ABOUT.

Liam has virtually always made sure to fly under the radar, and not give attention to himself. Even when he was born, he didn’t come into the world alone, but rather with his sister by his side. He never cared much for the feud that his family was involved in, but it wasn’t like he had much of a choice. 

The quiet one. That’s what he was always referred to as. A kid that didn’t demand much attention, nor did he need it. It was almost like he faded into the background, except when he didn’t. Liam had trouble controlling his emotions. If someone said something about him or to him at school, he ended up throwing his fists at them. He was never good with words or expressing his emotions, but fighting, fighting was something that he was good at doing to express how he was feeling. He had a tendency to egg people on to talk shit or hit him first, just so he could finish the fight. 

He wasn’t sure what he had done to deserve someone like Olivia Walker in his life. It didn’t matter that she was a Walker, that never mattered. But maybe that’s why he felt a thrill when they first started hanging out. For once, he didn’t feel a depth of anger inside of him. She calmed him, whether she realized that or not. Even at a young age, she felt like his person. The one. He’d fight fires for her if he needed to. She made him smile, she made him feel like he wasn’t just a Byrne. 

At least with Maeve gone, he had her. And then she was gone. Just like that. He felt empty once more. He no longer smiled, he retracted into himself even more. He had tried to distract himself with other women, getting deeply involved in the auto shop, and joining a not so secret fight club. At least then he could take his anger out. 

Was he the reason why people left? Between Maeve and Olivia, Liam couldn’t help but blame himself. Maybe he had pushed them away. Maybe he was too much. Maybe he was too little. But he’d push his emotions down more, concentrating on the shop. At least there he felt like he was needed. Maybe he felt like he was doing something meaningful with his life, helping people with their cars and bikes. He’d much rather be around cars anyways than humans. Humans hurt. 

He still hasn’t processed his father’s death. Yes, they disagreed about a lot, but Ronan was still his father. The only good thing that came out of it was Maeve returning home. 

He still thinks about the night that he and Olivia had the night her own father had passed. Holding her felt like home, not that he could express that. He’s not sure what they’re doing but he knows that he cannot get attached again. People leave and he’s learned that the hard way. Instead, he’ll do his best to focus on the shop and the never ending feud that seems to amping up.
