The Cabin at the End of the World by Paul Trembly A couple Eric and Andrew take their 7 year-old adopted daughter Wren on a holiday at an isolated cabin. One day, a man called Leonard turns up with three other companions. Eric, Wren and Andrew are taken hostage and faced with a seemingly impossible choice. This is a great stripped down tense read, which does not take easy ways out and keeps you turning the pages. While a film version of this called ‘Knock at the Cabin’ directed and co-adapted by M. Night Shyamalan is coming out in 2023, I hope that it is able to match the characterisation, tension and ambiguity in this novel. Really recommend reading it.
