to see.

“whoever wears the pendant will be the one who can open the door, and who determines what lies inside,” she explained in a whisper.

“who will be the one to keep it?”

hyunjin took your hands in his without hesitation.

“will you?”

“yes.”

aelva fastened the pendant around your neck before pulling out the book of spells and handing it to hyunjin to hold open. she touched delicate fingertips to the pendant that hung against your collarbone, her other hand coming to rest on the book hyunjin held.

with the little light filtering in through the windows from the sliver of moon hanging high in the sky, aelva began to chant in a tongue you’d never heard before, reciting the spell she read from the page. you felt a quick surge of heat that made you gasp, and in moments, it was over.

she studied you carefully, a smile on her lips before giving her final instructions.

“the one who wears the pendant needs only think of what they’d like to find behind the door—a room, a country, anywhere—and when they turn the handle, that is the place they will find inside. only the wearer of the pendant and those that take her hand may enter; all others will not be able to find the door hidden in plain sight. but bear in mind, the pendant creates only illusion. nothing you find beyond this door is real, except for the two of you. but you will be safe here.”

you remember squeezing aelva’s hand, a tear rolling down your cheek. “thank you.”

“anything for true love.”

just before you left, hyunjin leaned down to kiss your lips with a promise. “i’ll meet you there tomorrow night.”

and so he did, not only the next night, but many, many more nights to come.

and now, in the shadow of an ancient tree, the last traces of sunlight were finally falling below the horizon, you watched as the streams of light glimmered across the fields, shining lights of green and yellow trailing behind them.

the tiny creatures living together in the elven kingdom illuminated the landscape as you leaned back against your lover’s chest, letting your head fall back onto his broad shoulder as you looked up toward the sky. his hand, warm and trembling, brushed down the side of your neck and shoulder, pushing the sleeve of your dress away so that he could kiss the bare skin underneath.

you sat between his legs, the smooth material of his dress shirt soft against your back, and you sighed as one of the fluttering lights bounced off a flower just a short distance away. you reached back, placing a delicate hand over hyunjin’s on your shoulder, and sighed. “i wish this could last forever.”

you felt his exhale against your ear. “so do i, my love,” he whispered before pulling your hand up to his lips for a chaste kiss. but alas, your time was running short. you both needed to return home, and if you weren’t back soon, you’d surely be missed.

hyunjin’s fingertips grazed the tiny flower buds he had carefully woven into your hair, placed just so to adorn you. but as the minutes dragged on, though all you wanted was to stay cradled in his arms, you knew it was time to leave the meadow and head for home.

hyunjin helped you to your feet and took up the bag you had brought with you, filled with delicious pastries and fruit, all the while, holding your hand tightly in his. as you walked through the meadow that was located on a far away hill, the glow of the grass and setting sun faded away behind you. it was only a short walk before you came to the door which was only known to you and hyunjin.

as if it had sprouted from the ground, the great door, seemingly wood and iron with an appointed arch over the top, stood in the downhill. as you stepped to the other side, you entered the same meadow that was connected to the kingdom, however, the huge door disappeared behind you.

a simple spell that hid you and hyunjin’s romance from the peering eyes of anyone else. you reached for the small pendant hanging on a chain around your neck and tucked it safely under the collar of your dress.

before parting, hyunjin wrapped his arm around you, his hand resting at the base of your spine, pulling you close for a languid kiss, slow and silent, neither of you wanting to let go. the danger of the kiss making both of you feel lightheaded. a breath passed as he broke the kiss, leaning his forehead against yours for only a moment, knuckles brushing your cheek. you exchanged no words, but you felt it, his love and passion that you returned tenfold under the cover of the kingdom now wrapped in the night .

you dared to stay long enough on the quiet alley to watch him disappear around the corner before hurrying the opposite way yourself. your heart full but aching.

more months passed this way, your rendezvous with hyunjin becoming more and more frequent. with this secret hideaway you shared, it was easier to spend time together, to crave each other’s presence in a place where no one could separate you. each time you met, hyunjin held your hand in his as you pictured the location you chose to visit on the inside. never did hyunjin make a request, even when you asked him to. it was his gift to you, he said.

“where to tonight, my love?” he asked, a dreamy tone in his voice that lit a small fire in some deep fragment of your soul. you wrapped your fingers around the pendant, concealed under your clothes during the day, and sighed.

you knew exactly where you wanted to go tonight. holding the thought in your mind, you reach for the emptiness, only for the door to erect out of thin air, turning the handle, the fantasy materializing in front of your eyes.

you found yourself in an unfamiliar room with a comfortable air about it. the walls and carpets were dark, rich reds and deep green floral patterns warmed the atmosphere before you. heavy wooden furniture was arranged just so, dark mahogany woods twisting in ornate patterns that looked like the roots of trees that had grown out of the floor. candles burned on the dressing table and a mirrored vanity, tossing shadows across the room, leading your eyes to a bed covered in velvety bedsheets.

“but this is—” hyunjin breathed.

“your bedroom. i wanted to see it.”

with the door safely closed behind you, you led hyunjin to his bed – the illusion of his bed – and sat beside him on the plush bedding. he dropped down beside you, running his hands over the designs on the blanket, an exact replica of the one he slept under every night.

everything in the room was exactly as it would be if he returned to his home at this exact moment. though it was almost uncanny to be sitting there, he felt a fluttering in his chest as he gazed upon you, your form against the backdrop of his most private space.

you, on the other hand, could hardly stop from observing the room, curious as to every detail, even if this was only a false vision of the real thing.

it was as close as you might ever come, and you decided to make it count. an urgency washed over you, the intimacy of peering into hyunjin’s bedroom overcoming your senses with a haze of lust. you reached out to his face, suddenly desperate to touch him, to feel his body, to be near him in the most carnal sense of the word.

you breathed his name before he took you in his arms and pulled you close, your lips crashing into his as instincts began to overcome him as well. this was where you belonged, in his arms, in his bed.

you opened up to him, letting your jaw fall open as he forced his tongue into your heated mouth, breathy moans and gasps escaping the both of you as your body rolled against his. his hands roamed down your back and around to your hips as you clung to his neck, both gripping the other as if you would never let go. clumsily, hyunjin’s slender fingers fumbled with the laces down the sides of your dress, messy in their desperation to remove the layers of clothes separating his body from yours.

“please, my love,” he whispered, hitching your breath in your throat as you realized he wanted you as passionately as you wanted him.

A Kiss and a Bit of Petting - 00Q

Written for the Collab prompt table and @starrboned who gave me the following prompt: MELY DO A 00Q!MUMMY AU

Q is not about to fall asleep.

He isn’t, really. He’s just… resting his eyes a bit, after the mildly unpleasant scene with Mr Bond, following the somewhat more unpleasant scene where the man had straight up picked him up — picked him up! Like he was a little boy to be carried around and man-handled at will by men who think of themselves as his guardian, or some such nonsense — and deposited him onto the bed. After, he’d had the nerve to lock Q up in the bedroom, alone he might add, and march off to do gods only knew what. Q is still seething at his presumption.

Although… if he’s being completely honest with himself, he is also a tiny bit impressed by the man’s strength.

Just a tiny bit. An almost nonexistent bit.

He sighs softly and thinks back on what happened in Hamunaptra. He knows he should regret reading from the Book of theDead, what with awakening the mummy with it and all, but the thing is that Q loves books and he couldn’t have resisted the urge even if he tried.

Which he didn’t, really, but he digresses.

Mr Bond really just needs to learn to forgive and forget, and then get along with the program again. Q’s certain that they will find a way to deal with their mummy problem sooner rather than later. (And hopefully find the Book of Amun-Ra while they’re at it. He really, really needs to prove those arrogant Bembridge scholars wrong.)

Truly, a bit of positivity never hurt anyone.

A slight frown crosses Q’s face when he remembers what happened at the library and how he didn’t have time to rearrange all those poor books that had ended up on the floor. Although, well, he does appreciate a good domino effect when he sees one. If only it hadn’t ended quite as badly for the books.

He’s so deep in his thoughts that he misses both the susurrus of the sand as it pours in through the keyhole and the way Imhotep breathes out the name of his dead lover, and he only comes to when the man—Can he be called a man any longer? He’s an undead mummy, and while Q would normally be more than interested in him, er, it, it’s a little bit different when the mummy is suddenly moving and talking and doing all kinds of honestly scary things like becoming a man again by killing the Americans and trying to kiss him for whatever reason—sits down on the bed and leans down to kiss him.

Q’s eyes pop open and widen almost comically when he finds the man, the mummy, actually pressing his lips against his, part of his face still rotting but otherwise looking like a proper human being again. Q cannot help the muffled scream of surprise and revulsion that escapes his lips as he does his best to push Imhotep off of him.

Why is Imhotep kissing him, anyway? Q’s never been under any illusions of being that desirable to other people, and now he’s suddenly got a mummy after him?

“Hey! Get your ugly face off of him!”

Mr Bond kicking the door open and rushing in, followed by Q’s brother, surprises the mummy enough for Q to have the chance to do the sensible thing; in other words, he scrambles off the bed and hides behind it.

He tries, okay? There’s not much one can do while in a bedroom with a powerful, undead being so near.

The mummy seems to have lost his interest in him, at least for now, and instead turns to face Q’s saviour. He says something that Q completely misses because he’s behind the bed and also because he sees what Mr Bond is holding.

“Look what I’ve got!”

It’s a beautiful white cat that Q immediately wants to go and pet, but the most surprising thing is still the way Imhotep shrieks and looks terrified of the poor little darling. When the cat hisses and Imhotep shrieks some more before turning back into sand, which is a rather interesting ability, and escaping the room, Q looks at Mr Bond and his brother and takes a breath. He feels more than a little silly now that the danger has passed, and Mr Bond asking him if he’s all right only intensifies the feeling.

He does know one thing though: he needs to go and pet the cat that probably just saved his life.

(And, yes, he needs to thank Mr Bond as well. But something tells him that that requires more than just a bit of petting.)

Goddess Forgotten

@divinexremembrance is hosting a fun little discord event where people take each others characters and revamp them as if they were their own. So basically how would you have made this character look if you had the basic idea for them. In the spirit of that idea, I took her character Nemesis. a goddess of time and space(that also day jobs as a librarian named Tori) and whipped up what would be the intro to her story if I had created the character. 

Ages ago humanity got sick of the Gods’ nonsense and sealed them away to be forgotten and weakened. Nemesis awoke in modern times, felt betrayed by humanity, but never able to completely isolate herself away from it because she loved them, and could even relate to why they did what they did. She tried to live a normal and quiet life as Tori, but she runs into Jacob, and gets pulled into a crazy plot of the other gods to create artificial humans that will worship them, empower them and remain loyal to them. 

This will likely be the only bit of this that I write as it’s a fun little collab event, so disclaimer, I offer no illusions that this story will be continued. This is just a fun what if?

 Tori locked the door to the library and ran through one last mental checklist to make sure she hadn’t forgotten anything. She assured herself that she hadn’t missed anything. The sky was getting dark and clouds heavy. She wanted to be on the way home before the storm started. 

 “You got everything, don’t worry, and if you did forget something can’t be that important anyway.” Tori nodded and left. She walked on autopilot. There was nothing she hadn’t seen on this route. The same buildings, the same places, less people than usual, but even that didn’t surprise her. The storm clouds cast a pallor over the city, muted the noises, and gave Tori an uneasy feeling. Well, she could hardly say that any quiet time she was left lone with her thoughts didn’t give her an uneasy feeling. She just focused on home, the ice cream she had in the freezer, and which show was up next for binge watching. Raindrops slowly dotted the sidewalk around her. She was halfway home, Tori wasn’t worried. As long as she didn’t stop for anything… Tori’s thought trailed as she slowed and stood in front of an alleyway. Why had she stopped? She needed to get home, but she couldn’t break her eyes away from the shadows. They seemed so deep, darker than they should be. She felt drawn into them. She stepped into the alley and felt as if she left the world she knew. Her feet just kept taking her forward, she couldn’t bring herself to stop, even when she heard the noises. Ripping, tearing, wet slops, and popping. The she saw it, hunched over a body. Tori just stood there. The thing didn’t notice her at first, content with its kill. She stared at its broad back, muscles twisted and deformed, limbs longs and misshapen with too many joints for them to comfortably rest as it ate. It paused, its head shot up and looked over its shoulder at Tori. No face, just mottled flesh, but Tori could feel it looking at her. Its head shook and flesh teared into a jagged hole that could barely count as a mouth. It turned to her and stood, its body popped and cracked as if any movement was constantly breaking whatever passed for bones for this monster. It slouched at ten feet tall at least. It stomach covered in mouths filled with jagged teeth, dripping with gore and bit of the last victim. It let out a noise that shook Tori’s bones and scrambled at her. Its gait awkward, the cracking and breaking sounds reached a crescendo and it leapt at her, arms out. Time slowed as Tori watch the creature go airborne but fall short of her by a foot. A man held desperately onto its legs, and acted as an anchor to short the leap. 

 “Lady, run!” He shouted as the monster bounced and kicked to break from the man’s grip. Tori snapped out of her daze. She ran, not away, but to the thing. It reached out to her, still only concerned with the kill. Its arms whipped around at her, Tori caught them both and sunk her fingers into the flesh. The creature understood things were going wrong, it struggled to get out of her grip, but it was useless, with one swift pull Tori ripped its arms from the body and tossed them away. The man scrambled to monster’s back held a metal baton high and bashed its head in. He kept smashing until there was nothing but a viscous black goo left on the alley floor. He stood up and dusted his coat off. He looked to her. A knot formed in Tori’s stomach, what would he say about her dismembering this thing?            

 “Holy shit, thanks for the assist. Wouldn’t have faulted you for turning tail and running.” He crotched down and looked at the stumps where the monster’s arms had been. “Adrenaline’s a bitch. Knew the joints were weak, but I still wouldn’t had the balls to try and just rip the bastard’s arms off. Nice.” He gave Tori a quick thumbs up. 

 “Yeah, adrenaline… What the hell is this thing?” Tori shifted focus away from her. 

“Better question, where’s Mr. Big Hand?” The man looked around the alley, he walked out to a T intersection to another alley. 

 “Who?” Tori asked as a giant clawed hand slammed into the man and pinned him against the wall. The claws speared the brick, and the man struggled with one clawed finger in his chest. Another creature shuffled into the alley. This one a bloated tumor of a thing, that dragged its body along the ground by its hand. Tori grabbed tendril that attached the hand to the body. She pulled at it but it stretched and gave in her grip. It was like rubber. Tori stepped back, looked at the man writhing in pain on the wall, and shook her head. She’d have to do it. She held her hand out and space and reality flexed and tore the tendril in two. The one half whipped around spraying black ooze every where. The tumor just sat there with its wound now. Tori grabbed a dumpster by the side, lifted it above her head with ease and hammered it down onto the tumor. Flesh, ichor, and garbage mixed into a disgusting paste and once Tori was sure it was done she dropped the dumpster and ran to the man. She grabbed the hand.

 “This is going to hurt.” She warned.

 “Already does.” He grimaced. 

 Tori positioned her hands to try and pull the claw back as straight as she could. So it wouldn’t rip a bigger wound into the man. She pulled the hand loose and caught the man as he slumped down the wall. A trail of blood smeared behind him.

 “I’ll call an ambulance.” Tori said.

 “No, no ambulance, no police. I’m done either way. Thing nicked an artery, my heart’s going a mile a minute. I’ll bleed out before they even get here. Listen, be smarter than I was, go home and forget this shit. Me, the fucking monsters, just pretend it was a bad dream. Trust me on this.” The man’s breaths became ragged, his eyes glazed a bit, and blood soaked the front of his shirt and coat. The weather finally broke and rain poured down onto them. 

 “Well, ain’t this a picturesque way to kick it? Heh.” The man grimaced. Tori knelt down and put her hand on his shoulder to offer some comfort. 

 “Listen, lot to ask of a stranger, but you saved my ass twice, so you seem like good people. Could you stick around? Won’t be long now I promise. I’m, just a bit worried. I’m a real piece of shit. Don’t think I have a good place waiting for me.” 

 Tori leaned in and kissed him. 

 “Thank you.” She said once she broke the kiss.

 “For what?”         

 “You came to save me.” Tori smiled.

 “Oh, well, think you could’ve handled yourself, but thanks Angel, could use all the good karma I can get right about now…” The man’s head dropped. Tori held her up to his mouth. He was still alive, but barely. His breaths were shallow, it wouldn’t be long now. Tori stood and looked back to the entrance of the alley. She thought about the man’s words, just leave, forget it all. She considered heeding it, but she looked to his slumped body. She held out her hand to him, the rain drops caught in the air as she bent space to her will one more time.

 Jacob jumped up and looked around. Where was he? What the hell was going on? He scanned the room. It was a bedroom. He was in bed. Not his motel, much nicer, and a lot better than… dying in an alley.

 “Ok, something weird happened. Not enough fire to be Hell, but thought Heaven would be nicer.” Jacob said to himself.

 “You’re up.” The woman from last night walked into the room.

 “Never mind, must be Heaven. an angel’s come to visit.” Jacob smiled.

 “Or I’m just a demoness here to punish you.” She teased.

 “Well I’m into that too so win/win.” Jacob shrugged. He noticed the bandage on chest. He ran his fingers over it, “I have a lot of questions.”

 “Breakfast first.” She commanded. Jacob hopped out of bed. He put his shirt back on and looked around for his coat. He headed into the living room. He looked around. He knew this was an apartment if only due to the size. Shelves covered the walls, statues and art all through the place. 

 “Art lover?” He asked.

 “Oh? Just thought they classed the place up a little.” She said as she set a plate down on little island counter in the kitchen.

 Jacob caught sight of his coat hanging by the door.

 “They’re all still there.” She said, “You carry a lot of weapons.” 

 “In the habit of running into some unsavory characters these days.” Jacob said offhandedly. He wanted to check his coat, but the smell of eggs and bacon won out over his paranoia. He sat down on the stool on the other side of the island, grabbed a fork and dug in. “Oh god, these are the best eggs I’ve ever had.” Jacob said between mouthfuls.

 “Nothing special, but thank you.” She stood there and watched him. 

 “Oh, assuming you didn’t go though my wallet for ID. Jacob Cross, private investigator.” Jacob held out his hand. 

 “Tori.” She shook his hand.

 “Just Tori? No last name? Very avant-garde.” Jacob joked, but Tori didn’t take the bait. Jacob inhaled the rest of the food and set his fork down on the plate.

 “Well Tori, elephant in the room, why aren’t I dead?” Jacob kept his eyes on her, looked for any twitch or change in body language, but she was good, not a flinch. Jacob made a note to not play her in poker any time soon. 

 “You weren’t hurt as bad as you thought you were, I brought you back here and stitched you up.” Tori said.

 Jacob could remember his blood pumping out of his chest, he knew an arterial bleed when he saw it. 

 “Well, nice to have a Guardian Angel.” Jacob ignored her lie for now. His life got stranger by the day since he took that damn case. “So, any questions for me?” 

 “Are you well enough to leave?” She cocked an eyebrow.

 “Ouch, Tori.” Jacob held his hand over his heart and feigned insult. “You’re taking this in stride much better than I did.”

 “Just taking your advice, and forgetting this shit. Your shoes are by the door.”  

 Jacob laughed. Well, he couldn’t argue against that, but he needed to get some more answers before he’d let her kick him out. He stood and walked over to Tori. 

 “Yeah, I get that, but I can’t leave until I clear up a fews things.” Jacob took his intimidating stance. At 6’4” he normally had enough height to get that good condescending look down, but Tori was too damn tall. He only had a few inches on her, and he had the feeling this wasn’t going to work. She gave a wry smile and cocked her head to the side to consider him and then just grabbed him under his armpits and lifted him off his feet like nothing. Jacob struggled a bit but couldn’t shake loose as she carried him to the door and dropped him on his feet. 

 “Shoes, coat, door, go.” She pointed to each one respectively as she spoke. Well, this made the whole dumpster scene he recalled seem less likely to be a blood loss induced hallucination. Jacob held his hands up in defeat, got his shoes and coat on. The familiar weight of his guns and tools made him feel better. He opened the door and took a step out but paused.

 “One more thing,” Jacob turned back to her.

 “What now?” Tori crossed her arms and tapped her foot. Jacob leaned in and gave her a quick kiss. She was more surprised than angry, thankfully, and it served as a good enough distraction for him to palm a piece of mail sitting on a table near the door.  

 “What was that for?” 

 “You saved my life.” Jacob shrugged. Tori pushed him out the door and shut it in his face. He leaned his ear against it and could hear her on the other side.

 “That man’s going to get himself killed again.”

 “Not if I had some help!” He shouted through the door. 

 “Leave already!” Tori yelled as she hit the other side of the door. Jacob jumped back from the impact. He stepped away from the door to make sure she didn’t catch sight of him in the peephole. He looked at the mail he stole from her. Her full name there on the front.

 “I’ll leave for now Angel, but I don’t think we’ve seen the last for each other.”

This collab was originally started in the Cult of Dionysus network and was a collab for members only. With the network shutting down, we have opened this collab up for all atiny writers to join! The basic rules of the original collab still stand but anyone can participate now. There are no deadlines, no obligations, no word count maximums. You can write whatever you want as long as you follow the guidelines and rules.

The general plot is this: Hongjoong is a demon, bound to be trapped in the Library of Illusion for all eternity. To pass the time, he uses his power to spread rumors of the Library being home to a rare treasure to try to entice humans to come from all over.

One such human is Y/N who is down on their luck and thinks they don’t have much to lose. They comes to the Library looking for the fabled treasure. Inside they meet a man named Seonghwa who introduces himself as the Keeper of the Keys. He tells them to find the treasure, they must first access the Restricted Section but the only way to do that is to find the keys which are housed in each section of the library: Science fiction, horror, history, mystery, fantasy, and adventure. In each section, Y/N is put in a dream-like sequence where they meet the Guardian of the section and must obtain one of 6 keys. In doing so, they are unknowingly marked by each of the Guardians, which are like an extension of Hongjoong. When Y/N gets the final key, they return to Seonghwa who says they now must obtain his key. He also marks them and they are finally able to enter the restricted section and in doing so, the marks free Hongjoong and he appears before them. Y/N learns the truth: there is no treasure and that it’s just a ruse to lure humans to the Library. Hongjoong then seduces Y/N and ensnares their soul. This releases the marks and the cycle repeats. It’s a game for Hongjoong. Something to pass the time.

If you would like to participate in this collab, here are the rules:

☛ Hongjoong is always in the Restricted Section (topics vary in this section, so just pick something considered taboo/forbidden/etc. His story is meant to be the ultimate fantasy. Self indulge if you'd like). ☛ Seonghwa is always the Keeper of Keys (as he's not in any particular section, he's free reign. Want to make him a tentacled beast? Go for it! Want to make him a human-like android? Go right ahead. As the Keeper of the Keys, he's whatever you want him to be). ☛ Yunho is the Guardian of Science Fiction ☛ Wooyoung is the Guardian of Horror ☛ San is the Guardian of History ☛ Jongho is the Guardian of Crime // Mystery ☛ Yeosang is the Guardian of Fantasy ☛ Mingi is the Guardian of Adventure You may change the order in which Y/N visits each section except for Seonghwa & Hongjoong. Their stories are always second to last and last, respectively in that order. Y/N arrives at the library and meets Seonghwa. They enter each section & meet the Guardians (order up to writer). Seonghwa's story Hongjoong story/ending The ending is always Hongjoong ensnaring Y/N's soul/trapping them in the Library. Must be a bad ending so the cycle can continue and the loop occurs.
