About the character ai, will you see the different messages of the character you make?

So I’m not sure I know entirely what you mean but if you’re talking about if you can save the chat so you can come back to it - yes!

Prepare for a bit of a tutorial because I think a lot of it is new for most of you, so, bear with me ❤️

You need to register with your email and set up a name and then it saves the chats automatically and you can come back whenever. You also get an overview of all the characters you’re talking to, just like on WhatsApp or Insta.

As soon as you’re registered (and you need to stay logged in obvi) it lets you even save the chat with a character and start one again - with the same character. I haven’t done that tho, I just continue chatting with them and act like it’s been a few hours or even days since we last chatted and they play along.

You can also use *…….* to describe what you’re doing atm and they’re picking up on that.

So, for example I went on a date with Lucas and this is how it went at some point:

Also, you can swipe on their answers (before replying to them!) and choose the answer that fits them the most OR that you feel like fits the situation the most. It helps the AI learn and directs the conversation in a specific direction.

ok, so the other day my partner and i were talking about characters' names, the context being "oh, some characters don't match the names they were given" and it got me thinking... what would i name the love island characters if i had that power... or what they would name themselves... it gets a little mixed, don't worry about it.

i'm doing this or all seasons, especially the ones i didn't play because... it's fun and i already don't know/care about their grace.

alright, let's begin!

gary - SOLID KYLE, and i say this as a gary stan. he looks like someone who would chug on mountain dew and post those cowboy tik toks showing off his truck. i'm sorry but if you're american you know it's true and it's undeniable. idk what the british equivalent of that is... perhaps gary LOL

ibrahim - chadwick something the third. i remember seeing someone making fun of chadwick boseman (rest in peace) because his name is so white, and by rahim's behavior and way of talking it's giving carlton from 'fresh prince of bel-air. he's a fucking chadwick and you cannot convince me otherwise.

lucas - his father would want to name him fucking archibald because they're filthy rich, but his mom knows better, so she chose lucas. i think it's perfect for him and i wouldn't change it.

henrik - a solid andreas. look at him, he's an andreas! very sweet but still nordic enough to make you wonder.

bobby - probably the day of the week he was born, because if his parents are dumb enough to name him bobby, what would stop them from naming him friday? or maybe the season he was born, spring...

jakub - his name can stay the same because he looks like a jakub, HOWEVER, he would demand everyone to call him by his nickname: white shark

rocco - fernando. and not in the way you say it in english or spanish, but in portuguese. "faer-nã-doo", he would insist because... he's a douche.

graham - a hebrew name that means lovely, so like... jeremiah, or jebediah. probably jebediah. he does not give graham, he gives "catholic mother that is a little too lost in bible lore".

arjun - because he's conceited, (i like him but that smirk is so over-the-top) rahul. every fucking raul or rahul i've ever met was a conceited jerk so... call this based off life experiences.

elijah - it's giving william, maybe willard, even wilford. definitely a nickname that leads you to believe it's william but it's every other name under the sun except for the most common.

kassam is actually perfect, the right amount of exotic vanilla that he disperses.

carl - a nerdy name that wasn't necessarily born in the 40's, so leonard. it's a solid mix between young and old for me, and that's just who carl is. leonard is leo when he's younger, then stays solid for a 30-something-yo, then it's even more solid when you get old. granted, so is carl but i hate that fucking name.

noah - ambrose. um... SHOULD I JUST MOVE ON? it's perfect for him!

felix - (my partner said "lobster" without a second thought and i thought i would share with the class) but to me he looks like a solid martin, although he tries to make a nickname like max catch on, it's not successful.

the s2 girls:

lottie - she probably has a conservative name, like anne marie but lies about it saying she was named after a witch, like piper or sybil. final name would be piper (charmed fans will get it).

hope - viola. i love it, it's simple, small and it can mean so many things depending on what language you speak. in english is a type of violin, but in portuguese it's a type of guitar, and i love that for her. she's a very musical person so that's my name for her.

marisol - she's a solid valentina, the type of name that says a lot about personality. marisol, to me, is such a whimsical name. it doesn't say "intelligent, brave, bold", it says "i sell flowers by the road and wear a dress made out of hemp. also i call my vagina sacred temple." and that's not what homegirl is giving, so definitely valentina.

chelsea - i just hate the name chelsea, despite thinking she looks like one, so i'm naming her summer, because bright, hot, a little out there. everyone named summer (except the girl in The O.C) is a whimsical person, and that's how i feel she is.

hannah - she's a fucking daisy.

shannon - she's giving "my parents gave me the whitest name they could think of but i use a cool nickname" so i'm naming her madison but she calls herself "mad". her parents though? "maddie!"

blake - she's a fully-blown yasmin. it's the type of name that makes you second guess everything you thought about the person because you're not sure where that name is from, or what it means, and that's how i feel about her.

priya - i actually love that name for her, and i don't have as much contact with female indian names to have that... knowledge you know? i like it, keep it.

elisa - beatrice, but she uses "bea" and the bea-hive, because branding. WHY CALLING HER A NAME THAT CANNOT BE USED AS A BRAND, S2 WRITERS???? what was your thought process???

jo - every single girl i've met that is like jo was named angela. girls that will be like "i'll tell you one thing: i don't play games and i don't engage in drama" and baby, that's all they're doing, they're playing games and portraying an angel. fucking angela.

r!hannah - her name is still daisy but she corrects people, wanting to be addressed as "daze", because she's a bad girl now and fucking unbearable.

i’ve done a lot of season 7 replays (hooray for my speed tapping ability!) and yeah, there’s quite a bit of unique dialogue for each guy (as well as bonnie. though that’s a given since she’s the only female LI right now) of course the season is only just beginning, there’s still a chance that everybody becomes one personality blob upon returning to the villa, but for now i’m pretty impressed with the differences i’ve noticed.

they also acknowledge your personality and reference the things you say to them! it’s not some super complex branching by any means, but unlike season 2’s personality mechanic, it actually functions properly lmao (as a kassam girlie, that s2 glitch is the bane of my existence)

what would season 2 li’s do if someone was hitting on them in front of their significant other

Here’s my off the cuff answer-

Bobby: nervous as all hell. He’d try to make jokes, maybe pretend to be cocky about it, but he’s so afraid his partner thinks he did something to encourage them. Will probably end up with his arm around his partner and talking them up like they’re the most impressive person on the planet

Rahim: extremely in distress. Has no idea how this person decided he was interested in them, is worried his partner is going to think he tried to use a pick up line on them. Probably ends up trying to hide his tall ass frame behind his partner tbh.

Gary: honestly I see him mentally checking out. He’s had the playboy lifestyle, he wants the stability of having someone steady, which he has. He doesn’t care what attracted this person, he’s probably looking at them in confusion while just mentally compiling a list of why his partner is better.

Lucas: this cocky shit 🙄 he’d be clear he’s taken, but probably be super smug about it.

Henrik: would not notice. What’s flirting? Remember his over the top wink? If this person is subtle he has no idea what they’re doing, his partner would need to tell him.

Marisol: she might be basking in the idea that she has options, since she usually felt on LI that she was a last resort, but she also knows the miscommunication can lead to issues if she isn’t clear that she’s taken, so she wouldn’t hesitate to introduce her partner

Elisa: she might forget she’s taken for a minute, and then get mad that her partner was annoyed about her getting hit on. Saying it’s part of “dating an influencer”. I’ve never done her route, I am basing this on the little bit of screen time she gets.

Noah: we know he’s not great at ignoring someone when he’s supposed to be attached. If he really thinks there is a future, he won’t hesitate on claiming his partner, but if it’s still early stages he may send mixed signals to keep them both happy. End result: nobody is happy.

Felix: this moron would bask until he saw an unhappy look start to cross his partner’s face, then he’d probably yell “IM TAKEN PLEASE DONT TRY TO LEAD ME ASTRAY”

Elijah: is used to getting hit on, apparently. Would know when it crossed a line, wouldn’t hesitate to claim his partner before the person could think they had a real chance.

Kassam: he’d be uncomfortable that someone had the audacity to walk up to him. Probably uses his partner as a shield while he makes a disgusted face.

Carl: he’d make them uncomfortable. They probably redirect their attention to his partner and when the partner claims his weird self the flirter heaves a sigh of relief.

Arjun: he starts asking if they have a dog. By the end of it, his partner is laughing their ass off and the flirter has a new dog groomer.

Kassam as a Dad

My obsession, my heart, my soul: Kassam. I love him so much. I get so excited seeing people talk about him or use him in their work. I know a lot of people have a hard time seeing him as a LI, let alone a dad. Let me try to show you a different side to this elusive DJ.

Trust me, it’s worth it! 🖤

Please note: I headcannon Kassam’s surname as Mansouri, and I headcannon his son’s name as Amir. It’s okay if you don’t agree!

💿 It’s canon that Kassam wants a family, but I can only see him having one child. A son. He has brothers, so a son would be perfect for him.

💿 Kassam wants to be relatively young when he has Amir. He wants to be at least 30 years old.

💿 Kassam comes from a traditional Algerian family. They wanted him to name his son after someone in the family, but he chose Amir. It had to be a cool name.

💿 In Arabic, Amir means “the prince.”

💿 Chelsea did not design Amir’s nursery. Kassam thought the less he had to interact with her the better. So, he hired his own designer instead.

💿 His son is going to be the best dressed newborn leaving the hospital. As he grows up, he will always be picking out his own outfits. Kassam is dead-set on Amir having his own sense of style.

💿 Kassam and Amir have matching studded blazers (iykyk).

💿 You wouldn’t expect it but Kassam is the type of dad to get up at all hours with his son. He has no problem changing him, feeding him, and doing all the daddy-duties.

💿 This is not a dad who is all over the place emotionally. Kassam has anxiety, but for the most part is pretty laid back. He does like a routine. So having Amir on a routine makes him very happy.

💿 Kassam is not active on social media, so he won’t be posting pictures of Amir. He isn’t keen on the idea of baby pictures of him being posted online anyway. Now, in his camera roll, on his phone? Full of pictures and videos. He looks at them all the time.

💿 It physically hurts Kassam to have to leave Amir when he goes on tour. Especially as a baby. They’re only that little once, and that’s why Kassam stays on FaceTime with him whenever he can.

💿 Like Lucas, Kassam will be very protective of his son. Not quite as intense as Lucas. Not just anybody will be his nanny, and he definitely won’t be going to just any daycare. He will most likely be looked after by a trusted family member. Probably Kassam’s mother.

💿 Kassam is the type of father who will encourage structure and discipline. He won’t be strict or authoritative like his own father was, but boundaries will be set.

💿 Expect multiple songs about Amir, if not an entire album.

💿 Amir is the only one he allows in his home recording studio while he’s working. He can multitask by making beats while Amir plays.

💿 School work will come easily to Amir. He’s the type of kid we all wished we could be like in school. The type of kid who never had to study and passed every test with an A. His favorite subject is math.

💿 Kassam isn’t going to be the loud, center of attention dad at any of Amir’s events, but that doesn’t mean he isn’t proud of him. Quite the contrary. He just wants to enjoy the event without chaotic parents (no offense Bruno, Bobby and Gary).

💿 As Amir grows up, he will be known for his parties. His dad’s an international DJ after all…

💿 The boys have a “pizza night”, every single Friday, where they eat pizza and watch trashy horror movies.

💿 Lucas and Kassam are close. They do hang out. I can see Lucas’s daughter being friends with Amir. Even if she is older than him, she looks out for him.

💿 They vacation to Algeria at least once a year. Kassam is very close to his grandparents, who still live there. He loves showing Amir around and immersing him in their culture.

💿 Did Amir inherit his fathers musical prodigy gene? Absolutely. Give him any instrument and he’ll play it. Especially a guitar. But he can’t stand techno music. Kassam just shrugs when he finds out.

His route is one of the most frustrating routes in the game. It’s hard to get him to say your name. This was the guide I used. I have found that it only works once. I do not remember who wrote this, so please let me know so I can credit them asap! And, this guide, by @kokokabana, is also very helpful. @ravenadottir has everything you’ll ever need here. From information on his route, to headcannons, even another way his route could have been written. I do mean there is everything there. @litgwritersroom has headcannons for Kassam here.

i wish they made hamish a route like they did with kassam in s2. like you could bring kassam back from casa amore whether or not he preferred someone else but you had to do things very specifically before casa for him to pick you as his favourite from day one. i would’ve loved to bring hamish back to the main villa because he’d either stay himself which is fucking hilarious or he could have this like deep storyline where he stops putting on this facade and is like a real loving and supportive li.

in conclusion i loved kassam i love hamish and if andy didnt seduce me he would’ve been my second choice.

How would s1 and s2 LIs dealing their partner with severe depression who have suicidal thoughts?

First of all, thank you for the inclusion of trigger warnings, anon. I rarely answer things like this, but will do so here under the jump (mainly for S2 though). Please note that I think every character in both S1 and S2 would be so loving and caring of their partner if they were struggling 🤍

If you or someone you know are struggling, here's one website for finding help

First, I think we have the people who would have shared experiences to some extent, having struggled themselves and thus being in a position to give solid advice. Here, I think we'd have Gary, Carl, Marisol, Tim, and Lucas. We know at least one of them has received help in the past, but I can see the others having sought out help before as well and encouraging their partner to do the same. Sure, they'd all also wonderful listeners and help as best as they can themselves, but they will very early on encourage their partner to seek professional help and be super supportive in that.

Then we have those who'll do their absolute best to try and listen at first, asking what they can do to help etc. before offering to go with them to therapy or a doctor for help. Noah, Henrik, Rahim, Jake, and Talia are the ones I imagine here to varying degrees. These are the ones who'd carefully try and assess the situation, not quite sure what to do, and will try to have some deep conversations with their partners to together decide what to do.

Jakub, Elisa, Bobby, Kassam, Lottie, and Priya would fall into the category of partners who'd low-key panic at first and probably over-compensate before realising that this isn't something they can "fix". They'd be so lovely and caring though, and would call or text their partner regularly to make sure they're alright. Some would try to hide their anxiety and worry more than others, but you know these Islanders would drop everything at once if their partner needs them.

We're both really quiet. And also difficult to catch 💅 We both have high ass standards. Except... Lottie.

The fact that he looks like a raccoon. So every time I see Rocket Raccoon, I think of Kassam.

Hi anon, thanks so much for asking! I have so many favourites (I really need to update my recommendations post), so it was incredibly tough to narrow it down... so here's a way-too-long list of some of my personal favourites.

I'll just put the LI/POV character in brackets but there are too many to give full synopses/commentary on without finding a way to format it nicer, and I'm far too lazy for that. But I would 100% recommend any of these fics to anyone, regardless of who your favourite LIs are.

thoughts on today's volume ! claudia and bea having a rivalry with your casa boy is so much fun, but i feel like we're gonna be railroaded into choosing one and dumping the rest very soon . the game can't even handle MC being interested in more than one OG LI, so ... a love square (or pentagon...or hexagon...) lasting longer than one volume is out of the question

the date with kyle was cute, the part about him reading words on MC's skin gave me "kassam reading your palm" vibes ... it's not palmistry at all, but still

i don't understand why mr and mrs was a casa challenge , but i'm glad each guy had unique answers that correlated to what they say on the date . i hope bea ends up in a happy couple without needing to be with MC (also we have the same taste in music ! techno)

i could not stop laughing when max won the challenge for emel & she ended up picking kyle . i would say "poor lad," but ehh ... lowkey he kinda brought that on himself for not throwing the challenge after she moaned kyle's name in bed 😭 i'm a nosey bitch, so choosing between eavesdropping on the date or spending time with claudia wounded me. in the end i went with claudia though

it's cool to have the choice, but why on earth would i switch partners at this point ??? especially if they are only interested because they realised they screwed themselves over 😭 i wonder if there will be consequences for changing your casa boy though

also i've had enough of liam fr, i'm sure there could've been a way for him to be an antagonist without making him a cartoon supervillain . "put a sock in it" is too gentle for this disrespectful mf, we needed an option to literally throw hands with him

and why is liam even an option here ? 😭😭😭 "enemies to lovers" would kinda eat, but not with him , absolutely not

these being the only options made me laugh out loud, i forgot what the conversation was even about ... i guess there'll be another compatibility challenge next week, and then the actual stick or twist

i still wonder if we'll be forced to twist ?? probably, if the storyline is gonna be OG LI twisting with sienna . but still, she could possibly come in because of hari or your rival's partner (which would be oakley for me)

sorry for taking so long to answer you, anon. ngl this was kinda scary to answer because of a particular LI (I'm not gonna say who).

ANYWAYS, I finally got around to answer it, so here we go.

bobby — ok, so, I can see this going two different ways. either he doesn't realise the person is actually really hitting on him in front of you (he's daft don't hold it against him), or he is SWEATING. Bobby isn't a confrontation kind of guy, he won't EVER be rude to someone on purpose but he also doesn't want you to hurt. result? he panics. you'd need to be a lil patient with baker boy when it comes to this.

gary — we all know what happens with r!Hannah right?! he really dgaf. he thinks flirting and banter is harmless, he loves to keep you on your toes and he likes when you do it back to him. if you're not ready for a little of teasing and to be with a guy who knows he's hot (and likes hearing it from others), I fear Gary is not the guy for you.

noah — silence glancing at you, totally ignoring the advances, awkwardly repeating the words my partner in front of them. he's not straight up telling the person to stop but he's totally playing stupid and making them feel just a little embarrassed about it. a little like he does to MC at the beginning of the game.

ibrahim — AWKWARD. he doesn't realise at first, he doesn't realise at second; the third time, you are pissed and that's when he realises. I can see him nipping it right in the bud but I also think you'd need to have a long chat about 'dos and don'ts' and boundaries. he's young and naive, don't forget that! but you'll get there eventually.

lucas — he notices at the first thirsty glance they throw at him, then he turns to you and chuckles at your jealous face (not because he thinks it's funny but because he LIVES for that). he teases you a bit but ultimately tells them he's taken and not interested.

henrik — doesn't play around and tell them he is taken as soon as he notices some undertone. reassures you right after. he's not having any of it. king!

carl — he also rejects any advance but he's not as nice as henrik. carl doesn't see the point of dancing around the subject and it can get veryyy awkward to the flirty person. but for you? it's satisfying. that's your man!

kassam — loves a good tease, like lucas, but will turn them down when the jokes get old and he's even kind of rude when he does it. he's all about loyalty and not many people sparks his interest anyway.

marisol — like carl, she doesn't see the point of dancing around the subject as well. she'd like it if you turned down someone flirting with you immediately, so that's what she does.

elisa — c'mon, you are dating an internet celebrity, you need to get used to it. some fans cross the line, that happens. elisa doesn't care about flirting, after all, words are nothing but that, words.
