Ok, friends,
I've no idea if anyone has ever tried this here (probably yes in other fandoms), but if Disney can make an amazing fantasy show 35 years after the original movie came out, with two wonderfully authentic lesbians and their beautiful love story in the centre of it (played by two amazing queer women, on top of that), then anything is possible...;
Calling all the crazy lesbians/queer people in and around London, England for a meet up!
Casual stuff, or a large meet up - up to us! Everyone's welcome!
Please reblog. Add your location if you want to do the same in your area!
Willow fans unite!!!
❤️ ⚔️🌌

Okay, let's try this; If you're: 1) Trans 2) Living in the U.K. 3) Aged around 25-40 4) Looking to date
DM ME. Not a joke. Maybe we won't hit it off, maybe we won't be into each other, maybe we'll just end up friends, but fuck, I've gotta try SOMETHING.

Made the unfortunate mistake of going to look up local lgbt groups and one of them uses "freaks" and various slurs.
How classy.

Tbh we Need more secular lgbt resources. It’s insane to me how often the narrative of “it’s ok to be lgbt and christian” is pushed considering the *only* way it’s ok for people to be lgbt in their own spaces is if they’re also christian. Like. You go to the local trans group and they start and end it in prayer, the lgbt center is in a church and can lose its building if they change pastors, even your average casual social gathering of lgbt people lasts maybe a couple minutes before people start asking what church you go to or what denomination you are. It’s fine to wanna make churches more lgbt friendly but let’s put some of that energy into making lgbt-specific spaces lgbt friendly, including people who don’t feel comfortable in christian spaces

>a queer delight a day, day 7:
went to a monthly meetup for queer creatives for the first time!! it was way in the back of a cafe, where some older gays had booked a room for everyone to come and sit together and work on artsy projects - there were people knitting, painting, writing, doing comics, all kinds of things! lots of different skill levels too, which was really nice, brought a very good vibe and good energy.
I had a couple of friends with me, and got to meet so many lovely new people too ... it was so much fun seeing everyone’s projects. it was especially wonderful to see people who had just picked up a new hobby give it their best, I don’t think I would’ve had the guts to try something totally new in a public space like that. so cool to see !! inspiring even !!!!
will definitely try to make a habit of showing up to these meetups. going outside isn’t easy for me, but recently I’ve been feeling the urge to make an effort and I’m going to ride that train as far as it’ll take me.

oh my god the person who runs the London lgbt 20s and 30s group on meetup is that terf who everyone’s been clowning on for trying to make cis-lesbian-only spaces by literally checking peoples genitals. (Also recently getting clowned on AGAIN for saying terfs are punk and then revealing she doesn’t actually know what punk is). This is so fucking insidious, because the group says it’s trans inclusive in the description, how unsafe for trans women who show up to events not knowing this. I’ve been to several of their events but they were hosted by other people (in the big meetup groups non-owners can host) so I had no idea about her before now
