"Well, it's a funny story really." Lex laughed, full and bright. "I started off borderline hating interacting with him. We met at a point in my life where I was lashing out at everything, and his pride was everything I couldn't stand. He was so sure of himself, and on some level, I was jealous. I didn't understand how one person could be so confident in their choices and actions. I thought he was exhausting."

He paused. "But, like a sunflower, I kept being drawn back to him. He was good for me - never backed down from a challenge and let me take out all my frustrations on him. Any time I wanted a fight, he was there. And when it was all said and done, he helped me work through my pain and anger in a healthy way."

A sigh. "Truthfully, I know not when exactly it turned to love. It snuck up on me. There was just one day where we were lying in the grasses, exhausted, and I realized I did not want to leave his side again."
