EVEN THE GREAT LOUISOIX!!!!
Aurum Vale has emerged as the winner of everyone's least favorite ffxiv dungeon (see all the poll results here) and now it will face off against the infamous Praetorium
so here it is: would you rather wipe in the first room and watch your teammates stubbornly stand in morbol breath attacks or sit through gaius' ten hour long speech yet again?
my personal opinion is that the ludicrous xp bonus for msq roulette should NOT be considered when choosing, but I can't stop you

it's always funny to go back to some like heavensward dungeon and realize how much the ensuing expansions have finely honed my expectations and reflexes for mechanics without me even realizing it. like oh. i could do this in my sleep. there's only one or two aoes at a time. everything is telegraphed for so long before it goes off. where's the 18000 aoes all stacked on top of each other leaving one single sliver of safe space in the corner furthest away from me that all go off after half a second while the boss steals my identity and ruins my credit bc i was looking in the wrong direction

FFXIVWrite Day 12- Quarry
Ifrit falls backwards, crashing to the scorched earth with the miqo’te’s boot on his throat, and their sword through his jaw. Finally- finally, he does not rise again. Merely squirms once more, weakly, the miqo’te swaying as their balance shifts atop him, and then- and then.
Simply bursts into sparks. Crimson aether, a brilliant cloud that the warrior falls through while throwing up arms with charred sleeves to shield their face. They hit the ground awkwardly, stumbling and not twisting an ankle by some divine grace.
Slowly, they peek through and uncover their face, panting roughly through bared, bloodied teeth.
It’s quiet. The dramatic, divine roar of flames has hushed, no longer more than a soft crackle around them. It’s… so quiet.
Slowly, they kneel and grab their sword. And yet, it’s far too light, the balance wavering and askew.
They know there’s no longer an enemy there, for all that there should be, because that was a god. That was a god, that they’d fought-
There are no more enemies. And so they feel safe in looking down at their sword. Or, in truth, what was their sword. Barely an ilm of melted metal remains to protrudes beyond the hilt.
Damn, they think. They’d just bought that one.
It’s then that the Scion, Thancred, comes running in. Eyes full of guilt, he checks them head to toe, and pauses when he truly sees their face.
Because, they realize. Their blood still surges, their pupils are still blown wide- they’re still grinning. The remains of a god swirl in the hot breeze around them, and they’re still grinning for more.
