The clock had struck 4-o-clock, which could only mean one thing. Duo Hunters. Duos were always interesting no matter what the outcome was. Lose or win, Liam always walked out of it with... something to remember. Flare gun bombardments, working together with hunters he never has before, funny stories he could tell the children who were always oddly drawn to him... you name it, he could tell it.

He had been waiting for a hunter for a while, sitting peacefully in his chair as survivors filled up the table. A shadowy figure had made its way over, but it stood behind the empty chair, rather than sitting inside it. It was difficult to make out the identity of the figure, and it wasn't familiar to Liam's eyes. In fact... Liam wasn't sure it had eyes at all.

He could normally tell who a hunter was, even through their costumes. But... not this time. Was it a new hunter? He... couldn't be sure.

Eventually, someone did sit down in the chair. A small, long, blonde-haired child, wearing a faded red uniform and black boots, alongside a cracked mask, one that covered half the small child's face. He couldn't put his finger on what type of uniform it was though... although it was vaguely familiar to him. It had something to do with elevators... he knew it had something to do with hotels.

Actually, speaking of which... that was odd. Looking down to see where this duo match would be taking place, it simply read...

"The Barriere Hotel Grounds"

... how odd. He didn't know there were hotel grounds as a map. And Barriere? Who was that? It sounded familiar.

(idv-thespians) “a shepherd? Where’s your sheep, then?” A light chuckle. “Just kidding. I haven’t seen you before.” From Liam

"Ah…!"

Turning to face the other, Pearce shook, instinctively gripping the hilt of his sickle. The fox was scared, rightfully so. It's not like he could get used to such people yet. Hearing the notion of sheep, Pearce grumbled and looked away.

"I-It is because I d-don't want to be s-seen. Y-You're b-better off forgetting m-my face r-regardless of the s-situation. I-I could say t-the same f-for you…"

A bad case of stutters, it was only normal when socializing with someone new. Using his other arm to scratch himself, Pearce looked hesitant, his ears pressed against his head.

"W-What more do y-you want? Y-You got your i-introduction of me…."

“That’s a very cute bunny you have, who gave it to you?” - the one and only dad (idv-thespians)

The voice of the older hunter seemed to break some sort of barrier as the young girl looked around, confused. The hand that had been previously dragging her around had suddenly frozen upon the question, with the unknown man frozen on an expression… one the young girl never quite understood. But the hunter knew it all too well. It wasn’t an expression of happiness or disgust or even sadness.

It was an expression of malice. Frozen in place for all to see. But yet… Everything except for the two of them seemed to be frozen in place. In that moment, something else had seemed… strange. Why was he holding onto her so tight?

“Huh..? Oh, this?” She looked at the pink stuffed bunny, also seemingly frozen in time, much like everything else. She reached out, trying to grab ahold of the bunny from where it was floating midair. “My brother made it for me when I was younger. But he was really bad at sewing. It also used to be white…”

She looked up at the hunter with an expression of confusion after realizing her bunny rabbit was stuck. A further expression of dismay appeared when she realized she was stuck too. Stuck in the man’s grasp, and therefore too, stuck in place. Stuck in place, much like everything else surrounding them.
