I hail from the planet of New Levra - Not many of you will know this planet, and that is understandable, as it rests in the diaspora at the very edge with the Dawnline Shore, unfortunately, despite not being IN the Dawnline Shore, the Karrakin Trade Baronies have still decided that our world's resources made going to war against it's inhabitants, us, worth it. My planet has been in non-stop war for more than four hundred years, about as long as SECCOM has made us into a Fortress World that exported weaponry due to an interesting phenomenon inside our planet's caves that allow it to somehow create naturally occurring gunpowder, yet never decided to intervene in the unending orbital bombardments that has by-now begun cracking our world apart, dropped on us by the Barons. Our planet has been cut off from the outside world for a very long time, and communication has been impossible due to the amount of Gas Giants in our solar system, Karrakin jammers, and our own incredibly radioactive and toxic atmosphere, so I am rather confused by all of this (what is to me) futuristic technology the wider galaxy seems to possess; I've been told that what my people use fits more with what many of you would call "Dieselpunk". As "Archaic" as our technology may be to you, let me assure you that it is nothing to scoff at. What do you headcanon the height difference between Alex and Thomas to be? You can answer for any of them our other pairs too if you want!

I don't think I've ever definitely written anything down for this. I always imaged a slight difference between Thomas and Alex.

I always imagined Thomas around 6' since he started as a model. Most male models, particularly underwear models, are 6'0"—6'5". I don't image Thomas being super tall so I went with the low average.

For Alex, I always imagined her around 5'6"-5'7". Her FC is 5'8" so if Thomas is 6'0" then I'm good with that, it gives a 4" height difference.

Guerra è sempre

Ho condiviso l’affermazione contenuta nel titolo di questo post fin da quando, a vent’anni da poco compiuti, cercavo di costruirmi una cultura nella Facoltà di Lettere moderne dell’Università di Torino. Il mio ciclo di studi, grazie a una certa liberalizzazione tematica post-sessantottina, fu fatto di tantissimi esami su argomenti di Storia militare, che era l’unico tema che mi piacesse davvero.

       Conoscevo il valore della prudenza ma

“giovane e ingenuo io ho perso la testa, sian stati i libri o il mio provincialismo“

e così, quando ancora non avevo fatto outing del mio NON essere di sinistra, con i miei illustri docenti (Alessandro Galante Garrone, Franco Venturi, Nicola Tranfaglia, Umberto Levra, Aldo Garosci, Narciso Nada, etc.) ero solito sostenere una tesi che a me sembrava dottrinalmente legittima, vale a dire “E’ sempre guerra”, convinto di poterne discutere con loro.

       Non l’avessi mai fatto! Come minimo, la mia persona divenne sospetta e questo non giovò certo ai miei successivi tentativi di iniziare la carriera accademica, puntualmente falliti.

       Quando poi i casi della vita mi portarono dentro l’istituzione militare, ripresi con rinnovata lena le mie tesi, convinto che – in quell’ambiente – avrei avuto maggiore fortuna.

      Di nuovo, non l’avessi mai fatto! Con la differenza che, mentre nell’ambiente accademico in genere venivo attaccato di fronte, in quello militare – professionalmente più coraggioso… – venni attaccato soprattutto alle spalle. Trovai solidarietà incondizionata solo nel generale Goffredo Canino, capo di Stato Maggiore dell’Esercito dal 1990 al 1993, e una solidarietà critica ma partecipe solo nel generale Carlo Jean, una delle figure più brillanti del pensiero militare italiano. Per il resto, silenzio assoluto o quasi, nelle logica per cui se – come sostenevo io – “guerra è sempre”, per i “soldati di pace” all’epoca (e anche ora) tanto di moda, spazio professionale ce ne sarebbe stato pochissimo…

      E’ perciò con una certa sorpresa che, sulle pagine culturali dell’edizione odierna del quotidiano torinese “La Stampa”, leggo un articolo di Gianni Riotta dal titolo “La guerra è finita? Guerra è sempre”, dove si fa riferimento ad uno studio condotto da un professore italiano, Ugo Bardi, docente all’Università di Firenze, il quale, lavorando sui dati della Georgia Tech University, è arrivato alla conclusione, per me – ahimè! – da sempre scontata, per cui le guerre del futuro non siano un “se”, ma un “quando”.

       Sono sempre stato poco favorevole ad un approccio quantitativo alla storia, tanto più alla storia delle guerre, e non lo diventerò ora che esso parrebbe confermarmi nelle mie tesi di sempre. Comunque, anche i dati statistici paiono confermare che “guerra è sempre”, così come è stata e come sarà. Mi pareva un dato evidente, a cavallo tra il common sense e la conventional wisdom. Lo dissi e lo scrissi, ma, invece che essere nato postumo, come Nietzsche, mi sa che sono nato terribilmente prematuro; tuttavia, per quanto incredibilmente piccino, gracile e un pochino inviso ai potenti, sufficientemente dotato, a livello intellettuale, per chiamare con il suo nome la “scoperta dell’acqua calda”, comunque confermata dai dati…

His legal papers list him as Levra Ni, and while that isn’t a wrong way to interpret his Twi'lek name--Levra being his given name and Ni his surname/clan name--he hates the way it looks and sounds separated and coming from anyone who isn’t native Ryl speaker. For all intents and purposes, his name’s just Lev.

On that note, Lev’s fluent in Ryl/Twi’leki and Huttese due to them being his parents’ native/primary languages. His mother is originally from Ryloth and speaks both Ryl and Huttese from being enslaved on Nal Hutta for over a decade. His father was born into slavery on Nal Hutta and only spoke Huttese for most of his life (he’s about average in Basic now). Because of his family’s long history with slavery on Hutta, he prefers to not to speak Huttese around others.

He wears a few dark leather lekku wraps (à la Shado Vao or Aayla Secura) when the mood strikes. There isn’t much more to it than him imitating trends he saw in pretty Twi'lek women.

His lekku gradient from his warm orange into a deep rusty red at the tips. I just liked that patterning detail in KOTOR’s Twi'lek ladies and wanted one of my OCs to have it.

In his teens, amidst boredom and an identity crisis, Lev considered filing his teeth into sharp points as masculine Twi'leks native to Ryloth often do. Ultimately decided against it for the sake of comfort and functionality, instead opting to paint his nails random bright colors. His boyfriends are sure glad he did! kfgdjhasd

Lev’s had a huge thing for Valen'tin after their time working together on Nar Shaddaa. they actually argued a lot about political opinions and methods and didn’t hit it off at first for a while, but Lev falls kind of hard for radical types and Val is definitely a militant, “direct action” type of guy. Though he grows to care for him a lot when they get to work together again in the Alliance, Val doesn’t really feel the same way lol.

He’s had a few girlfriends when he was younger, and a couple are still good friends. He had to figure himself out for a while to be sure it was just men he was attracted to.

His Twi'lek markings, in the style on his face and lekku, appear on his midriff and upper back. The designs circled around from his back to the front of his torso. He also has a number of tattoos on his arms and torso.

Lev doesn’t have most of his piercings anymore due to them being hazards (he’s scrapper, so a lot of punching/kicking isn’t ideal for face/head piercings lol), but he’s got stretched earlobes (0g/8mm). He’ll usually wear simple black tunnels or black spikes through them if he’s feeling edgy.

Hard to believe, but he’s very much so a people person and prefers company to solitude at all times. It can be very distressing to Lev to have to be alone for prolonged periods of time, and he’ll actively work to avoid it. There’ve been many nights when if his plans to see someone fell through, he would blast through his contact list to find anybody available to hit up a restaurant or cantina (his treat, of course).
